1. Hello from Ash Vale..... Bruce story My wife worked at the same place as Bruce's wife a couple of years back, met up with them at Royal Ascot Ladies day, said hello short chat for 10mins and that was it. Welcome to the sadoes from BassChat
2. Speak to Joe Joe White 01252 520911 www.jwhite-guitarworkshops.co.uk Farnborough Does all my work, has built me both Bass and Guitars and most of the local shops bring their broken necks to him so he has a lot of experience in that type of repair.
3. Hi Ben, As I live just around the corner any way I can help out? Let me know what you are short of and I will see if I have anything. I know I have a 24 channel mixer in the loft, not used it for a while but I am sure it would be ok, and from memory its like new and still in its box. Steve
4. Nice to see the Stein has found some friendly playmates! Steve
5. If you want to go 5 string I have one that I want to move on! tried to sell it on ebay but no luck. £550 and its yours Lake Placid Blue with added SIMS led's. Steve
6.
Stunning bass that. I must get myself a copy of the book as I've had a play on one of the '66 slab body Precisions and I wouldn't mind finding out a bit more of the history of them.
you won't be disapointed, read mine yesterday, lots of first hand information
7. Just checked and the pickguard is not the same, also the thumb wear is different, so I would say although it looks like the Bass, it is not. Mind you it gave me shivers down my spine on christmas day when I saw it!
8. The very same one, had it re-fined, on the basis that it had already been stripped and a good re-fin would not reduce the value any further.
9.
Totally awesome! Can you pm me your email address, please? I'll hook you up with Barry.
PM sent, thanks
10. I just recieved for christmas "The History of the 1966 Slab-Bodied Precision Bass", a great present made even better when I saw the picture on the back cover! it's my 1959 P Bass.... I could not believe it at first, but checking with my photo's before the respray I am 90% certain that it is mine....tell me what you think....it would be nice to find out a bit more history about it so if anyone knows Barry Matthews the Author of the book, or if he is a member of Basschat, (you never know), the maybe I can get confirmation. 11. Will have a look, if I get a chance in the New Year to get over I will as long as you promise not to try and convert me to Jazz!
12. Hi Gary, not seen you since way back, I think the pub in Wisborough Green. Hope you are keeping well. Steve
13. Right now, what you want to do is Replace the bridge with a Badass, change the pickups for EMG active, put a mirror scratch plate on it and join a Thin Lizzy tribute band! Think you got a nice bass for a reason price there....
14. In the current market I would put a rough price of between £1200 and £1800, this based on the price I paid for my 59P CS, (prior to the credit crunch), and the price I sold my Limited Edition 40th Anniversary CS P Bass. Although in this market I think it would fetch closer to the lower end. Hope this helps.
15.
Hmmmmmm In your that pic of the 74 theres a truss rod opening towards the nut.... is that something that changed? Or is that pic of a 74 jazz or something?
74 is a Maple and the "73" is a rosewood. If its Alder, its stripped I would say.

TOMBBOY

Thanks for collecting the Drumbs Jamie, hope he likes them. Great person to do business with!
18.
Lovely, smooth deal and a real nice guy! By the way Steve.... I want first dibs on that '59!!!! Serious too!
Thanks Jamie, it was good to meet you, hope your trip back was ok, I know you came quite a distance to pick this up, and also some young drummer enjoys his christmas present! If you have a feedback link sent it to me so that I can return the feedback, tried to find one for you but failed. regards Steve Glad you liked the 59!
19. The Road Worn series are seriously good Guitars/Basses, I was a MIM snob until I tried one, and now have bought the 50's Tele. If youlook around although they retail for £800+ I picked up me Tele for £550 brand new! So forget about the label, go look for one at a good price, and don't pay retail price.
20. Wow! what a fantastic amp.......thanks Mark for getting it to me so quickly and at a good price! Used it last night and it was just about on number 2 through my 1 x15 Epi, cannot wait to try it with the 4 x 10 as well. This amp is awsome but Tiny. I think I may have a Markbass amp for sale.
21. Hi Jordon, there is a large number of us from Hampshire on Basschat! Welcome
22. Here is a picture of the Prodigy This is a truly great bass, the active circuit is quite amazing.
23.
finally found a pic of the headstock logo that the book suggests should be on it which also has a serial no. on it - and the right tuners
Good bit of detective work, S/n in the same place as the Prodigy, mine is N1 and also is a very low number. Which reminds me, anyone want to buy a very rare Prodigy Bass?
24. I think I have it sorted now..... Its a Fender P-Bass Plus Deluxe Not a Fender Precision Plus Deluxe And it would be early 90's as the Prodigy was designed from the P-Bass Plus Deluxe
25. having looked at the picture, I would say it is a early 90's Fender Prodogy that someone has replaced the logo on. I will post a picture of my Prodogy tommorow if I remember. I would say 91/92 Steve
