1.
You may as well just re-record the bass parts for the first one. You should force yourself to turn the second one into a full on song with vocals. Just come up with a vocal melody and then try fitting some words to it.
That would be awesome.... but theres a problem... I can't sing...at all haha Z x
  2. Have you looked on the internet for bands lookin for bassists in your area? Z x
  3. Oh WOW!.. that is EXACTLY that i'm after! very nice Z x
Hi All, I bought this modified beauty off of our very own Clarky a while ago and thought I'd share some pictures of it. The sound and playability of it is just ridiculous. I bought it as a 'banger' bass for practicing, etc and it's turned out to be one of my favourites It has been modified with a Badass 2 bridge, a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickup and the icing on the cake that are the T.I. flatwound strings. I've never encountered the T.I. flats before and stone me are they good and nice to play! It nails the sound exactly from The Clash's London Calling song IMO. The bass itself is very nice to play as the action is just right. It has plenty of chips and bangs on the body but the neck is totally perfect and unmarked. Anyway enough bleating from me, here it is - The mid '90's Crafted In Japan Fender Precision bass A.K.A. Sid: Cheers, Jon. P.S. Gotta love those Fender T.V. logo's haven't you!
4. wow nice gear Welcome to BC Z x
  5. Hey wow cheers!! the first tracks out of time, it was just testin out the plug in by layering up some tracks, but for some reason i didn't use a metronome, or drumtrack, then I added a drum track afterwards, bit silly really! thanks again! Zo x
  6.
£15???? If anyone's interested, I can get you one for a tenner (For the less gullable you can buy one for a quid from Mapplins, but it won't have an 'i' prefix, which of course means it's not as good)
haha damn x
  7. these work great... http://store.apple.com/uk/product/T9106VC/A?mco=MzU1MTIwOQ I know it sounds stupid..but im pretty sure you could use it in a PC (even though its for a mac) cause i dont see why not. It literly just uses to the mic socket and converts it into a 1/4 inch. Z x
  8. www.myspace.com/zoeheslopbass I'd really appreciate it if some of you would have a listen to these there mostly just to try out this little plug in thing i bought, works very well for £15 Thankyou Zoe xXx

  10.
It feels like a bit of a 'mess' about this Billy Sheehan thing.. I mean, when it comes to guitards....... ok ok, and bassists, who do all that damn shredding-tapping-slapping typo thing, we call them 'w***ers, who can't make any music outta it' and such, but, when it comes to Sheehan - oh, look, he's God.. Or am I'm simply missing something there? No matter what, I'll get my coat whenever you ask
Yes, he does do that. but have you sat back and listened to him? mr big? talas? his solo stuff? David lee roth? It is truely amazing what he can do, it isnt 'musicless' crap you should hear some of the stuff he plays, it couldnt be much more musical to be honest! Z x Edits: Typos
  11.
Eddie Van Halen says Billy was his main influence when learning to tap and shred!
Are you sure? I swear i've seen Billy in an interview where hes said that his tapping etc was influenced by Eddie Van Halen, not the other way round. and he toyed around with the idea of transferring the techniques to bass. Z x
  12.
Damn, I'm not THAT old, am I? OK, I am...
haha aww. don't take it to heart Z x
  13. Hey lylodile! Good to see some other young bassists around and yes! Flea is amazing right? Z x
  14.
Agreed but when the ego takes over the music then it becomes cringeworthy.
I definatly think that its needed with some performers. Having a 'powerful presence' on stage really does add to the overall performance Z x
  15.
There has been two major upheavals in band lineup over the last four months, so there's a lot of work to do and unconciously I'm probably waiting for the next band member to s0d off when we have a number of gigs booked.
I think its hard to keep the interest when it becomes more of a chore rather than a fun hobby, if that makes sense? Z x
  16. I bought some 'Skullcandy Ink'd' in ear headphones, and wow its the best 14 quid ive ever spent. I've been through a lot of headphones, but the bass response on these is amazing, really feels like the musics inside ur head haha, and there just very comfortable Z x
  17.
I always find nothing inspires me to play more than going to see live bands. I'm always itching to get back up on stage again after seeing somebody else up there doing it.
+ 1 Zo
  18. There should really be more talkin in here... come on girls Zo x
  19.
Tal Wilkenfield, Esperanza Spalding and now her. Where have all these insanely talented female groove machines come from of late!? Great find Julian.
only found out about her when watchin jeff beck on tv, she is amazing!
  20. Hey. This happened with me at one point. I was/am going through a bad patch with anxiety, and it got so bad that i cant and still dont play in a band anymore, even though it was my most favorite thing ever to do. just completely lost motivation when it come to playing bass and a lot of things. What really got me back into things is going to see billy sheehan again live, just really got me back into it all, sometimes people just need an extra push. so yeah try and get yourself back into the music scene, by just going along to gigs, they can be very inspiring Z x
  21.
I also saw Sheehan a couple of times with just Virgil Donati and Tony McAlpine. Awesome stuff, but obviously, Mr Big would be THE show to see...
Devils Slingshot? I seen them. Seen sheehan do some bass clinics and stuff too Z x
  22.
+1 I really can't listen to Vai's music on record, but the first time I saw him live (well, it was primarily to see Sheehan live) was one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen. For me, you can be as self-indulgent and technical as you want, but if you perform with energy, flair and passion, it's going to be entertaining for me. Might have been the same tour as when you saw them? It was Vai, Sheehan, McAlpine and Donati - amazing band. I'm sure a lot of people in the audience were tech-heads, counting notes, but for me, it was just a great performance by a bunch of guys having a lot of fun.
Seen Steve Vai with sheehan 3 times, 1 of those times being G3 with Joe Satrinai, and Robert Fripp. Other 2 (Vai, Sheehan, Colson, Weiner and mcalpine) they were supported by Eric Sardinas, now theres one POWERFUL 3 piece band! amazing! But yeah, Vai and Sheehan together are just unbelievable! well they are the Power Twins after all! Duels are just very entertaining to watch, of course its showing off! but why not if you can? haha Z x
  23.
+1 got to agree with you Zoe. Last time I saw Billy he was playing with Vai. They did the "lets play each others guitars" trick that they do, crap description, but you know what I'm on about. Truly amazing to watch.
yeah! i know what ur on about x
  24.
Not at all, all I'm saying is that in my opinion they are great musicians but I find it sad when people 'duel' to show how great they are.
Its a performance, its a show, its ROCK 'N' ROLL! its amazing to watch!
  25.
I just took a look at the original video, it's just a pair of sad men w*nking guitars IMO.
Shall we just get every single musical performance and rip it to shreds?
