Nothings as powerful, nothing sounds like one,and nothing competes with one(thats only my opinion,)... and.... id recieve death threats(from my band!) should i ever part with it!. I will definately buy another one!....... eventually! (not a bad endorsement of Mr Greens handywork!).
Haha, settled my a$$!, you're as bad as me, you wait!
2. That would have to be my jazz, ive had it for years, and according to my various bandmates over the years its become synonomous with me and the mods took forever!
3. well i had an fna jazzman as my main gigging bass since about 2000 until very recently when i sold it. It was a fabulous bit of kit, very punchy and aggressive sounding when maxed out on the eq, and capable of an almost perfect stingray impression (compared to my piezo ray) i found the neck to be slightly thicker than a jazz, but certainly nothing beefy. It was sooo versatile and very light. The body was easily marked and the top was very soft, but it was very stable (although a bit temperature afflicted in the very cold house!) I found the balance a little odd, esp compared to my streamer lx from the same year, but i gigged the hell out of it for 7 years with no doubts or worries! I MUCH pref the bolt on warwicks to the thru necks myself!, esp for rock. Loads of pics of it in action: www/myspace.com/gafbass02
4. Mine was a Kaman GTX53 metallic electric blue pointy thing, not bad at all actually, id rather tasteless!, swiftly followed by a pearl white and black fretless fender jazz bass special al la Duff!
5. A friend of mine would like me to sell her Hughes and Kettner basskick 515 combo for her. As i understand its immaculate having had light bedroom use only, and is based (pun not intended) in Burton at her folks place, so she would like collection from there. Sadly i have no pics but im sure you know the model, its a 200w 1x15 combo with the matrix feature etc. I think shes after £150 but drop me a pm if you are interested and ill pass you on too her!
6. An Ibanez musician in a local pawn shop for £150 about ten years ago...D'oh!
7. indeedy dude, rpm is a great, welcoming, well maintained and clean rehearsal environment, top stuff!!!!!!!!(and cheaper than quad!)
Hello gaf.... Yes Quad is the elite..... I do remember seeing you at my (gaff) once or twice...
8.
or this "brand new just arrived never used" one may be still for sale http://forums.pineapster.co.uk/viewtopic.php?=&p=444492 May save a few quids
Heh heh that was my original one, the one im gutted i had to sell (the day after i got it!!..GUTTED!) and trying to replace with an identical one, OR even better an oly white that i can change the neck on for a maple/pearl one, soon as i shift mmy FNA jazzman!
9.
I'm moving to Leicester - sounds like it's the place for bass players to rehearse! The places near me have either beaten up Peavey stuff from the middle ages or 100w combos that have been thrased to death by thrash bands who sing about death. The only decent place we go to is a portacabin but it does have an elderly Trace Elliot combo which despite it looking like it needs putting down, still sounds good. It's the only place where I feel like I've had a good rehearsal.
Thats quite funny, having just moved FROM Leicester!, when you get there tell em your the Gaf replacement visit the local music forum called pineapster, but watch out for the backstabbing, bitching, insular scenesters! There is some good bass amps in some rooms (Quad is good) but there is also some junk (stayfree and big wheel) where its the ususal blown drivers and 1920s horn cabs heh heh enjoy the city!
10. erm, that would probably have been a school band called mosschops, possibly the strawdaddies, or i was in a band called Gallus who became known as Scream a few years after this. As scream we did ok in the mid 90s, then doublecross in 2003-2006.
11. Great basses, i had a fretless one when i was 17, before i realised it was what Duff used, i was well chuffed when i found out, sold it to get my faithful sonic blue mij jazz waaay back in the day now, and although my (now hugely modded) jazz is my baby, ive always wanted another one of those bad boys, heres a pic of me, n mine very early in the morning in a studio a loooong time ago now, in the heady days of grunge in case you cant tell! hehheh! I had stuck on a pick holder, replaced the bridge with the chunky one off my old kaman GTX 53 and colured the 'F' in on the knobs with tipp ex, al la our guitarists fender esprit ultra

13. curious to know if there jazz basses could be modded with available parts, such as a wd neck, pickguards etc or would they just not fit, anyone know?
14. im also about to pull the trigger on a bass i have actually owned before a vwh 75ri jazz from ishibashi, i had mine for less than 24hrs before due to circumstances forcing a sale, but ive not stopeed wanting a white jazz for like two years now and its the best compromise i can find. Really id like oly white with the maple neck but that would mean building myself from WD etc so i decided just to go for the 75 again. I even had an abortive relationship with one of those 'signature' basses from buildabass
15. Found aroundabout sound today after living in Cheltenham for seven weeks, great place even managed to finally play a KSD, which i loved but sadly cant afford!
16. the ones that spring to mind are Styx, Dokken, Danger danger, statetrooper, mendeed, the jellies, sikth, two bands i forget the names of but both were in the top ten a week later, on two different occasions, im sure there was more in the late 90's, lush i think, something about flowers, loads of indie acts that were big back then for about two years!, Replaced Reef at a festival once. and turned down towers of london, I may have overdone things, my memory is kinda hazy! hehheh
17. yeah, the pale patches are worn through the finish, and there is regular dings and scratches here and there, postage would be in a warwick padded bag, in a guitar shipping box, with some bubblewrap if i can lay my hands on it.
18. Hey dude, tbh ive never played a standard corvette so i couldent really say, its kinda middling, no jazz thin, not p bass thick. Id be after £20 towards the postage, the dings can mostly be seen in the pics, i can always email yo ua few more if you like.
