Just had my IPOD on shuffle and 'Boogie Oogie Oogie' came on by A Taste of Honey. The tone of the bass on that track just makes youur teeth rattle. Played by Janice M. Johnson. Can anyone recommend anything else she played on or other female bass players worth checking out.

I've never seen him mentioned on any threads so I thought if anyone else was influenced by him. Although not technically one of the best players ever, Steve Severin was one of those guys who made bass playing look cool as f**k and made me learn that instead of lead guitar. I remember him talking about a bass he called the 'ayatollah' as it was very heavy but I can't remember what it was. Especially liked the stuff he did on The Glove project with Robert Smith

What always annoys me about the record industry is that it's way to stop piracy is not to reduce the price of cd's so there is no need to do it but to put the price up. if albums were £5 each, nobody would need to pirate anything. Personally I'd love to see something new come along soon just like glam/punk/ new wave/house/grunge/brit pop..etc but don't think Simon Cowell will allow it

Have to agree that the first three albums were great...when KID A came out it was just unlistenable rubbish. What's the last album like?....any good? For me The Bends is a much better album than OK Computer but it always gets voted as the best album of all time!
