1. You're lucky! It took a bouquet of lilies and roses, a Hello Kitty teddy, chocolates, and a dvd to get me out of the doghouse once
2.
My missus comes if she fancies it and she doesn't mind me having a bass room.
You're allowed a BASS ROOM?
3. Can I just say, that those front ported MAG cabs sound absolutely fantastic, and they don't make them any more! Someone should at least try it out! Good luck with the sale krth
4. I don't get on with P Basses at all, but if I had the money even i would buy that for that price. Lovely bass
5. The frontman in my band makes his own cables. I don't know what he uses, but he's never had any cable related problems that I've seen
6. Tal Wilkenfeld is a fantastic player. Proof that bass isn't just a beardy man's instrument
7.
Have you ever had this situation? You meet a new partner. They love the fact you play bass, especially in a band. They brag to their friends that they're seeing someone 'who is a musician and plays in a band'. They come and watch you at every gig and love it. After a few months they get bored. They then ask why you need to rehearse so much. They then ask why you need to be at the venue so early when you're not on until much later. They then get pissed off because you don't spend much time with them at gigs, despite the fact that you have to set up, sound check, do the gig, then pack up afterwards. They then accuse you of flirting with someone in the audience. Been there?
All of these, except the last 2, thankfully I think part of it is that she thinks my current band suck
8. I use whirlwind cables, never had any problems and even though they're fairly expensive I believe they're worth the money. There may well be better out there, I've just never needed to look
9. Out of interest what's the impedance on the Ashdown cab? And is it the one with the black speakers, or the blue ones?
10. Ken Smith Ate My Hamster!
11.
tried a different power supply or getting a higher gain pedal?
Yeah, I even used to use a pile of batteries before i got my power supply! It's literally the amount of distortion I use on a few of my settings that causes it. But those are both worth trying out so hopefully someone else'll find that suggestion useful. Cheers!
12. WHO IS TIM STEVENS AND WHY DOESN'T HE SELL FUNK MACHINES ON THIS SITE?
13. Playing with people you get on with is always a huge bonus! Glad to hear it went well mate. Keep up the good work and we'll all be wishing you luck on your first gig soon enough!
14.
Yeah my lot didnt even notice I was 40 minutes late!!!!!!!!!!!!
For a gig?
15. The EHX Neo Clone is only £50 and is a great sounding, simple to use but versatile chorus. (Not to be confused with the Nano Clone!) No noise, no volume drop, and true bypass!
16. "WE ARE HAPPY TO OFFER:..." Yeah I'd be happy to offer a piece of sh*t for the best part of a grand too!
17. I only found out they were called IEC leads 2 days ago. A bit late to answer your OP now, but I'd have said to just buy a cheap kettle from Argos
18. Is it just me, or does it look like the backplate thing was bolted on higgledy piggledy after the bass was originally made? Maybe to hide evidence of a break?? (That's assuming it's a real Rick of course!)
19.
P'shopped for now, but a few dabs of black & white paint should do the real thing.
That is the coolest thing ever. Do it!!!
20. That's a great looking bass! A Passive Ray... wow!
21. Lozz, would you say your Nemesis cab is more efficient than an Ampeg 4x10?
22. Actually... I keep being tempted by those DBX compressor/gates, and it's come to my attention that even John Myung uses them in his current rig. What's the gating like on those? If I had one of those I'd have more space on my board for lovely pedals!
23. I've gotta say the red one does look prettier now I've seen proper photos of both!
