  1. I've been looking at these for ages and would love one for busking.. the only thing putting me off is the price of the battery pack..€200 for a battery seems excessive... its a 35v unit and I haven't been able to find a cheaper alternative... GSS seem to make very good gear though so I'm sure the quality is great
  2. Thanks for all the replies everyone, especially to those who have actually tried the combination... I dont have a One10 yet but I plan on getting one in the future and it sounds like I'm safe enough stacking it with my Supercompact as long as I'm not tearing the a**e out it volume wise... That wasn't the plan anyway, I generally dont require huge volume in the bands I play with so its more about the tone... in saying that I had a few louder than normal festival type gigs earlier in the summer when I really just need to move alot more air than usual so I committed the mortal sin of stacking my SC along with a non Barefaced cab, a TC RS210.. my head is a Quilter BB800... odd as it sounds the combination worked great, tons of volume but really decent phat and punchy tone too.. and I had the Supercompact sitting on top of the 2x10!! I had a ton of compliments about my bass tone from the other lads in the band with that rig, and they never give out compliments!! .. go figure
  3. I'm sure this has probably been answered somewhere but I cant find the post... Has anyone gigged this combination? Liked it or hated it? I have read that Barefaced dont recommend mixing the 10 and 12 " drivers etc but someone must have tried it anyway just for pig iron 😛
  4. I have a Quilter BB800 which I also love so I'm not stuck.. sometimes though I just love the tone from the RH450, especially with my old 70s jazz bass.. they just seem to be a perfect match.. lots of nice stuff out there these days and most of it is pretty good, even the cheaper end of the market
  5. yeah I dont want to spend too much on it... its almost 10 years old and has been heavily gigged... in fairness it owes me nothing but I'm still very fond of it
  6. Hopefully its repairable... I love the amp.. not many repair guys around here unfortunately so I'll probably end up having to send it somewhere
  7. so could that be caused by the fan not working?
  8. Thanks for the replies lads.. I will need to check that the fan is still working.. I haven't noticed anything like a P or H on the display while this was happening to be honest... I will test it again and keep a closer eye on the display
  9. Fairly old amp at this stage, it has been very reliable but recently has started cutting out during gigs, not shutting down completely, just losing power at higher volumes and when digging in a bit during a tune.. suddenly the volume will drop or disappear completely for a few seconds then cut back in again.. this is happening all the time now so I've had to stop using the head for live gigs.. it appears to be fine at lower volumes so I can still use it at home etc... Just wondering what might be causing this issue? Not that I can repair it myself, I'm useless that way, but I would like to steer whoever I get to repair it in the right direction.. could it be a power supply issue maybe?
  10. I sold my RH450/RS210 rig several years ago to a local bass player... he recently gave up playing and was getting shot of all his gear so I bought the rig back for an embarrassingly small amount of cash just because it was such a good deal... know they have had their day in the sun at this stage but its still a great sounding rig for pretty much any genre and will cope with reasonably large rooms too... I'm very happy to have it back again 🙂
  11. Bought a Zoom MS60B from Bas... totally hassle free transaction and the pedal is great fun! Buy in confidence from this gentleman!
  12. Never heard this before.. its great... thanks for posting 🙂
  13. Agree whole heartedly... mine is never out of my signal chain... most of the preset patches are very usable too, I especially love one called 'Motown' ... its perfect with a P Bass and flats and injects just the right amount of warmth, punch and sag for that 'old' tone if you like that kinda thing... best 40 quid I ever spent 🙂
  14. I have had one of these for a few years and I love it... its perfect for smaller gigs with EUB or double bass but no slouch with a regular bass guitar either, punchy and exceptionally clean... your bass will sound exactly like... your bass! .. I use mine for a weekly pub session with a bunch of (unamplified) trad Irish musicians and its the ideal combo for that kind of situation... GLWTS 🙂
  15. This is a Beauty.. and I totally agree with this comment, its by far the most logical way to mark a fretless neck and the easiest to play too.. always baffles me why so very few fretless boards are lined this way.. GLWTS
  16. I wonder how something like this would work for busking with a lower wattage combo, like 25-50w max? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jackery-PowerBar-Portable-Generator-23200mAh/dp/B07CKSPVM8/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_60_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=32XPSDXCV73QJ693JDEJ
  17. Just bought a nice little mini fretless from Aidan... Fantastic comms from the start and he even insisted that I try the bass out before he would take any money from me... considering I live in Ireland and he had to pack and ship the bass to me first I thought this was a really nice gesture and very trusting indeed! The bass was well packed and arrived in good shape... I have no hesitation in recommending Aidan as a seller... top notch stuff!
  18. Hi... yes it really is incredibly comfortable to wear and play... its a normal 34" scale
  19. Having succumbed to some recent and unexpected vintage bass GAS I find myself needing to recoup some funds so I am selling my amazing lightweight Jake L 4P Classic Precision Bass from Maruszczyk Instruments in Germany. This is a superb bass in every way and weighs only 3.1kg ( just under 7lbs) making it extremely comfortable to play even for long periods, its like wearing a feather, seriously!! The bass is less than 1 year old and was bought new by me from Pierre Ganseman at https://bassfreaks.net/. Great warm and punchy P Bass tone from the Alder body combined with the Delano pickup, these really are extremely well made instruments as many members on here already know. Currently strung with nice new GHS Pressure wounds (rounds) which sound really great but I can put an almost new set of D' Addario chrome flats on if you prefer a more old school tone. Condition is pretty much as I bought it, in other words its absolutely mint, like new! This model is creeping up on £950stg for a new one nowadays so I think my asking price is very fair. The bass is located in Ireland but shipping to the UK and other European countries can be arranged in a used but very robust hard case. Any other questions please PM and I'll do my best to answer asap.. No trades I'm afraid, need the money on this occasion... Here is a video of this very bass being demonstrated by Adrian from Maruszczyk Instruments before it left his shop:
