2. yeh :-(
3. I thought i'd treat you all to another one
4.
Isn't it a 'trueism' that the General Public only notice when things are really bad and hardly ever notice when things are really good?
I think people notice difference and contrast, so if they hear a crap band, and then a good one, it makes the first band sound worse than they are, and the second band sound better than they are. It would be impossible to notice if something was "really good" if it had always been really good and there was nothing to compare it to.
5. MT-2 is quite good on bass btw. Anyone else ever tried an ibanez SS10? I use it, driving with a bit of OD from my zoom and mixed with clean/compressed. It's seriously noisy and very heavy for playing the old drop-D power chords (on bass - incase i get misunderstood).
6. If for any reason that doesn't go through, I will take the preamp.
7. There are loads of different "no name" DI boxes out there. I think it's nothing special.
8. DI box?
9. I bought one off Higgie (i think) and it's great! The blend is very useful, and I have been using the feedback loads.

*edit*

The one tayste said was an NS2 doesn't look white to me, it looks silver.
11.
I salivated over this bass many a time. The wife even sanctioned it's purchase, but alas, common sense got the better of me.
How often does this happen? By the time she's so nice that she lets you have it, you feel guilty about wanting it!
12. Some are good, others not! I really like my ibanez CP5, but it does take away a little low end. I like this feature, but you may not. They do a BP5 which is a good indicator that the CP5 is not appropriate for bass, but....... like anything, it's how it sounds to your ears.
13. Harry - I meant to say that if you're local (which I get the impression you are) you could come and have a go of some of my compressors. I have digitech bass squeeze, ibanez CP5, boss LMB-3, and Zoom B2.1U which has quite a few compressors but they're not that easy to use.
14.
I think you may prefer a limiter rather than a compressor. I use a Behringer BLE100 which is very similar to the Boss LMB-3.
I agree.
15. So about the Alan Partridge dvd menu....... Don't you think he looks too groovy to not know what he's doing? Maybe Alan's a secret bassist!
16.
boss - bass overdrive dont get the hate for these can get some awesome grindy tone if you roll of the highs on it i use this with a big muff i modded to be a lil less harsh and have more low end then i stick an eq at the end of it all for epic tone ;o
I love my ODB-3. I use it mostly for boosting low end, and adding some subtle dirt, but it's a very versatile pedal.
17. There are lots of threads and posts about this. Maybe we should have a "distortion discussion" sticky? Distortion/OD/Fuzz pedals are all subjective. You can get opinions about the reliability of a pedal, but apart from that..... Eveyone's got a different bass, and amp, and EQ settings, and all these contribute to the distorted sound too. I think it's quite wideley accepted that a clean blend for bass distortion is a good thing - retaining your low end, and giving a punchier overall tone. This can be done in pedals with a mix function, or using a blending pedal or loop. I have tried quite a few different distortion pedals with bass, but i've found something useful with most of them, so my opinion is a bit worthless!
18. You should use a limiter to even out spikey pedals IMO. I put compression near the start, sometimes after EQ, and limiting at the end.
19. An overdrive pedal, or a limiter-enhancer would both give you some compression, a potential level boost, and some more top end to help the attack of your slap cut through. I think this is the solution.
20. Heh, good post Kneal! I meant to say before that I practice stoned as well, so when I get to a gig, it's no problem.
21. My only other cab is broken at the moment :-( There's another thread about it. What makes you think it's a blown speaker? I might just try and sell some stuff and buy that T-max rig in the for sale section.
22. That's a pretty cool peice of gear. I'd have that just for a usb X-Y recording pair! No money atm though :-(
23. I have a pint, but only to quench the thirst created by the fat doobie i've just smoked :-p I don't mind doing gigs sober, I just get bored before we play. I play "better" when i'm a little "herbal" as i'm more relaxed. I could use any number of other techniques to make me relax instead though. Alchohol doesn't seem to affect the way I play or feel on stage, although that's from my POV.
24. I don't mind if there's a delay, but I want to know when I will get the item. I've bought 3 items off BC so far, and they have all gone smoothly, but, I have always had to request a delivery date, rather than being told "you should have it ...." or then "sorry, there's been a delay, you will have it....". I don't think you can expect business-like service from a public forum like this. Some of us will make more, or less effort, but our perceptions are all different too, so someone who thinks they're a great seller, may be a crap one!
25. I've had our latest EP pressed with the track info. It comes up on my sony car stereo, which is cool! I don't see any reason not to do it.
