Love this thread. It will not rest in peace.

Now SOLD This towering bass rig will be just what you need for that gig in Shea Stadium. OK, maybe not. What we have is a miniature Vox bass combo. Runs from a standard 9v psu or 6 AA batteries. Aux in / headphone out and 1/4 jack socket for your bass. It's a headphone amp with one significant difference. If like me headphones become uncomfortable to wear and provide just another cable to get tangled up with, you can practise late into the wee hours, hear yourself and not wake the neighbours or your house mates. No you can't gig or take it to band practise but you can learn songs and rehearse with it at home or on the road. There is a tuner and a metronome and multiple drum patterns. I even use to it to amplify music from my phone. Original packaging, and yes I include postage in my price.

NOW SOLD Source Audio Envelope Filter Forty Five quid posted. Bought a Future Impact which is taking care of my envelope needs. Velcro on the bottom. Lots of sound options here, it was 'the one' or so I thought! But that FI pedal is a one stop shop. If this isn't quite what you're looking for I have a couple of EHX pedals going up for sale soon.

SOLD For sale Valeton Dapper Bass. Six pedals combined into one metal cased unit. Includes the famous Valeton octave pedal which is a well known OC2 clone. It's also a DI box with a very usable preamp, has its own effects loop, is light but very solidly built. You can run it off a single 9v psu, it has original rubber feet and no velcro. I bought it as part of my Stealth rig. In and out of venue in one lift. As such it was perfect. However I find myself with no gigs and multiple effects options so some have got to go. I'll get a video up so you can see/hear it working. Price includes postage, because I'm nice like that 😊

Good grief. There are some talented folk around here.

My mate had one back when I was a guitarist. I didn't really know the difference between any two basses then.

Good grief - is there no end to this perfidious behaviour??

Cripes. Controversial opinion.

If they have two, grab one for me too would you?

I have a BC P-bass strung with their flats. It is, unsurprisingly, excellent. I think the price difference between it and the Profile is about right. As good as it is the Profile has that little bit extra

Massive sigh of relief here! Hated the thought of giving advice and it not go well, although my confidence in the bass itself never wavered. You mentioned the weight, never weighed mine but I have gigged with it regularly. Must be something about the way it balances on the strap because I don't feel it when playing and I have long standing shoulder problems. You're right about the pick up. Hot without losing character or definition. Enjoy!

More surf greenness chez Clarky (Precision content)
stewblack replied to Clarky's topic in Bass Guitars
I am really warming to this cool fresh colour. For years I assumed if a bass was neither black nor red then it must have been painted as a practical joke. So shallow was my taste. What I failed to realise was how much I limited my GAS with such a narrow minded attitude. This is a particularly beautiful example. -
How do we quantify a good or bad instrument? Difficult when so much is subject to personal preference and taste. I think one way is to ask yourself, if all your basses bar this were to somehow disappear, would you be happy to go out there and gig, rehearse and record with just this one? Another way, assuming you have multiple basses from which to choose, is how often do you choose this one? And when you do, how does it make you feel? For me the answer is a resounding yes to the first question. And to the second? I try to rotate, but sometimes just grab and go but this is always near the top of my list. And the final question is easy - it puts a smile on my face. I think this is the hidden gem in the HB bass inventory.

Time for an update. There is a tendency to exaggerate when receiving new gear. It's either the best thing ever or a crushing disappointment. Expectations and excitement play a part. With this in mind I thought I'd let the froth settle and ask myself some searching questions now I've had this bass for a couple of weeks.
