1. Cool band. Great playing and am loving the P bass tone. Pete Shand
2. I have never seen this before. Awesome.
3. I can't afford an old Jazz bass just at the minute but I have a '60s RI jazz bass and that does everything I need. I have tried other basses but always go back to a Fender Jazz.
4. I just sold a really nice P bass to someone in Belgium. Super smooth deal. I used parcel2go.com. The actual courier was UPS. They collected it and left me with the tracking number and I tracked it all the way to his front door. Cost was approx £30 uninsured and £70 insured. Have a look on their website for an accurate quote. I would def recommend them
5. I would go for the valve SVT and 8x10 everyday if there were roadies doing the shifting.
6.
I simply would not be seen dead on stage with a jeans and t shirt and a sunburst bass.
Hey, I resemble that remark!!
7. Likewise. I couldn't get a new one. My local shop gave me a 6 week wait. I eventually found a used one on ebay for nearly £200 off the retail price.
If they didn't sell enough it was only because they didn't manufacture enough. About 6 months ago or so when I was in the market for one I couldn't find a shop in the country that had any stock. They were all saying 'we should have some in 2 weeks', then it was going to be next month, come august there was still no stock. I bought a GK MB500 instead as there was no clear indication if and when anyone would have any stock delivered.
8. I love these threads. The strat was really nice. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. I am even thinking about refinishing my roadworn jazz in black and not relicing it.
9. I guess you mean this epic piece?
10. Thanks for the leather strap Chris. Super quick posting!!! Dean.
11. Fair question. I have been looking for a '60s RI for a while. A friend has a 1983 squier that is super light and full of charatcer. He wont sell it to me for what I want to pay. It is much nicer than anything I have tried. I am in Cornwall so there is not much shopping around. I have been reading lots of positive reactions about the RW range. My local music shop owner offered to get one in for me to try. No pressure. I had been in previously and tried a used USA standard jazz he had in. It didn't excite me. The RW arrived and I took it home. As much as I hate fake relic-ing the bass is great and I cant stop playing it. Sometimes I lean it against things and don't use its stand. It doesn't worry me. I
Nice looking bass! But I don't understand that if you really don't like the road worn/used look why did you buy a road worn?
12. I am leaving them on. If anyone asks I shall tell them it is a 2011 bass.
Now you have a dilemma. Do you take off the 'CE' stickers which show that its brand new?
13. Oh dear, the poor chap is trying to earn a living doing what we all love to do. He seems like a decent chap and I hope to buy him a beer one day in exchange for tinker with 'Betsy'.
14. It is for playing. Not hanging on a wall. This is a good thing.
15. 5. You must state a price for your item. Anything without a price clearly stated will be subject to removal.

19. I have played in venues with no stages and packed to the rafters of drunken moshers. Personal safety was a genuine concern at times.
20.
Why not? Some people lack imagination...
I wouldn't say lack of imagination personally. I was pertaining to using a one off £6k bass in a local boozer. In my experience these gigs can sometimes end in some kind of beer fuelled mess. I would feel more comfortable with a mass produced instrument that can be repaired or replaced reasonably easily than a magnificent piece of furniture that I would be afraid of being damaged. Maybe I should try to get a better quality gig?? Edit: or should ritter offer a relic-ing service.
