1. MB1 has replied in one of my threads! I can die happy now, and don't care if this sells or not!! £90 posted folks? Bargain methinks
2. Back from my holiday bump!
3. see you all next friday!!
4. Bizzump. I'll listen to offers. I'm away from Monday and I'll have no internet for a week so I'd rather get this sold and sent off Monday morning.
5. Hi all, Thinking of letting my Pork Loin go as my quest for a tube amp would mean I'd already have some cool overdrive. Firstly, bad points. The gain knob has crack. This doesn't affect the pedal in any way other than cosmetic, and Way Huge knobs are on ebay for £3.50 anyways if it bothers you. That's about it! There's also a couple of little bits of velcro on the bottom, but I can remove these if you want. I got this 2nd hand and it is in pretty much brand new condition other than the knob. Comes with all the box and bunf and 2 way huge badges! Great sounding overdrive with the added bonus of a clean blend. Can have really low gain tubey overdrive, or crank the gain and the tone and get a nice punchy drive. Many tone options available. Looking for £85 posted. I can do pics, but it really is like new. Rock on
6. Basszilla, how do you find the Matamp to the Orange you previously had? You did have an Orange didn't you? Maybe I dreamt that
7. These are the muff's/clones I've had... USA reissue Black russian Green Russian X 2 Green Russian clone Bass Big Muff Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie USA was awful, really tinny and fizzy. Black wasn't much better, bit bassier, but nothing great. The green clone I built sounded awesome, although seems a little less bassy than an actual green one. Bass Big Muff was great. I'd recommend this if you can find one. Wren and Cuff was really great too. The Sovtek's are wonderful. I stupidly sold one, but bought another soon after. Maybe it's a placebo because it's a huge old box and all knackered and old, but it sounds so huge and punches you in the face with bassy fuzz. I adore the sound. They're going for around 100-160 now, but the Bass big muff came pretty close to it. As I say, I'd wait for one of those. Or get a Sovtek if you're rich

Festival gigs

I played at the first Kendal Calling festival in 2006. Headliners that weekend were Pendulum and British Sea Power. No really crazy stories...I drank Little Man Tate's Red Stripes, and my singer was hanging with BSP backstage. It was a lovely day so that helps and has now grown into a pretty huge festival up North! I was digging in pretty hard (nerves maybe?) and ended up rubbing the skin off my wrist and bled all over my P-Bass. Good times. Nice to think I was there at the beginning
10. Very nice, I miss the days when I built pedals. I made a red llama too, and it sounded excellent on bass. Someone on here has it now I think. I believe the infamous Bogdan Polish Love is based on the llama too.
11. Hello friends. I'm selling my girlfriends guitar and amp. Bought brand new from Promenade in Morecambe about a year and a half ago. Both have limited use and are collecting dust now! I'd rather sell as one item and not split and collection from Lancaster would be ideal. This would be great for someone wanting a good soundign guitar or just starting on 6 strings and not wanting to break the bank. Included in the sale are.....stand, the guitar, strap, gigbag, the amp, a lead and ermmm 5 strings (Rotosound 9's). I think it's either the D or G that's on the guitar and not in the pack. Here's a couple of pics! Enjoy! PM me offers! Go!
12. Hi Nath, I totally forgot about your offer actually! I've just put my name down to try the Barefaced Compact that's going round the country, so it would be excellent to try the bassman when it arrives. Are you up north much these days? If you're interested we could try the Compact with the bassman and sunn PM me if you like
13. Forgot to say, I'm away most of September so if it's due to come to me in September I'll have to pull out as I don't want to keep hold of the cab for 3 weeks when other people could be using it. I guess we'll know nearer the time whereabouts it is.
14. Due to various things (not least of which being a pallet of woofers vanishing) revised routes as follows: Route 1: musicman20 cleethorpes casapete hull finbar sheffield sean.robinson rotherham monz barnsley hubrad bradford rik (esa) bradford wateroftyne newcastle delberhot camelon lemmywinks blackpool umcoo lancaster josh3184 preston guyl manchester bassbunny manchester bass culture chester protium chester mike 257 wirral steve soar wirral I'd like to be added in Lancaster if possible? I'm through in Blackpool quite regularly for work and Preston's 30 mins away aswell. Hope that's ok. Cheers
15. How dirty can Fender Bassmans get? I've played vegashooker's 135 and it had a wonderful tone, but I can't recall if it was really driven hard. I'm throwing around the idea of a Bassman 70 or 100 and a Barefaced Compact so I can be loud enough for gigs, but get into power amp overdrive pretty easily. Thanks for all the suggestions already, by the way!
16. I've seen those Mywatts before, but never seen any way to buy one, or even know a price. Any one know? I guess I should just email them
17.
Keep gassin! One will come up....then that Pinkerton bass tone is yours
Haha, I feel you know me so well!
18. Sudgens just went for £800
19. Also, I thought Sound Citys were well know for clean sounds. I've got a Pork Loin and a Big Muff to dirty things up, but I want a slightly gritty sound just from an amp, and the pedals to add some more drive.
20. That SVT 2 isn't far from me at all. About half an hours drive. Isn't too bad a price either, although it'll take a couple of months for me to save up for it. I was thinking of more low wattage amps that I can crank to get a driven sound, kinda 100-200 watts.
21. I'm looking for a good old dirty sounding valve amp, something akin to Orange or Matmp, but without the huge price tag. What other valve amps are out there that get gradually nastier and ballsier the more gain you add? Go!
22.
I think a few people get confused over this one. In all the VT1 and VT2 pedals when not in by-pass the valve or valves are on all the time and hence there is soft clipping which is what valves do. On the VT1-MK3 model there is also a Si and Ge switch, this does not switch the vlave off but does add Si or Ge diode clipping to the existing valve tone. I hope that helps
Thanks for clearing that up Dave. I was pretty sure the DHA did have valve clipping. Anyhoot...to the OP, if you can stretch a bit more for a DHA you shall be rewarded with IMO, better tonezz
