I`ve had the good luck to do the foh sound for ND at the academy. Great band, go see. MM
2. Lovely neck but just a bit Man City for me.
3. Have a look in the fx for sale section, there is a Boss ME50B at a great price that will do pretty much everything you need like compression, overdrive, delays, chorus, and is easy to set up and introduce you to the whole idea of FX. It isn`t mine btw
4.
MM, could I ask what you didn't like with the ABM, as I was thinking about one?
The ABM was fine for most of what I`m doing at the mo, bit of funk, disco, electro dance. But when it came to the reggae it just wasn`t getting it. I think for rock it`s excellent, it has a nice cut to it,but to be honest the limits of the speaker enclosure mean that ultra lows aren`t going to happen at the volume you`d like. When I used the 115 extension it was much nicer, and the 410 was even better but that`s quite a large rig and I`m in my late 40s and could do without lugging it about and I`d already started gassing for a LMII. So, if size isn`t a problem on bigger gigs, and you want the rock stack vibe,it`s great. On smaller gigs where massive low end volume isn`t needed then the combo on it`s own is a good choice. MM
5. That`ll do it. I must find time to make one up or I`ll be sorry now the 410 on castors is gone..

8. Not seen a 3er, you might just have to get a 5er and buy more basses...
9. Looking good, but are you confident the chipboard will survive moisture?
10. Cabs.. I want to try them all, and trying to buy them all is proving problematic.
11. What Skank said. If you just want to make use of what you have, you`ll need to get another amp. Nothing flash, just 200watts of something cheap and small with the right ohmage to suit your 210. Run this from the power-amp/line out, from your main amp and adjust the volume on it accordingly. You can then balance either cab with it`s own level and eq. The smaller setup may also make a nice rehearsal/home rig. I know it`s more cash and more to carry, but I can`t think of any other solution. MM
12. Come come, covet the precious thing!
13. Does sound like sh*t on the contacts though

15. Yeah hitme baby One more time.
16. Right. I`m going to shelve this project and just try a few 15s out at my local PA firm. They hoard all sorts of crap If I find something that significantly adds to my sound, then happy days, if not, the price is right.. Apologies for timewasting, gentlemen. Ta, MM
17. Bump for a good portable 300amp. Suprised it`s still here.
18.
Would I be ok putting a 300W speaker through a 500W amp as you have done?
Hi leemo, my Ampeg 300 is 8ohms, so with no extension speaker the amp is only 8ohms@300watts also. With the other 8ohm speaker, plugged in, the ohms reduce to 4 and then you get 500watts@4ohm, but that gets divided into the two speakers so all is good. I think anything bigger than 250watts in that cabinet is wasted anyway as it`s just not deep enough to cope with larger rated speakers. MM
19. Time for a "two hungry cats to feed" type bump.
20. Bloody southerners chucking your money about..
21. Nice looking bass.
22.
What about an ABM 115 cabinet?
Thanks for the replys gents. I just sold an ashdown 115 last month. I HAVE a cabinet, I just need a driver..A better one than ashdown provide Doesn`t seem to be much diy spirit around here.
23. This is something I`ve been meaning to do but keep putting off since I lost the wheelability of my castored up fourbyten. Here`s one for you, a lot of the chatter says a bass cab placed on the ground gives you +3Db. Leaving a bass cab on a wheelie board, good thing/bad thing? MM
24. I just sold one of these yesterday, for £120. Was in a hurry though. £130-£160 bang on. MM
25. Preamp/di>P.A>monitors. Use the preamp to shape the tone and avoid feedback, the D.I will get you into the P.A. Not much difference not being able to turn the accoustic down or turn all the other stuff down if you`re playing bass.. The accoustic guitar pickup will have a basic tone and volume I expect? I suppose the trick will be to balance the out front with the monitor so you can get a rough judge of the mix. MM
