1.
Don't know if this'll be of any use/interest to anyone on basschat. Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe pedal complete with original box, instructions etc. All analogue circuit with true bypass switching. Works perfectly & is in good cosmetic condition - the previous owner made some white chinagraph pencil marks on the front & took off the rubber pad on the bottom & replaced it with Velcro squares. Only ever used it on guitar so I have no idea what it would be like with a bass. £70.00 inc P+P
These sound amazing with bass, tried one out not so long ago. If i was not getting a pickle vibe soon i would have this off you. Good luck with sale though.
  2. Ok i think this is the right place for this topic Does any one know any thing about the Tonmister course and does any one think its worth getting it, the list of things you need to get on its crazy. You need an A in physics, maths and music A level as well as a grade 7 or 8 in performance Am studying music production at the moment (FDA) but finding that the course is A, to easy and B, not really about any thing i really want to do. Any help would be amazing.
  3.
Im getting into my 11th year of playing bass.. ive had a few boutique-ish basses.. i adored the Sei i had.. but i really cant see me playing a bass with a sexy wood top now.. im talking spaltedmapleburlishroseofthemountain... im getting more and more interested in cheaper basses and what i can do with them mod wise and musically...my SR5 is the bomb..ok its a little flashy but nothing brash.. not expensive but is possibly the best 5 on the planet.. im not knocking the boutique basses but personally, and this is just me, i would feel like a posh kid who has spent too much money.. if i had £5000 to spend on only bass..., i would prob buy basses under £1000, and mod them to my liking.. i feel i have enough knowledge to mod a bass that could keep up with any £2000 + instrument.. but lets face it, most can its just personal...
So i take it from this you will not be ordering a ritter bass any time soon then
  4.
Your girlfriend is gonna hate you - you dragged her to the bass show last weekend... and this weekend, you'll shun her for the new lady in your life
That she will be but i will be more than happy, plus she got the bass show tickets, she knew what she was getting into lol Yeah next time we bump into each other we should have a GB jam mate
  5.
I wasnt actually at the show, just made enquiries about the GB basses that were there. The custom guitar I played was actually a Guitar, a custom built JJ Hucke and it was amazing. Very very jealous of you having a GB with Ebody board though. So it seems the general consensus is that Ebody makes no difference really! Well it still looks and feels beautiful so I think I would still like a Ebody necked bass. Currently eyeing up the roasted neck, ebody board Ball Family Reserve Stingray!
I would say go for one, i have played maple for years and the one day i played a mates les paul and was like this would rock on bass and that was that. If you ever end up near eastbourne you more than welcome to give mine a go and see what you think. Am picking her up sat wahooo happy days. Hope this thread has helped you
  6.
Was nice to catch up again. Yup - it's a beaut alright! This Spitfire absolutely sings! A few more pics due soon so I'll do some updating...
Yeah was cool to catch up mate and it was a great day, am so going to the bass show again next year. But some thing has to be done about the slap I will picking her up sat, can not believe, its going to be a good weekend oh yes
  7. Its been a long winter but finally the wait is nearly over. Cant wait to get her now, played her at the bass show and it was amazing, just the amount of tones you can get is amazing. Many fun times to be had, god am a happy man
  8.
I am just wondering if anyone out there owns or has played a bass with a fretted Ebony board? I know it is used on fretless basses quite a bit, but I dont see many fretted Ebony basses. Reason I ask is that I have a squier with "Ebanol" fingerboard which is like a dark simulated synthetic ebony and it has amazing punch and clarity and the strings seem to be permanantly bright on that bass. I just love it and want to know, if this is what Ebony sounds like, does it have similar charatersitics to what I loosely described? I played a custom guitar the other day with an ebony fretboard and it was beautiful and I now have real GAS for Ebony Jazz.
just wondering but what custom bass did you play? I only ask because i saw that you where at the bass show, and had a go on a GB and if thats the case that bass you played with an ebony board might have been mine I love ebony to me it feels like the black maple, its so smooth and you get a real mid growl with it.
  9.
There are a couple of Wal owners near brighton
Just going to have to hunt them down now then and see if they can help.
  10.
I would say try and find a friendly basschatter with one near you or take a road trip and visit Mark at Bass Direct as he seems to have a few in at the moment.
Road trip might be on then Unless i find some one closer that is, cheers dude

