1. I think a lot of the measurements they use have come from buyers for specific cabs. Roqsolid will not know each and every cab available. It might be worth your while dropping them an email to inform them of this. They are very obliging.
2.
Having just contributed to a thread concerning the overall subjectivity involved in music it seems unfortunately ironic that you're attempting to cause more commotion on the board with this given subject.
Yes. Stirring up a hornets nest comes to mind. Improvisation is what it is, made up as you go along. Sometimes it works really well, others it's just awful and most of the time it's just OK. I'm a big fan of Gary Willis' playing. Even he, as a master of the instrument, doesn't quite do it for me every time. The videos on youtube are only a few from JP's entire career, cut short as it was.
3. There you are, it's not that big. The one that got away was though.
4. ...and a few extra bars to get from one end of the board to the other.

Ohms

Hmm. I think you missed the joke a little.

Ohms
I'm assuming you mean the amp is rated at 500w @ 4 Ohms?
Yes. It's the same for all 500 waters.

Ohms

This might help you understand Ohm's Law. Taken from a post somewhere on the net in a forum, might even have been this one. "The best description of ohm's law I read talked of it as two hose pipes. If you are trying to squeeze water through a 1cm pipe it can only flow as quickly as that pipe can take it, the resistance. If you then attach another 1cm pipe along side it you have twice the flow rate and half the resistance. Therefore, an amp that is rated 500w at 8 ohms can only push about 300w of power through to an 8 ohm speaker. If you connect a second 8 ohm speaker you reduce the resistance to 4 ohms and are able to use the full 500w".
8. I shouldn't worry Milty. I'm sure he's a teenager and as we all know teenagers try to make out it's bigger than it really is. Welcome aboard anyway, fermented grooves.
9. Rick Wright did do some solo stuff and one album with Dave Harris of 80s band Fashion under the name Zee. Nothing of any note though. As bigd1 said about Syd Barrat. Some may not have ever liked Pink Floyd but don't forget that the last tour they did in 1994 out grossed Michael Jackson's tour of the same year.
10. It can maybe be looked at as another different instrument rather than a replacement for a double bass. Nothing will ever replace that. Even an acoustic bass guitar will never sound like a double bass. You could never make a trumpet sound like a tuba. In the right hands this could sound great.
11. Synthetic strings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wty6jkbteVg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhncEjUrBFw
12. That's been around a while now. There are other videos of it that sound a whole lot better. They don't detail prices on the web site which is annoying. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Convolution-Instruments/149260701807548
13. I use rounds, flats and halfwounds. They are very good strings. Just about to order some more halfwounds for two fretless basses. They are stainless steel rather than nickel. You can buy rounds in bulk packs of 6 sets which makes them even cheaper.
14. Best place to try is Status themselves. You can buy via their website or phone Dawn who will help you out with advice. Click on the link for 'on-line shop' and look for strings. They are very good value too. http://status-graphite.com/status/frames/index_home.html
15.
After Miss Myrtle last year : it's my first headed Status
I have a picture of her naked. She looks even better with her clothes on.
16. I stand corrected as an old biddie with too much time on my hands
17.
Those strings are too big for the slots and are not seated properly (judging by the photo).
Better speak to Chris McIntyre about that. He set it up and it plays beautifully.
18. Does that mean Cilla can buy another new hat?
19. The B guide does look very low, as if it could get any lower. However, My Status fretless basses have the string come out the nut right onto the end of the fingerboard. Spose it just depends how it feels to you, that's all that matters. Status nut
20. You could try playing some chords in that tuning. There's always the option of fitting a D tuner which would let you tune down at the flick of a switch. Just opens up your options really. Oh, and I hate low B strings. Never heard one that I like. I've had a six string in the past too, TRB6 at that.
21. Status Hot Wires have black silks at tuner end only.
22. My mistake, Warrior basses, not Sadowsky.
23. The model Adam Nitti played once upon a time looked very like that. I'm sure it was a Sadowsky.
24. Think he needs to see someone about his memory problems too. How you can forget maker and preamp make after only three years seems strange. Looks a bit like a Sadowsky.
25. Don't want to put you off or anything. I felt that way in 1994. Picked up a bass a handful of over the next seven years with no inspiration whatsoever. 2001 came along with a whole series of coincidences and bass playing was great fun again. Took a complete change of direction into jazz and folk though. haven't looked back since then. All that young person's music just doesn't do it for me now. Give me old peoples music anytime.
