1.
Daft Punk-the Tron legacy film score.....awsome peice of work !!!!
Agreed! Great soundtrack! I'm listening to A venutian Spring by Angel Vivaldi. A 1-man band project, instrumental. I generally don't like very guitar "solo" based music but he seems to do it as melodies rather than solos', which I love! http://youtu.be/fJ5ky6oxNho
2. Ive only ever had right hand fingertip pain if I was tapping (i mean trying to tap). I powered through it now I don't get it any more!
3.
But you have to wade through a lot of dross to find the quality! And none of it was any good for helping me learn Dream Theater's "Pull me under". That is just a silly bass line anyway!
I used a youtube video with the intention of learning "In the Name of God" and I have to say it worked pretty well! got to maybe 3:20 in and then I realized I really didn't have enough ability to play the rest of it though
4.
Any awkward bits that I can't quite work out, I might resort to youtube - but there are a lot of poor covers on there!
There really is! I will admit, I have a few of them though. If I go to YouTube I make sure it's someone who's pretty accurate, and I generally just use it as a rough guideline.
5. Just wondering what everybodies approach is to learning some cover songs are, whether you use tabs or do everything by ear. If you learn by ear what are some ways you've managed to be able to do that? I either learn by ear (but it takes ages and I'm cr*p at it) or by watching videos of covers/live shows.
6. meh.
7.
I guess he couldn't tell you because they send the result out 2 weeks after the exam but sounds like he was giving you the heads up :-) My 10 year old didn't have a clue with his Drums Grade 2 until the certificate came through with 81% on the marking paper. I agree they ought to tell you there and then..... Everyone knows what the pass rates are and he knows what he's given you WTF
I have a small inclination that he just said that to annoy me...he never liked me
8. I've never understood the grading systems for the Rockschool exams. Done my grade 6 as part of my college course and after it (after I asked if it was a pass) my tutor said "I think so". I don't think he knows either. Anybody shed some light on this? Also, good luck to anybody taking these exams!
9.
Value/Price doesn't come into it for me, I gig what I own. My basses range in value from £200 - £5000 and I don't consider the value when I'm doing a gig, as they are instruments to be played and enjoyed.
I wish there was a 'love' button for that.
10. Only have one bass and it was under £500.

He done a guest lecture at my college. Thoroughly nice guy and was brilliant on both bass and guitar.
12.
OK. Here you go:
First gig and I had been playing 8 months and knew 3 out of 7 of the songs. My god I look terrified!
13. I'll be entirely honest here. In most RHCP recordings he comes up with some great sounding lines but for my liking he shows off a fair amount and I've never enjoyed the whole incredibly fast slap thing he does. I'm not knocking him, I'm just not a fan.

15. Although I hated the film with every fibre of my being. The soundtrack from the film 'Mamma Mia' is pretty great when it comes to the bass tracks. I don't know if the actual music tracks are the same in ABBA songs but they're pretty good in that film.
16. It's nice to be nice
17. You'll have a PM soon
18. Alone by Evan Brewer Tales from the punch bowl by Primus And if you like/can appreciate metal L.D.50 by Mudvayne Fortress by Protest the Hero

20. No love for the flange?
21. I can honestly say I've learned and improved my playing so much due to his basslines. They've been nothing but inspirational for me. "Nothing to Gein" has a heavy, funky and beautiful bassline all in one. He's my top rated bassist in all honesty.
