1. Any folks here use Avatar cabs? I see theres a dealer in the netherlands, but can't find any info about shipping over here. The 4x10 neo looks lovely with the different colours
2. Adding a 15' or any other 8ohm cab will usually result in more volume and a more powerful sound. It depends if you're happy with the current sound? Maybe look into effects pedals...be warned though, once you start, you don't stop
3. Might be a bit too far, but Promenade music in Morecambe had a 700 in last time I was there. They're very friendly so will have no problem with you a/bing things probably.
4. Very sexy. I live in Lancaster too. Unfortuantely I finished building a Jazz 2 days ago. Good luck with the sale brother.
5.
I love tele headstocks and LPB so this is quite a treat. I don't know much of Weezer's work, but this bass looks sweet!
Dan, Matt Sharp only played on the bands first 2 albums, which are IMO the best pieces of music ever made. But then, I would say that
6.
I spotted the Orange with the Matt photo too. Isnt that and early AD200b? He still uses that with his latest bands....I think he lends it to is current bassist.
Ahh sorry bro, Matts amp is late 60's/early 70's Orange Matamp. 200watts of old Matamp power. I've seen 2 for sale, and they're not cheap. The last one I saw belonged to Jimmy Page and sold for $30,000. And yeh, it's still used when he plays with the Rentals.
7. I'm afraid the Orange is just a Crush 20. Well, I say 'just', it's a great little practice amp that can get pretty loud when cranked and has great tonezz. Thanks Musicman and steve
8. Thanks brother. If they turn up, I'll try them out and keep whatever sounds best then sell the other set.
9. I need to sit down and work it all out, but looking at £6-700. That's including the £92 for pickups that never showed up
10. I'm sure they will, Peter!
11. Excellent review...I don't think my bank will appreciate it though
12. So being a big fan of the mighty Weezer, I decided to build a signature bass of their first bassist, Matt Sharp. I decided on making his backup bass (his main bass was a heavily distressed 60's Jazz body, which is neither easy to find, or cheap). His backup was a Mexican Fender Jazz blue body, Schecter Monstertone pickups and a Warmoth tele bass neck. It looked like this.... So when Fender started making Lake Placid Blue bodies again last year, I thought now is a better time than any to have a go. I searched high and low for the Monstertone pickups. Found some in Sweden, but the guy never replied to me, then by chance, found some over in the states and paid for them. 9 weeks has passed since that, and they still haven't shown up (thanks USPS). The body and miscellaneous stuff (pickguard, control plate etc) came from a guy on Ebay, and the Warmoth neck followed soon after. I gave up on the Monstertones and ordered some Wizard 84's. Put on a Gotoh 201 bridge and some Hipshot HB2's and she was ready to roll. Here's a fair few pics of the build and the final piece! Oh, and it sounds bitchin!
13. Come on folks, these are just sat here. PM me an offer if you want, I can only say no.
14. Hi all, I need a good bass tech in the north west, Lancashire preferably. I know of manchesterguitartech and that ged green fellow, but looking for things slightly closer to home. Any one know of anyone?
15. Hi all, looking to sell some chrome Schaller BML tuners. Bought these off ebay and they took a while to arrive, so I bought some Hipshots. And now they've turned up and I've no use for them! They're 2nd hand off ebay, but no issues with them at all. Comes with bushings and screws. Looking for £40 delivered which is what I paid. Here's couple of pics from the auction. Ta very muchly
16. I'll be honest, I really miss being in the g-3 club
17. I said it on talkbass, and I'll say it on here...'beautiful'
18. I got some Wizard 84's on Friday to put in a project jazz, the bridge pup works fine, but the neck has extremely low output. Barely audible in fact. Any one have a reason why this would be? I've tried pickup height and checked my wiring is good but can't understand what's going wrong. Would a faulty pot cause reduced volume? Merci
19. And that's all I needed to know! Thanks folks
20. Hi all, I'm thinking about picking up some Wizard 84's, and just seeing if they come with pickup screws? Doesn't seem to say on the site and would like to know before I get them and can't install them! Cheers
21. I'm in Lancaster, Lancashire. It's just annoying seeing a beautiful neck and body sat there screaming to be rocked out with, but alas, I must wait. Just been reading about USPS taking many weeks to reach their destination, so mayeb there's some hope it's still out there.
22. No tracking numbers for Priority Mail for USPS if it was sent in an envelope apparently. I'm kicking myself because I've never had any problem with shipping, and the guy offered a more expensive type of shipping with numbers, but I said no. I'll get onto RM soon, I think it's 15 days you have to wait before they look into it. I'm now tempted to buy more new tuners and pickups, but I know the minute I do it, they'll turn up!
