2. sweet love the look of these and like this colour combo, sadly to rich for me at the moment
3. Experianced bass player looking for a function band with a leaning towards soul/funk/disco will consider most generes apart from rock and metal. playing 10 yrs with live and studio experiance. Own transport quality equipment and professional manner. Drop me a line [email protected] cheers Nathan
4. scales and knowing the notes on the fingerboard are vital. However, you have to be careful that you don't get stuck in one flavour of groove as i have done in the past and had to work on rythmic changes and using different notes and ghost notes. to add a different flavour. However it is also important to remeber that the bass is a supporting instrument the glue between the harmony and the rhythm. somebody once told me that if you play a gig and nobody comments on the bass playing you have done your job well.
5. korg pandora for me, got one for christmas, effects are a bit limited but thats not what i got it for, plug my bass computer/mp3 player and headphones in and off i go. Its set up all the time so no faff, just plug and play, got a good selection of drum loops that i use for scale and groove practice. You can also record a short loop and slow down if you want, but to be honest its not that clear if you slow down to much. But all in all i'm happy and the wife is happy so every one a winner. N
6. scale is 35", however, because the bridge is so far back on the body it doesn't feel like it. Last bass was a stingray 5 so 34" scale and this bass doesn't feel any different. I will measure the string spacing this evening and get back to you. Nathan
7. Right after much playing of other basses i now know what i need in my life. Looking for a straight trade for a fender roadworn Jazz, looking for fiesta red ideally. I would want to keep the hard case that is currently with the ACG, if the roadworn doesn't have one. Ideally want all the case candy etc etc Here's hoping Many of you may have seen my rather half hearted advert, i have now decided to do this bass justice ACG Harlot R Type Santos rosewood top with 5mm zabrano accent American black walnut body 7 piece neck, mac ebony/bubinga/maple/wenge impregnated Zabrano fingerboard with no radius, the fingerboard is flat with the back of the neck changing in shape, sounds unusual but it feels so natural and the neck is fast with great accessibility ABM bridge Hipshot ultrlight tuners ACG EQ01 pre amp ACG SB pickups ceramic magnet in the bridge and Alnico at the neck this bass has so much variety of tone and the level of craftsmanship is outstanding. Bass is in excellent condition, will come with a hard case made by hiscox. Links to so sound clips from ACG website http://www.acguitars.co.uk/docs/news/83.mp3 I paid £900 for the bass and i think that is a steal so i am looking at getting my money back, would consider trades with a nice jazz. I am based in near Cambridge, drop me a line at [email protected], have loads more pics if people want any more. Will consider trade with 4 string Sadowsky, Sei Jazz, Shuker jazz and overwater jazz or any other boutique jazz bass show me what you've got to offer thanks for reading Nathan

11. boxing day bump, still looking for a high end jazz
12. if only i could afford another bass then i wouldn't have to move this on. Would only let it go for the right bass anyway, nothing come up yet and if things happen they way they might then may be able to add another to the stable, i agree with you i must be mad but sometimes needs must
13. from the pics it looks huge, but i would say that it is low to medium string height
14. Hi Phil, yes indeed the model as above, any body with any questions fire away. The zero radios neck is nothing to be worried about. The bass neck is fast and easy to play, Nathan

18. Hi All, my lovely wife has bought me Korg Pandora for chrimbo, however the headphones i have are cheap and don't reproduce a very good bass sound. Looking for some advice on suitable headphones. Looking at spending maximum £70. Let me know your opinions cheers Nathan
19. it feels to me that there are almost 2 schools of thought here. When i learnt modes i was taught that the different modes were the same scale i.e same notes played from a different starting point. It certainly seems that other people have the same thought. However, when the major talks about using modes he is introducing different notes from the original scale. This certainly sounds that it has the potential to add more flavour to your improvisation. However i am now really confused. For me i am currently in the process of learning all the notes on the fingerboard so i have a much better understanding of all the notes in a scale as opposed to knowing the shape and leading from the root. Any suggestion for getting to grips with learning fingerboard would be great.
20. i was the previous owner, i must say i have a hankering for this back but no funds or bike will prevent me. Best of luck with the sale Phil, the new owner will be very happy!!!!
