1. not played the five, but i have to say my four is one of the nicet basses ive ever played, ever!, and that surprises me!, it feels and sounds amazing, and the build while not perfect, is still pretty amazing, reckon i got lucky!
2. Thanks guys, im now thinking about barts if they work with the audere, as the exposed pole pieces kinda bug me, yet only on this bass?!?!?
3. Should i whip the 'Vintage us' p'ups out my 75ri and stick dimarzio dp149s in , im trying to fatten up and increase punch, or am i talking out my backside??, i heard some on a geddy and they sounded ace, and the talkbass lot seem to like em with the audere?
4. Im also curious about this, especially how they might compare to a squier deluxe v

6. Hi all, my blue jazz currently has a j retro and emg active J pups, but its a bit too loud and squashes my compressor too much, so i was wondering about taking out the east and fitting an EMG-BTC System to a standard jazz bell plate. This will then leave me the quandry of which preamp in which bass... I have a ksd all stock which i love the sound of, but ill then have both a jretro and an audere jz4 lying around (unheard and unfitted) and a brand new (2008!) fender jb75100us jazz bass to drop one or the other into?, but which!?!? and then theres the ksd, what to do with the pre from that?, leave it as i love it, or swap it out, would that work with the EMG's without overdriving, then i could swap em all around!!!?? so ksd to blue jazz, audere to ksd, and east to stock fender pups in the 75 reissue, (later to be replaced with dimarzios) As it goes i love the KSD so im tempted to not mess with it, and the JZ4 and KSD pre are both side jacks so once fitted, are fitted for good!, the east is a straight drop in. Any thoughts? __________________
7. You know how much i wanted a streamette thingie, im sure i mentioned it, i wanted one sooo bad since 1991ish, infact yours has been my desktop for the last year or so! and i just bought a bass from ishibashi, now i hate you, i do, i really hate you! (walks away mumbling!), pm me with a likely price will ya, just incase my soul suddenly becomes available!
8. Thanks guys, i checked parcelforces site and it shows as at the gloucester depot, hopefully not too long, retention sounds painful!
9. Im waiting patiently for my new ishibashi toy and on the tracking site it said presented to customs, it now simply says 'retention' Any idea what this means?
10. Recently stepped back to four from six strings and im so glad, i know what you mean about the missing out thing, but id stick at four for the main bass. But corvettes are a great bass youll love it!

12. Its a HUGE hum the goes away when i touch metal parts and only occurs when any one of the several dimmers is on in the house even if its up full! Its not there on any of my fully active basses with active pups and preamp, i.e. Status jazzbastard, and streamer, but the basses with passive pups and a pre amp its really bad on, ie my ray and my KSD, its there but not too bad on my squier VM. Sounds like earth hum but is a pain in the ass! I tried the belkin pure av from work and it did nothing at all, gutted!
13. Any got any thoughts on these?, i know theres the ebtech and the EHX, will they cure the buzz i get when my dimmer switches are on? Any one got any experience with em? Or should i just get a belkin pureav 8 way mains adaptor thing?
14.
My boss worked in the John Player Graphics studio in the 70s (before leaving to start his own agency where I now work) and one of his projects was the design of those black and gold graphics for the Lotus JPS F1 car.
Seriously!, that is so damn cool!, i had a go kart copy made of wood and pram wheels when i was a kid!
15.
I'll actually have to double check! I'm pretty sure it has the phono selection on the input selector, but having never needed to use it, I'm not 100% sure if it has the preamp stage as well. I would make the assumption that yes it does, but I will go and check for you! I have a collection of vinyl, but never got round to buying a decent turntable to do it justice... however.. my bro has.. so I thik a trip to his house with a recording device of sorts to put all my discontinued vinyl on to CD ;o)
The A1mk3SE did'nt come fitted with the PM01 phono stage despite having the labelled input. Its a £20 extra available from any branch of Richer Sounds, they fit it free and its takes like 10mins. (employee)
16. The jazzman adds the neck j type pickup mate
17. A good mate of mine just won 15 grand to release an album through slice the pie, should they be worried?, hope not they've worked damn hard for it, id be gutted if it was a bit dodgy?, any thoughts?
18. Think i got £450-£500 for my well gigged FNA Jazzman, cant recall exactly now it was a while before christmas
19. When i was a kid the JPS lotus was the coolest thing ever...till Glen A l Larson anyway! Glad to see if i am bonkers that im not alone!