  13. This is such a great bass and barks is a pleasure to do business with. And its a great price for a great bass Thought i would add my 2 cents
  14. Now that is a good price and a great bass, i really would love a Wal but i seem to be £2500 short of you asking price Good luck with the sale, dont think you will have any problems this will go quick.

  17. Is this whole 2010 delux thing just fender ripping off sadowsky? they look the same and the pre amp appers to be the same as well, funny really as sadowsky ripped off fender lol What does every one else think then?
  18.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP! Come on people! I'm starting to have second thoughts about selling it, but really I ought to. So my wife tells me. It's on eBay, but I'd rather a proper person bought it (that's you). There many watchers on SleazeBay, but they're probably all spotty teenagers with hoodies or something. Unless you are one of the watchers, in which case that was a joke. Oh yes, and I've mentioned elsewhere on Basschat that I might be up for trading for a PJB extension cabinet for my suitcase. You never know...
If this was a 4 string i would have had it off you by now god damm extra string!!!
  19. The best sounding Rumour without a doubt was the blue Rumour that got killed on the Mika tour. Literally offcuts of wood glued together and painted up (hence why he'll never sell it) - yet for some reason, it just sings... well, it did... until it got killed on the Mika tour.
That'll be because of this then...... I had the pleasure of playing this bass when I was playing with Paul Carrack and my GB was being reviewed by Dave Marks. It was a stunning playing and sounding bass. Will be much missed.
News i think you will like then is that the blue Rumour is now back and fully restored, saw it yesterday and god it does soung good. she is back from the dead lol
  20.
B u M p ... ... still loking for £2499 ovno ... (so you don't have to check back to p.1)
I have no idea how this has not gone yet bump
  21.
No .. despite the 63 watchers, only managed one slightly low offer (have messaged the offerer to ask if he's actually interested/serious and might increase the offer post-ebay). I decided to try ebay first as there were a couple already listed here on BC ... but I think they've been well-considered by now. Thanks - I guess they're all pretty much 'great' basses; but this is a nice/original example with some beautiful grain and a popular wood combination.
I was one of the watchers and god i would love this bass so very much, have loved wal for such a long time. Really want to try one just never had the chance but god they sound so so good. Good luck with the sale i will be keeping an eye on this one.
  22.
Can probably sort that out.
Well we will have to do that, well when i get her that is
  23.
Yup, walnut with a burr walnut top. Similar to this one then...? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11329 Would make a killer pair of basses. Welcome to the dark side
If it looks as good as that am a happy bunny indeed although i have gone for an ebony finger board so mine will be super duper dark from head to toe, will have to call her the black beauty me thinks... yeah thats right gibson, you heard am cailling her the balck beauty Just wish i had a time machine and then i would be really happy At some point the basses might have the picture taken together, you never know.
  24.
May. Ha. Keep dreaming
strange you say that, a bassist i know also said if you get it in may it will be a miricle. God i just want it here now though, the jazz am playing is killing me! And every time i go to see berinie and then play on a spitfire am like come build man build lol But that said i get my fafner in jan so that will help till then. well i hope so

    GB guitars

Gb rocks, I have one on order and can not wait till she is built. It will be the only bass i play for a long time, every thing else just seems so flat once you have played GB the active circutry is just amazing, the first time i had a go on a spit fire, it just sounded amazing, you can really get any sound out of them but yet they have there own sound. Yes they do cost a bit, but worth every penny. Bernie will talk you through every thing. And you will keep it for the rest of your life. so 2500 plus for the rest of your life, not really that much.
