1. Great vid! Not only a good song, but Tony Blackburn's disembodied head hovering in a star!!! That's it, my best of Slade CD will definitely be playing in the car on the way home tonight!
 2.
Roll on next year's West Mids Bass Bash 2
Yeh! Looks like we should have PM'd people to remind them, like Ollie suggested!
 3. Great pic, Ian. Would you (or any of the others) mind if I put it on my Facebook page?
 4.
Had lot of fun yesterday. GREAT bunch, typical Basschat nice guys with no egos. TRBboys Markbass stuff had me looking in the amps for sale.... I forgot to pay for the room - who wants me to send money to them So here's the all star band Seashell and TRBboy on bass Yorkic on drums Ian on guitar
Really glad you enjoyed it, having come all that way! Thanks for posting the pic. So glad my back is to the audience so you can't see the 'rabbit caught in the headlights' expression as I try to remember where the E string is, lol Can we see the group photo as well please?
 5.
My head hurts
Hope that's a sign of a good time, Ian! Well, it was a small but select gathering yesterday. Really enjoyed meeting all four of you! Let's look on it as a trial run for a bigger event in the spring.
 6. I'm going to be off line for a few days now, so this is just a quikc post to give this thread a bit of a bump. And to say.. looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday. Even if there are just a few of us I think it will be fun.
 7. Last night I gave Teaser and the Firecat (Cat Stevens) a spin. Lovely. I wish the Peace Train really was coming. Sigh ..
 8.
Ah well, be nice to put faces to names anyway; shall be driving over, dumping gear then taking car home again so there WILL be some nice steady drinking going on
Sounds like a good plan
 9.
They're back! So I deleted my post asking where they were, sorry!
So they are! I've deleted my post as well. Head's hurting now..

 11.
metallica nothing else matters
I love this! I can actually play it as well
 12. I'm another leftie playing bass right handed. I thought there wouldn't be much difference as you need dexterity in both hands. I play finger style at the moment. But reading the other thread about whether or not to use a pick, it occurred to me that I'd find it awkward to hold a pick in my right hand. It would just seem wrong somehow. So I'm destined to play finger style for ever I think.
 13.
I am sorry, got a busy weekend this coming one and confused my band rehearsal Saturday afternoon with the Bash Sunday afternoon...
Phew! That's OK then. I was afraid you'd double booked yourself like Machines did!
 14. @ Ian - did you just have a bit of time warp moment over in the 'Shop Less' thread? You ARE turning up on Sun 27 Nov aren't you?
 15. Right now I'm stil plugging away at 'So What' by Miles Davis, which my bass teacher gave me as 'homework'. Still loving it, and can just about do it now. But I bet when I try to play it for Teacher next Sat I'll get all tense and mess it up! Still, I hope he'll notice an improvement since the last lesson (3 weeks before!)
 16.
MB1. Farmer Giles had a go at this but it was no where near as popular.
Not to mention Old MacDonald and his collection of singing animals!
 17.
Some of the bands I have been in those would be more useful qualitys than reading anyway
Yes, I think a 'mooing section' could enhance any band!
 18. I'm not much better at reading, but I can draw a nice tractor and make a good mooing noise
 19.
It looks right to me? I have a book in front of me and its the same as farmer freds? Not sure Im with you.
I think he means that when the little tractor draws the clef it does it from the bottom up and finishes on the F line rather than starting it. If you'll forgive me for jumping in there skej21!
 20.
The bashes can be as frequent as you like if people are willing to turn up.
Just hope we get a good turn out for this one. We've had to bump the thread quite a lot. Hope that doesn't mean people aren't interested. We should be ideally placed to attract people from all over the place, what with being in Central England and all.
 21.
Hope it rains
We won't care. It's not as if it's an outdoor Bass Bash Seriously though, it's a real shame you can't make it. Maybe next year...?
 22.
I'll prob post it up during the day on Fri and keep it until Monday then as I can't see much getting done on Sunday ped
That's great, many thanks. I'll vote on Monday morning then as I'm away at the Aged Parent's this Friday.
 23.
I have just proposed a public vote to be open this wekend. I'll announce it nearer the time but we'll let you vote three ways; rep system, like only, or nothing. Seems like the fairest way to do it! Plan is to post it up on Fri night for the weekend. Cheers ped
I like this except I'm not on line at the weekend. How long are you keeping the poll up for? (Just wondering.. not asking you to change anything just so I can vote!)
 24.
Download cost me about £2 (can't remember where but itunes/amazon/emusic are the only possibilities). Its the music that matters, not the format!
True enough, but I do rather love vinyl. But anyway, I've just ordered a CD for £3.50! It'll sound great in the car
