1. I voted Tort guard. There is something about a black fender with Tort guard that just says "Awesome" to me. Couldnt skip the second bit but voted Wizard cause of all the good noise on here about them. Gonna pick a set of Jazz ones when/if I get the money.
  2. Cant vouch for the amps but I have a 4x12 cab I use. Have never had a problem with it. Just bought a 2x10 (not Marshall) to give it a bit more punch. Does weigh a ton though.
  3. Hmm I bought one from there too. Had to file the neck pocket down a bit on the plate but it fitted fine after I had done that. Had to fill a couple of holes but it definitely fitted over the pickups.
  4.
Snip....but I didn't really get on with the tuner pedal .
+1 Struggles with my E string, god forbid you need to tune a 5 banger!
cheers for replies everyone, just ordered the glx distortion pedal as it came with its recommendation, and seemed to have good reviews elsewhere. appreciated
Phew, you didnt go for the tuner
  5.
Anyone tried THESE?
I havent tried them but at £3.50 they seem like a bit of a rip off if you ask me. Cheaper to try the dunlop ones http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pair-original-DUNLOP...1QQcmdZViewItem I know they are the same price but you will get them cheaper in a music store and they are tried and tested. I used them on my Westone (weighs an absolute ton) until I got a set of Schallers.
  6. If I could sell my old head unit I would snap this up, but a failed ebay auction and no interest on here tells me I am gonna have to keep a hold of the amp
  7. Just recieved one of his very own 2x10 Alien Audio cabs. A pleasure to deal with even with a bit of mucking around with Paypal. Very well built solid cab, looks nice and sounds braw. Need to get it to practice on monday so I can give it a good seeing to +1 on his packing too! Took me ages to get into it haha!
  8. You moved this as I was replying! Fly bastage lol. Once those harden you will have great callouses (sp?) and you wont need to worry about getting any more blisters no matter how hard you play. I remember my first two like that. Trying all night to get a real sloppy demo of 6 songs for our first band. Never had a single blister since.
  9. My old man has agreed to take my one off me! Woo hoo. Just means he is gonna have a 17" one lying around now. Ah well not my problem huh
  10. I have heard nothing but good stuff on Valenti Basses and that floor is almost infamous on TB. I wish I had the £750 to throw on it but I dont. Good luck with the sale mate.
  11. I got a little excited there and realised it was a Jazz 5er I want to try a Pearloid on my Sage green MIM. Saw one on Talkbass once and thought it looked neat.
  12.
Works fine, but now I have flat screen monitor ,so can anyone use/re-house this?
Good luck mate. I am sitting here with a 19" one. Cant even give them away! Anyone?

    kawai bass
They were good stuff in the day like lots of jap when they stopped making crap and started making gear as good as anything from the US. Is the second one a scam using the first?
Possibly. I never saw the original listing. Can anyone who did see it tell if maybe they have copied the pics and sh**?

  15.
Ask a local dealer or contact Yamaha.
My mate needed a battery cover for his Yammy accoustic. Popped into sound control to see if they could get him one and how much it would be. The sales guy just foned Yamaha and told them to send an extra one with the next shipment. Never cost my mate a penny. Job done.
  16.
I need a practice amp anyhoo and i'm looking at a 40 watt one and wonder whther this will be enough to jam with an accoustic guitar or an epectric on a practice amp? Thanks in advance
Without Drums? Yeah easily. With drums? Probably not unless the drummer uses daffodils as sticks
  17.
Lovely instrument, well I love mine anyway. Can't justify two. I'd like the case though ...
+1 I'd pay £20 for the case! Looks like they fit nice
  18.
Wizard get alot of good press and are probably the best you can afford for £50 or slightly more.
+1 I am gonna eventually drop a pair in my MIM when I get the cash gathered up.
  19. We have a gig, 3 sets starting about 9ish. Our drummer told us he was quitting last week and this is his last gig so lets hope we can all act proffesional about it and not start fighting! Then again I am in Scotland and after all the fuss when you lot won it the last time, its probably best. P.S. I hate rugby too.
  20. If the Laney was 4ohm I would have had it off you before it came to sticking it on Ebay. Good luck though.
  21. What a nob! Just because you were selling cheaper than he was. What kind of revenge did you have in mind?

  24. You need to check out Bass Culture: The John Entwistle Bass Collection. http://www.play.com/Books/Books/4-/208891/...re/Product.html Brilliant coffee table book with comments on them all from Thunderfingers himself! He had one of the first 5 electric basses ever made!
