2. http://www.fender.com/en-GB/products/bassmanpro/ Matt Freeman's demo is pretty cool, not sure its worth the asking price £1600+ but its a lovely bit of kit and I'm a sucker for the Fender tone circuit & the Auto Bias is a pretty good concept. Nice addition to the range .
3. I've been learning Slap Bass for about 2 months and I'm just about got the technique Ok- ish , I've been learning off Lee Rockers DVD taking it nice and slow , Set your action about 1/4 to 1/2 inch so you have some finger space to pull the string for the slap back . Would love to get some lessons soon and I have someone in mind from around here, But If I can do it anyone can do it and its great fun.
4. Not a big big Entwistle fan but I think that in the early 60's he wrote the blueprint for most rock bass playing to come and the influence he had on other players in the '70's,80's. There was a not a lot going on then until Jameson,McCartney and Entwistle came along and he gets my respect for that.
5. Sold long ago to the gentleman above your post. Cheers and good luck in your search.

14. There was a Thread on NWB's about them - http://nwb.co/blog/post/36638/alyerpal/now-if-only The week they opened they had some serious bargains bass wise in most cases even cheaper than on here, Hope it takes off.

18. Roland XP-30 Synth in perfect working order,All Keys trigger,Few small marks on the top and bottom and a mark on one of the keys but all superficial. I have the Original Printed Manual and the Power Lead. This Synth has two added cards - World http://www.roland.co...pdf/WORLD_P.pdf Vocal http://cms.rolandus....pdf/VOC_PTC.pdf These 2 cards are worth +£150 alone if you want to buy the synth and sell the cards. Of course the synth has 3 cards built in unlike the other XP synths. The XP-30 is a 64-voice Expandable Synthesizer that offered all of the great sounds of the XP and JV series at a more affordable price tag than previous XP-synths. Roland's XP-80 was a flagship workstation in its time, but by reducing the keyboard down to a standard 61 key (with velocity and aftertouch), elimination of the on-board sequencer, and fewer expansion card slots, the XP-30 was able to offer the XP-experience at a price within reach of serious musicians at any level. The XP-30 does retain the XP-series synthesis architecture and all the world-renowned sound sets of the acclaimed XP-80 workstation, plus all the waveforms from the "Session", "Orchestral", and "Techno" expansion cards. It adds, however, a boat-load more patch storage than its more famous predecessors: there are 1,406 patches and 28 drum kits. Fortunately there is a Patch Finder and Phrase Preview for quick navigation and sound selection. Besides the two expansion slots for installing the SR-JV80-Series expansion boards, a SmartMedia card slot provides additional storage capability. Plenty of controls and four assignable Sound Palette sliders let you get deep into editing and programming its sounds. Looking For £420 or a trade for something Bass, Guitar, P.A related- try me. Cheers.
19. I'm sure young Van Halen can play Mike's bass lines but his backing vocals are what made the VH sound IMO. If I had a chice between VH now and Chickenfoot I'd go for the latter.
20. I'd go for this amazing value for what you get- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Overwater-Fusion-Elite-hand-made-4-String-Electric-Bass-/220922511882?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item337002020a I'd upgrade to the new Preamp and you have a lot of bass for so little.
21. Sam bought my SWR Henry Cab, Really sound guy and pleasent to deal with, just goes to show Basschat has the nicest people on any forum. Enjoy the cab! Thanks Again Si
22. It was a nice bass the electrics had something wrong with them ( T-40 has that funny split Humbucker/Single coil knob- It did not work and stopped on Humbucker) but beside that it was great.
23.
Similar story- 3 or 4 years ago I saw a Peavey T-40 in Cash Converters in Wigan for £100. Gutted I didn't get it, as I was on a break from a recording session at the time and could've done with a new toy to play with in the studio!
I got that one! I only call in on the off chance of finding something but they price off the internet so the chances of finding a true bargain are slim, Saying that I remember someone buying a Wal from the Bolton shop for about £200..
24. Bargain, I'd look at the Power Valves first just might have one on the way out so could be a real easy cheap Fix and these sound so so good with the right cab.
