2. Hi all, I'm moving on my old Allparts Jazz neck which has been on my bitsa. It's a maple neck with the pearloid blocks and cream binding. These things are pretty rare over here and importing them normally makes them quite pricey. This one is in very good condition. It has a bone nut fitted and has previously had Schaller BMFL tuners on. There are two very slight hairline cracks in the finish, one on the front of the headstock and one on the back. Hardly noticeable unless in the right light. The truss rod turns and works as it should and the neck is nice and straight. The finish itself is glossy and has a slight amber tint, so looks great as a vintage piece. The reason it's so cheap? To get it to fit the body at the right angle, we installed neck bolts as opposed to traditional neck screws. As such, these are slightly off kilter, so this wouldn't bolt straight onto a normal fender body with the screw holes int he normal position. It's only slightly off, but please take a look att he pictures to see what I mean. A normal neck plate fits, so the bolt threads are evenly placed, just not in realtion to the angle of the neck/ Does that even make sense?? Take a look and any questions, I will do my best to answer. 4. Hi all, Moving on my 1985 Yamaha BB1600. I picked it up from the Netherlands a few months back, but I'm more of a Jazz Bass kinda guy so this is sat collecting dust. It's a passive P/J with a nice slim neck. Doesn't weigh much at all - I would hazard a guess at around the 8lbs mark. Can do that classic P sound, but the J pickup adds a nice growl and zing. I always run it with both pickups fully open and tone on full. Same model as used by Tony Kanal from No Doubt. Neck is nice and straight, frets are in great condition and the truss rod works as it should. There are a few bumps and scrapes as to be expected from an older instrument, I've got pictures of the two main ones - a ding through to the wood on the top horn and the top of the headstock is chipped. Comes with a non-original beat up tatty case which it came in, one of the clasps is broken but I suppose it does its job in getting it transported around. I'm based in Lancaster and happy for prospective buyers to test it out. Can post it as well. Looking for $450 plus £15 shipping within the UK. Any questions, please ask. Cheers all
5. Hi all, I picked up this Yamaha BB400S off eBay a few weeks back. It's a passive P bass with a reverse pickup configuration and a big chunky neck. It was a bit of a state when I got it - dead, rusty strings, bridge saddles rusted together, frets and fretboard were covered in gunk and rust, etc. Few knocks and scraps on it which I have tried to photograph, but it is 32 years old. Spent some time cleaning it up, but the main issue is the neck. It looks to me like there is a bit of a ski jump on the last few frets where the body and neck meet. This means that playing from about 15th fret upwards is pretty much impossible due to fret buzz. Doing a bit of research, it looks like removing the last few frets, planing the board then reinstalling frets is the way to sort it. Well above my capabilities There is also a forward bow in the neck. I'd be tempted to say that heat treatment may be able to resolve this, but again it's something I'd rather not bugger up myself. The good news is that the truss rod works! I replaced a few rusted screws around the pickup assembly and replaced the bridge saddles. The P pickup sounds great, although looking on the rear control plate, the wire looks to have been spliced in a former life. Not had any issues with it though. I paid just over 100 for it, so looking to get this back. I'd highly recommend viewing first so you know exactly what you're getting - might be a good project for someone to try out repairs, or could be parted out for different bits... I'm based in Lancaster but travel quite a bit with work so I'm normally in Liverpool/West Lancs or occasionally get up to Dumfries in Scotland. Can post if needs be. Looking for £100, plus £15 for shipping. 6. Yeah, for the sake of completing this thread... Tried heating with a soldering iron, nothing. After a few days of trying all sorts, I just bought a new bridge and pinched the saddles off it.

NCD Zilla 610

Nice. I've got a Zilla 2x12 that's superb. Great cabs
8. Cheers all. Didn't think of heating in so will give that a try. I guess I could just put a soldering iron on the grub screw to see if that makes a difference. It's a flat bottom saddle which I can't seem to find too easily online. I'll stick a picture up later when I'm home. Thanks all
9. I picked up an old Yamaha BB400S a few weeks back with a view to slowly but surely getting it into playing condition again. It's going ok, other than one rusted grub screw in one of the bridge saddles. My allen key slips when I get hold of it, I've tried pliers to twist it, covered it in wd40, let it soak in a bath of vinegar overnight and it still won't budge. Anything else that I can try before I resort to just getting a new saddle? Cheers

This is the original post... Many of you probably know Joshua Barlow "Joshwa Barlow" on facebok . You may think he is a decent guy but he is also in the business of scamming people over the internet selling iphone's, macook's and imac computers on facebook sites and insisiting on bank transfer and not ever posting anything out to anyone he has done this to me and i have been in contact with other people he has ripped off also! The best anyone ever got from his was a box filled with stones to the correct weight of an imac! He currently has a Warrant out for his arrest for stealing his step dads phone and selling it to cash converters. It has now been nearly 3 months since he stole from me and he never thought i would track down where he lives, pubs he plays in, his family (who have been nice to me and told me he always does this sort of thing) if anyone can make him pay me back i would be grateful but this is also a warning to watch him as he isnt what he seems!
11. A quick look on Facebook says... "He has been arrested and charged... He scammed me 18 months ago for £500" That post was from 13th April.
12. Schecter typically do coil tap or 'full' on their bass pickups and this is switched by pulling the tone knob. Maybe it's that? Nice looking bass anyway
13. They're my favourite band and I have a slight obsession, but I'm only into the Blue and Pinkerton era. Huge fan of Matt Sharp's bass tones, especially Pinkerton and the Sovtek big muff and old Orange Matamp. Tried and failed to get Manchester tickets recently, wasn't too upset once I saw the setlist though. Listened to the white album this afternoon. Nothing too terrible, but light-years behind the 90's stuff.
14. Looks ace! Always liked the look of the GreenBoy stuff.
