1. just played one of the 77's pretty underwhelming, tone was a little non discript non of the jazz nasal with bridge pick up, satin neck was nice but eh fingerboard binding appeared to be painted on. Classic vibe in oly white for me if i was in this price range
2. thanks guys, i suspected that the pick up placement was different and would like to play a US version to really see what the difference is, i think i iwll have a look at the vintage fender, although i have read good things about the norstrands
3. Hi Guys, i am currently playing a sweet japanese 75 re-issue, lovely instrument. However, having heard an american can't help feeling the sound is a little sweeter and more defined with the option of a little more nasal on the bridge pick up. Can some one confimr if the pick ups in the american are different to the japanese and if so, what pick ups are in the american. Any advice would be much appreciated, would consider alternative manufacturers, looking for the classic Jazz nasal sound and a bit of grit cheers Lowfer
4. you can get them from a german company on line for a snip of what you pay in the uk, looked at getting a couple of tributes, an l200 and a jb and they were not much more than the price of L200 in the uk http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk/guitar-ba...e_id_20372.aspx here's a link to us models LOWFER

14. Hi Rich, yes indeed i did play the american standard when we met. I also agree with what everyone has said that if you look at the sum of the parts the american has better parts through out, however, its the tone i am after and having listened and played the roadworn, the tone just gives me what i need. Going to go and play as many different jazz basses that i can next week and make a final decision. I do wish that the roadworn had a hard case with it, hey ho Nathan

16. Si i do agree, tone is so subjective so need to get out there and give them a go
17. Hi All, hoping that with in the next couple of weeks i am going to be in the marker for a jazz. I must admit that i ahev been sold on the tone of the roadworn, however, i am now in a little dilema, should i buy the american standard instead. Can people let me know how these 2 instruments compare, must admit i love the tone of the roadworn, got that agressive nasaly tone that i love but i am still a little unsure on the relicing. The basses are priced very near to each other. Also do you get a hrad case with the roadworn as i know one comes with the american standard. Any views much apprecited Nathan
18. bump for a fiesta red roadworn jazz
19. Bump, still available, looking at ACG web site Alan is not currently taking any orders, if you want ACG you can buy mine
20. sweet bass best of luck with sale
21. this has been a really useful post for me. I have an Ashdown mag 400 combo, that sounds asthough it has developed a similar problem, altyhough i can't trace the problem to a particular incident. Mine doesn't fuzz all the time but does so periodically. When the input lead in the amp is moved or the gain knob is turned it gives a huge amount of white noise like a loud scratch asthought static is being trnsfered throught the input stage to the output stage. I must admit i went out and bought a LM11 but still have it sat in my shed gathering dust. I think i will dif it out and try going in through the effects send and see what happens N
22. sweet bass, bass of luck with the sale
