As it was bought with the intention of upgrades, and it's potentially a minor improvement, I think it should get a pass.

I suspect that the Nux is designed to work with active basses when the ring and sleeve are wired the normal way round (battery negative to ring, ground to sleeve) and some basses have this the other way round. So an alternative to the small extension lead is to do a little rewiring and swap the wires to the sleeve and ring of the jack socket.

Pete Trewavas plays a load of different basses - Warwick Thumb is what I primarily associate with him, but also Ibanez soundgear (don't know which) and a Cort GB4 Custom.

Charging is via the stereo jack, which is also how the power switching on an active bass is done. What you need is a little mono jack male to mono jack female extension cable - plug the plug into the bass, plug the bug into the extension lead socket. Other alternative - swap the wires to the sleeve and ring on the jack socket (see next page).

Budget? GR Bass combos are under 10kg for an 800W 1x12 (puts out 500W into the internal speaker, a second 8ohm cab gets it up to 800W) but they're a bit over £1k. Is there a particular reason for choosing a combo rather than separates?

Not sure about the strap button positioning. The front one will tend to tip the bass forward, the rear one is presumably placed there so it doesn't push the bass to the left but it means either putting the strap over the front (ugly), over the rear (will tip it forward), or running it along the end/side round the point which would have exactly the same effect as putting the strap button close to the point. Still, if there's only going to be 12 of them, they'll all finish up in display cases so NS can come up with a slightly revised design more aimed at playing than looking good (and I do think it looks good although I'm sure there will be a fair few disagreeing with me there).

They say it'll only be 12 on the web page you linked to. However, there will be more non-limited edition ones, presumably 5-strings as well as 6, as they say it's a new generation rather than just the limited edition model.

I've already said how it could be done simply - 2.5 female which would have two leads coming from it, one 2.5 and one 2.1. @Sibob still hasn't said why it has to be isolated. At this point, I'm giving up.

My solution:

They are doing a headless option, but it's actually a headed bass without the holes drilled in the headstock for the tuners and presumably with some sort of headless bridge. It does take weight away from the headstock and gives most of the advantages of a true headless but there's still a headstock that you can accidentally stick through the rehearsal room ceiling or into the guitarist's ear, as opposed to doing these things entirely deliberately. Bodies are either paulownia or mahogany [1]. Why do the power supplies need to be isolated? You could easily split the Stomp power supply by getting 5.5/2.5mm male and female connectors and a 5.5/2.1mm male connector and connecting them up as a daisy chain but they wouldn't be isolated from each other.

Couldn't you just save the item on the browser page and then look at saved items in the app? I refuse to use the app so can't check this myself.

Sounds like the combined wire was the ground side and the white wire was the hot, which seems reasonable as I'd expect a naked wire to be ground.
