What kind of music do you play and are you going to be relying on the Hellborg backline to be your FOH sound or will they be stage monitors with PA taking a line from your preamp?
I'm mostly do Funk/Jazz gigs, not jazz as in 4 string quartet, like jazz funk, full on stuff! I'm playing in bars, to venues, clubs, and the occasional festival, where i'll D.I. So i'm going to be relying on my backline for my FOH sound for most of the gigs i do.
 2. Well boys and girls... My SVP-Pro arrived a few hours ago...so far, so good!!! Very interesting little box indeed, certainly has a bit more modernness about it compared to my SVT, but in a good way. The SVT, which i got back yesterday after a pre-amp re-valve and service...is sounding flippin' awesome!!! The highs seem a little more surpressed and less in your face, which i'm loving! The SVP-Pro doesn't capture that quite the same, but it seems to have a bit more fullness to the tone maybe. Mind you, i've not really tried them properly...i don't have a power amp so i'm fiddling around with FX loop send and receive jacks at the moment Still...the SVT-IIP pre-amp is of massive interest!!! I don't want to let my amp go if i don't have to, but if i could get the pre-amp version, i'd be sorted
 3. I don't understand all of that technical jargan...give me it in English boys Yeah, i know they're pricey! But then again, so are the Berg cabs i'm looking at, as well as the Epifani, and pretty much all the others...barr the Dr Bass 2460 a steal of a price!!! Anyway, the Hellborg cabs look to be quite mean i reckon!
 4.
Hi again, (I replied to your 2x12" cabs thread- sorry I realise U DO know the IP series of Berg's are powered. I've got an SVT2(non-pro) also & I use both a NV215 & a NV610 & BOTH are superb w/ this amp- Unbeatable!!!! IMHO !!! A cab designed by Jim Bergantino(If U don't wanna go as big as the NV cabs- IMHO they're easier to move etc than most 4x10's. ) The -now discontinued Sadowsky 410 cab was a Jim Bergantino design. The new AE Berg 410 might be the goods....-light weight & good sound!
Thanks mate. That's really interesting!!! I like the what the NV215 is about, and i reckon it'd sound awesome!!! But with the SVT II my whole rig would weigh more than i do!!! I can't be going down that route!! I've just received an Ampeg SCP-Pro pre-amp, so i'm trying to get around about the same tone as the SVT II (which by the way got back from a service and pre-amp valve replacements...and is sounding awesome!!!)!!! How do you cope with all that weight?
 5.
What Do U mean "poor Power" low sensitivity... as in 103dB @ 1w/1m etc..??? (U can probly tell I'm NO tech!!) I'm Also interested in them. Only seen them in mags & online... never heard or heard of ppl using them-except Mr Hellborg !
Sorry, by that i meant wattage...the 2x12 is only 200 watts!!! How rude!!! And it's a 4 ohm cab! I see that the Bass Merchant in Essex is selling them!!! They certainly look mean, that's for sure!
 6. Hi everyone, I just spotted the Warwick Jonas Hellborg range of amps and cabs...just wondered whether or not any of you had used any of this stuff? The 2x12 looks nice, but quite poor power!!! Jam
 7.
I'm not really into Hadrien's playing, but I really regret not going, it's not often that Dominique is about, I did a week of workshops with Dipiazza last year and his playing totally floored me, one of the most musical players I have witnessed-but all he kept saying was, check out the other guys in Paris, they are the real deal! May have to get over sometime.
That's interesting mate...mind me asking where that work shop was? I personally quite like Hadrien's playing, he's got it together, although...i don't feel he's quite excelled! I'm in no position to comment to greatly on that though, i guess, like myself...he's still young and inexperienced to a large extent! So i really look forward to seeing him grow as a player and what not!
 8. Both my F Bass and Marleaux only have dots on the side, i don't find it a problem and i'd rather they didn't have the dots. It doesn't take any adjusting to what so ever in my mind... As for your cort/elrick comment...i'm not sure what the deal is there either!
 9.
"Gary Willis fretless hunt" Is that rhyming slag ?
Init bruv'
 10.
THIS ANY GOOD? GARY WILLIS 105 edited on request of OP!! peace c
Beautiful!!!
