1. I think that all sounds great guys, but I agree with Machines that perhaps we should look a bit further north, especially if we're potentially going to merge with the Nottingham guys (although I've not heard anything back yet). I'm just itching to have a bash! And hopefully try one of your basses Dave.....
 2.
I like the neck, TRBboy. It's 1.6 inches at the nut, medium depth with a D profile & a modern, flat radius. It fills the hand nicely without being too clubby. As for reviews there's a short one from an owner on TB, other than that though it seems to be Harmony Central (where every piece of equipment ever made is 10/10) http://www.talkbass....4-string/cat/13
Thanks for that mate. I would love it, but my sensible side tells me it won't be as good as my Sandbergs and I'll end up selling it quite soon! It does look lovely though, and it'll be an absolute bargain for someone!
 3. Nice bass! Wish I lived near enough to come and try it! What's the neck like? Do you know of any decent reviews on the 'net you can point me towards?
 4. I know a few people on BC have done Warmoth basses, but I just wondered if anyone could tell me a bit more about doing it? It seems to me that it could work out pretty expensive! Is it good quality stuff? Is it a nightmare and expensive getting the stuff shipped over? I'd be grateful for any opinions and experiences people can share.
 5.
Aren't they Mayones's budget line?
I dunno..... These are made in Danzig, Germany, whereas Mayones are Polish. It looked also as if "Baphomet" is Fame's budget line. No idea really! They look quite nice though. I'm desperate for a nice white bass with black hardware so I was eyeing up the ltd ed one on page 2.......
 6. Only recently spotted these; they seem to be exceptionally good value for completely handbuilt basses made in Germany! http://www.musicstor...0%26%40Page%3D1 Has anyone here played one?
 7. Hi guys, don't know whether you've seen but a few of us have been discussing a West Midlands Bass Bash. As Birmingham and Nottingham aren't all that far away, what about linking up for one big Midlands Bass Bash? It would be good to get as many people together as possible IMHO. What do you think?
 8. Hmmm..... don't know what's the best thing to do at the moment........ I just want to go to a Bass Bash!
 9.
Ones to watch for are the exclusions (what they won't cover), geographical limits (REMEMBER that countries like Norway, Iceland and Croatia are NOT in the EU), theft from vehicle specifics and what the claims procedure is. £76 on the "natural" or the "harmonic" quote? Allianz have always been good for me - plus you get £2000 free sums insured with MU membership. Will be looking into this New Moon one though, could save a few quid!
It was £76 on the Harmonic policy. They seem to be nice and clear about the specifics of what they do and don't cover, especially with reference to theft from unattended vehicles. They say that they know not everything fits in a glovebox or boot, but as long as it's not in plain view and all security features on the vehicle are activated (basically), that's ok.
 10.
Can't remember who does mine, but for about £15k of stuff it cost me £349 - not claimed in the past 5 years though. For Public Liability cover, join the Musicians Union. It comes with your membership. Just as a dig, I might add, don't expect your card or any documents to come through until a month before your membership expires though (11 months and no Public Liability cover yet haha - record eh?)
I've looked at MU, but it says you have to be a professional musician, which sadly I am not. My New Moon quote was only £76 for all my gear inc. theft from an unattended vehicle and £1m public liability! Seems almost too good to be true......
 11. Just spotted that the Peavey PXD basses are available now and wondered if anyone's tried them and has any opinions? Thru neck and VFL pickups, they should be ok for the money.
 12. Wow, cheap! And if it's underwritten by Hiscox the actual policy should be ok, I guess the customer service side from New Moon is just more of an unknown quantity. What does anyone else think about Public Liability cover? I've never bothered before but not sure if I should......
 13. Hi there, have you had this bass from new? It looks like the neck of the DE on a standard Zodiac BXP body. I believe the DE is only available in black with a Chrome pickguard, and comes fitted with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. Just wondered if you were aware of this.
 14. Slowly losing the will to live with this now..... Tried Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome and can't set a profile pic on any of them. In fact all I've done is manage to lose my old pic! Tried clearing the cache and everything else I can think of. Anyone got any ideas?
 15.
Have a look at the Nottingham Bash thread. They've set up a poll regarding venue and dates which looks like a good idea! But thinking about dates...the Nottingham crew are looking at dates in November. I wonder if that would clash a bit with a WM Bash .. I suspect there are people who could go to either one. Do you think we should look at dates in the New Year? Give us a bit more time to plan? Or maybe have a small event (ie in one room) this side of Christmas to test the water, and if that goes well aim for a biger one later on? (Sorry if I'm interfering here. Politely tell me to butt out if you've got other plans!)
No you're not interfering at all, any input is greatly appreciated! All good thoughts, I suppose I could even make it to the Nottingham Bash if I want to. Perhaps if us lot can go over there, most of them would come to Brum in the new year? Either that or depending on how far along the Notts crew are, perhaps they would consider linking up and finding a venue inbetween? (I don't want to tread on anyone's toes though!) Personally, I would like to go to a bigger event where you can meet more people, and there's more going on. Anyone else got any thoughts too? There must be more BCers in the West Midlands!!!
 16.
Until a date and location is established I don't think it should be publicised .
I agree, but it would be good to know if there's sufficient interest before we bother organising anything concrete..... bit of a chicken/egg situation! I've put a message in my sig anyway, so that hopefully others might express their interest.
 17. It looks like it was a great day! Wish I could've been there....... I would LOVE to know who everyone is in the photos though!
 18.
I think first we'd need to find out the cost of a venue and then work out the minimum number of people you'd need to make it pay. (The entry fee for the SE Bash was £10 a head and any surplus went to charity). Then you ask people to put their names down on a post here and see how many you get. Do you think that would work?
I think that sounds like a good plan, my only concern is that people might not notice it in the events forum. Maybe we can get a sneaky mention in on some of the other forums, or put it in our sigs so that people notice when we post?
 19.
I'd be up for a West Mids bash - would be an opportunity to visit "back 'ome.........'Om a Black Country girl ay I.....bostin ar kid".....etc...... Angie
Oroyt yow, ar am ya? (poor attempt at black country slang!) Would be good to see you there if it comes off Angie! Can the folk of Ascot understand what you're saying to them?
 20.
That's a good call actually, I know Alex who runs the Arkham recording studio over there so might be able to swing a bit of a deal...
I just love it when a plan comes together! Does everyone think there's gonna be enough people interested for it to be worthwhile?
 21.
Yes, the Tribute L2000's neck does not suit everyone. Trib. L2000 necks come in only one size, 1.75" @ the nut and 12" radius. With USA L2000's you have a choice of necks, the most popular being the jazz neck. You could always try out a Trib. JB2. Not as versatile sounding as the L2000, but a great bass for the money none the less, and has the jazz neck.
Hmmm..... Interesting! I like the look of the SB; does this have the jazz neck too? Probably not much chance of me finding one in a store to try......
 22. Lovely bass dude! G&L tributes seem to be such good value at that pricepoint and they sound great! I really wanted to buy one earlier this year, but when I actually tried one in a local store, I realised it just wasn't for me; the neck felt massive and awkward unfortunately (I do have dlightly girly hands!). A good score, hope you enjoy it.
 23.
The upstairs bar at The Asylum might be a good place. Just outside the city centre, adequate parking nearby. I can enquire if there's enough interest. Howabout a sunday afternoon 1-5pm ish?
Sounds good, enquire away! As Seashell said though, it might be a good idea if we could have a couple of rooms or something. I could do a workshop about "How to pretend to be a competent bass player"........ I really want to have a get together, but does anyone know how we go about rounding people up? I had never looked in the "Events" forum 'til recently!
