1. Bump for PRICE DROP Now £750 These are fantastic cabs, very lightweight, extremely well built. Ampeg SVT410HLF GAS at the moment. Dave
2. Hey You i had High Hopes of you Learning to Fly but Money Speaks To Me Louder Than Words Dave
3. Great that one has gone Karl but I would have thought buying the matched pair would have been the better choice giving loads of trouser flapping especially with the weight of these meaning you can easily carry two and small enough not to take up lots of car space. Hope the other goes soon for you. Another wee BUMP from me Dave
4. Good luck this time Karl. Great guy to do business with so buy in absolute confidence. Good prices and always an accurate description. All the best mate Dave
5. This is my fav bass of all. They are fantastic to play and at this price i might consider a 2nd one if i thought my wife would let me. Fantastic price Someone is gona have a bargain here. GLWTS Dave
6. My Warwick Thumb i couldn't sell. Love it for its playability. My Jazz is my goto bass for most things tho. My Overwater custom 6 fretless cause it was 50th birthday pressie from wife and its great fun. If i had to pick one it would be the Warwick as it would be difficult to get an original with this feel. Dave
7. Recording the odd gig or rehearsal lets the band hear warts and all how they sound and how balanced the overall sound is. I've found this an invaluable tool to highlight any playing issues. That way you are not pointing the finger directly and hopefully each member realises he's the one with the issue and needs to polish up his technique and playing. If need be suggest VID of the gig for a laugh or for advertising purposes to get the band into the idea. Bass players need to be sneaky Dave
8. Yeh but if you decide to sell it on you will need to send the box covered in tape and you might get the blame. Should have been wrapped in paper or in another box. If you had recieved it this was from a shop you would have sent it back altho not practical in this case and looks like just gona have to accept the sender was a bit lacking in value of original packaging for any item. I thought everyone watched Antiques Roadshow these days. Original box goes a long way into value of item Dave
9.
I have a musician friend who has just reached 65 and retired from a sensible job. He's now become the long haired,, bearded, hippie, freak. he's always wanted to be.
That's my plan without the beard tho. Always had long hair since 16 on leaving school. Waist length at its peak Dave
10. Really nice thoroughly enjoyed and set me up for the day. You can't beat some nice fretless playing in the morning thanks for posting Dave
11. That's a bit of a bargain. All the best with the sale Welcome Dave
12.
To be fair, I guess I was a bit peeved when I first saw the ad, my reaction was "HOW MUCH" but now I'm pretty cool with it, as you say It's nothing to do with me.... I don't like the Jazz though, so if anybody wants it, it's yours for £1500 (only joking)
I'll give you a £1 for it and you deliver and bring the biccies, coffee and milk. I'll supply the water and send you the bill. How's that for a deal. I'd just move on - you got what you thought it was worth so no point in worrying about it. That's life. Shame you didn't like the bass tho. Dave
13.
Brilliant
OR you could be the bass player that is about to get fired and have only just found out reading this All sounds dodgy to me and pay is pretty pathetic for a band that supposedly has some interest from record labels. At that stage i would think they would be demanding a substantial fee for their gigs. Maybe not - i shall discuss with the great Oracle in the Sky. Mmmmm !!!!! Dave
14.
I've recently acquired a pair of AE112's secondhand from Bass Direct for a similar price to what your asking. I think your asking price is a fair and reasonable one. GLWTS.
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback. That's where these came from. Mark at Bass Direct is excellent to do business with. How are you finding the Bergs ? Dave
15. Thanks mate, they are great cabs but i struggle to justify them sitting in the house not doing anything. They deserve to be out there gigging. I might even give them an airing this weeks epic 6 hr rehearsal. Dave
16.
Hmmmm, Markbass you say (forget the amp, it's superb and going nowhere) I wonder where one might get two Markbass Traveler 102P's (Italian) plus Roqsolid covers plus £150 without the need for a Gamma pad that could be sold separately. I also wonder where the innocent looking emoticon is
You're certainly a try'er Karl but i'm just not sure i'm looking for anything specific to trade. I'd rather just sell at this point and then decide what i was looking for with cash in hand. I really need to get myself into Glasgow and try out some new gear. I still have a notion for the Ampeg SVT4x10HLF to match my SVT4 pro. Don't have enough knowledge or experience of Markbass gear apart from band that was in next rehearsal room last week had a small Markbass combo that was loud as my Ampeg and crystal clear but loads of depth as well. I'll wait a while yet before looking at trades. Sorry mate Dave
17. Pete Trewavas from Marillion and Transatlantic used the Laney set up on a tour and it sounded good. i've no hands on experience myself but have looked at them. Dave
18.
I had the pleasure of meeting another BCer this weekend and tried what \I guess was a Bergantino AE212, powered with my Mark Bass LM3. It sounded great. He sold the 212 for around the £800 mark. It's amazingly light and sound is good and clean. So you can always add some dirt using a pedal and get the RIGHT amount of dirt in the sound, if you want dirt that is. This set your selling has more versatility (use 1 only for smaller gigs) and more tweeter-power. I reckon the price is about right. The looking is a bit like selling an Aston Martin, you'll get plenty of wanna-be owners, but it will be a bit rich for a lot of tastes; me included. But the price is fair IMHO. All you need is the right viewer, that may take 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months... GLWTS
Thanks Grangur I'm not in any great rush to sell TBH but will leave running with the odd BUMP to keep up interest. Once i sell i'll look at options for buying something else. Might be another amp / cab / combo or maybe another bass but not sure what. Appreciate the feedback Dave
19.
Come up by Edinburgh and try a 410HLF... I have a 'normal' one and a Heritage.
That's a really nice offer and might take you up on it. BC is amazing for having realy nice people willing to help. I've tried the HLF with a Warwick amp i had in a studio and it sounded pretty impressive and is probably the main reason i am looking to be honest. Just wondered what it would be like with my SVT4. What amp are you using with it and what kind of bass just to give me an idea as a comparison. I mainly use a jazz. thanks Dave
20. Hi Karl Afraid i wasn't looking to trade unless someone had something that really caught my eye. I've got more basses than i need at the moment altho I don't have a precision to be honest. Blue Ric has a certain attraction but had one years ago and found very limited. I just love the look of them. Haven't really made my mind up what i was going to buy when i sell the Berg's. I still have a notion for the Ampeg SVT 4x10 HLF cab to match my SVT4 pro but would like to try out first. Did have a recent notion for some Markbass gear but that would mean starting from scratch again to get full rig. I'm in no rush to sell the Bergs as i am using the HT322. Just that they were sitting there not getting any use which was a bit of a waste TBH. Appreciate the offer and the suggestion to trade tho. Thanks Dave
21. i wasn't sure if it made a difference or not and wanted to keep the amp as original. If all GT types that should make it easier. I'll look at Watford valves and see what they recommend tho Thanks for feedback guys Dave
22. I've had a WAL custom fretless years ago but have never seen one this colour. Absolute stunner. Good luck with the sale Dave
23. I'd love that to sit atop my HT322 or on its own for smaller gigs Good luck with the sale Dave
24. EDITED to add the Gramma pad BNIB worth £55 new if that helps. I bought specifically for these cabs but don't need it with my HT322 cab. Dave
25. sorry Ahpook didn't word that clearly Should have asked what manufacturer the other 2 12ax7 tubes are. I'm pretty sure i read somwhere they were EH types Dave