 11. Thanks for all of the suggestions!!! Has anyone played any of the Bag End cabs, not just the 12" ones?
 12. Thanks Paul!
 13. Hi people, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any jazz schools that go on during the summer? I think i remember there being one last year with Dominique Dopiaza (think that's spelt correctly) in Ireland? Or am i imagining that? I know about the Jazzwise one too... Does anyone know about that Ireland one, or any others? Thanks Jamie
 14.
So I missed Dominique (Possibly my overall favourite!) aswell as Matt...great! I didn't know he was going to be with Mclaughlin!
It was supposed to be Hadrien Feraud doing the tour, but he busted his hand in...not an ideal injury when you play bass really From what Urb was saying when i spoke to him at the Garrison gig, it sounds as though Dominique was on fire, Mike said that he thinks Dominique is at the top of his game right now, that's pretty awesome!
 15. I thought the GWB2's were the fretted version? What could i expect from a GWB105 then? Did they come before the GWB1?
 16. Thanks for all the input guys, and for the PM's Mark!!! I'm having no problem finding a GWB35. I just remember playing an awesome, what i guess was a GWB105...it was black though, like the GWB35...at the gallery about 2 years ago. It knocked spots off the 35, which i still liked!!! The 1005's just seem stupid for what they are...i mean, at that price you could get a top-end luthier to build you a much nicer bass, with custom options and all sorts. I mean, my Marleaux was less than the 1005, and it's a phenominal fretless, absolutely awesome!!!
 17. What is this then? Is it like the Aphex Bass exciter?
 18.
Used one of these for a while, with a power amp and a 2x15, gorgeous sound wish I still had it.
Ooooo...that's the pre-amp section out of my SVT II (old non-pro version). I didn't realise they did a pre-amp version. I'd be interested in one of those if i were to see one!!!
 19. Thanks for the replies guys...
Epifani UL112 Epifani T112NYC I run these as a pair. The T112 is very deep, almost like a 15 whereas the UL112 is a lot brighter. Very loud and punchy combination. I hear very good reports of the Genz Benz NEOX 212. Apparently very good and very light.
Is the T112 a discontinued cab then? I can't find much info on it!
 20. That looks a bit quirky...not sure i'd get taken seriously using one of those on my gigs!!!
 21.
The tribal Tech albums with Gary Willis, he's also on the live DVD/CD that Matt Garrison brought out a couple of years ago.
Thanks mate!!!
 22. Hi all, Right, following on from my other thread on Bergantino Cabs, i thought i'd get a general thought on 1x12's and 2x12 cabs. I've got a Dr Bass RX1260, which i think is awesome, along with an RX210, but i need to upgrade them and would like to stick with 12's, and if possible, a single cab solution! Here's what i'm considering: Ampeg 112's...has anyone used these, will they take my SVT battering them, would a single one be enough for small gigs? Dr Bass 2460...great cab for the money Bergantino IP212/112...just learning about these Epifani UL212...saw Matt Garrison last night, his sounded pretty awesome, so any thoughts? Plus any others you'd suggest. I've played the Aguilar 1x12's, they're great little cabs, but just not really what i'm after at the moment. Anyway, apart from that, it'd just be interesting to see what you all think about the different 12" cab solutions that are out there really. Thanks Jamie
 23.
Always the way with acute GAS - impeccable timing; not!
Lol...thanks for that!!! Although i must say...i'm glad it's not available to a certain extent. I'd probably have bought it without really trying out all the options available to me. I'd like to make sure i get the exact solution i require, rather than making quick, snappy ones that lead to further spending in the future!!!
 24.
He was fantastic, I know that's an adjective that gets used a lot, but he seriously was fantastic. The drummer was amazing too, I have an album called 'If' by Fahir Atakoglu with Anthony Jackson on bass, Horacio plays drums on that too if anyone fancies checking him out.
Ahh...nice one!!! Might have to check that out! Any more listening material with the keys player, Scott Kinsey?
 25. Thanks guys. I'm not bothered about it's unplugged volume...but i appreciate the words of wisdom! I'm more interested in having an E-C bass that i can just pick up and play as and when i want to.
