1. All my 4 string have D tuners on. I find them very useful. I also play 5 strings. Different tools for different tasks.
2. Calais disruption is causing loads of postal delays from the Rest of Europe. It's not Thomanns fault. After all, they are not French truckers!
3.
so how about a nice basschat members discount ?
It's already on discount!
4. I have coveted that since I first saw it. But with my back -nothing over 9.5 lb gets in my house. Gutted.
5. I've never tried mine straight into a power amp. I'll have to give that a go. I see Thomann are doing the Limited version at the same price as the standard one - £247.64 delivered. I'd be tempted, but I think I want a Vintage Deluxe next.
6. Can I ask why it isn't Centre-neg? That seems to be the way 99% of new pedals are.
7. Those twonks at Amazon delivered another wrong pickup. So while I'm swapping that again, I've installed a set of Hipshot Ultralites tuners. I've gone for Y shape rather than the clover design as the Y versions are the lightest. That change has knocked off 1/2 pound and got my already light Ray to under 9 lb. it balances way better too.
8. Zon don't. The Hyperbass just has a 3 octave neck.
9. Jonnydoghouse (who happens to run Tricky Audio - the UK builders for Greenboy cabs) bought my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 and rack mount. Communications were great, payment was fast and he let me know it had arrived safely. All good!
10. Marleaux. Amazing instruments. I'd get a Betra with a few tweaks to the standard design.
11. Strewth. I was just curious about current Class A/B amps and what was good! Not really even planning on buying, just curious!
12. Awesome colour. I'm gassing for a 4 string VS passive in that colour! I'd have to sell stuff first and I'm not very good at that!!
13.
Here's my VM5 - custom ordered from Bass Direct; arrived a couple of weeks ago, and I've hardly put it down since. I love it.
Is that Marley Blue?
14. I swapped to the Neotech Mega Bass strap because of this. More comfy too.
15.
Myy house is insured through John Lewis. The contents cover covers instruments inside and outside the house, but I cant remember offhand what the single item limit is - I think is £2k. I fail to see why getting paid for gigs comes up in the insurance enquiry, I certainly wouldn't volunteer this info, but if they ask you'd have to tell them.
If you fail to tell something that might affect the policy then they can refuse to pay out. Paid gigs means more travel often at unsocial hours with a greater risk of theft. Therefore higher premium.
16. I had no idea Tecamp were doing 1u tiny amps - I'd only seen the 2u ones. I've had a few of their cabs - an M212 and a S210 and they were both brilliant. Might have to try their amps now!
17. Judging by my gig on Saturday, "Happy Days" is impossible. I played like a donkey.
18. What are the Mesa Carbine heads like?
