  1. I'd never heard it before. Glam covers band want to do it and i thought it would sound pretty good in a Glam Rock set. I'll probably get the bass part sorted by ear but having the original manuscript would be great to nail it perfectly. I know there was a manuscript for it but can't seem to get it for free and being a Scot i grudge paying for it Dave
  2. Does anyone have Marmalade Radancer bass tab or manuscript. I've got most of it worked out but some of the minor changes he makes i can't seem to get my head around. Its not as if its a hard song to play or even a difficult bassline and i could get away with playing similar chord structures but i would like to cover it exactly as played by original I've searched several sites but can't seem to find it on any "free" sites. I guess i grudge paying for it just to get a few notes that i don't already have Dave
  3. Think the fact Haslip plays left handed with a RH string set up ie E string on the bottom makes it harder to play in his style. No matter what he is an incredible player and hugely entertaining musician. Dave
  4. I'm struggling to see where this thread is heading but some funny replies
  5. There's a Drumchat ???
  6. First came across Jimmy Haslip on Gino Vannelli album Brother to Brother. Outstanding bassist. Dave
  7. Always best to ask than never find out in my opinion.
  8. Do you think Mr Kimball is just having a laugh and taking the fosters out of the song ? Wonder what the rest of the gig was like.
  9. Since my shoulder and back ache has since gone i use the Gruv Gear strap as a solo and its first class.
  10. Thanks for the reply but its an old post from 2017. Managed to get a wiring diagram thru a Glasgow shop that were extremely helpful in contacting Godin direct and forwarding the diagram to me. Godin themselves never actually replied to any messages i sent them. All sorted now tho and i've since passe on the diagram to a few others on Basschat. Cheers Dave
  11. Nothing quite sounds like a WAL bass. Fantastic. Liked the 2nd track more but both 1st class playing. Dave
  12. Bass Direct Gruv Gear Duo works well
  13. Amazon was doing a deal on Kindle but not sure if its still available.
  14. Just back from holiday and The Craft Room was my only read for the week. The book was absolutely brilliant. Different subject from Weekend Warriors but i could see the similarities in humour coming thru. I lost count of the "I wasn't expecting that" moments and things took me completely by surprise throughout the book. I literally didn't want to put the book down after the first few pages but being on holiday meant things had to be done. "Relatively" speaking i'm glad i don't actually know you Dave. I'm now looking for the 3rd installment in your writing career Dave. Thanks for giving me 2 off the best books i've read in ages. If anyone out there is looking for a great book to read then get one of Dave's Both brilliant, both interesting and both make you want to read to the end without a break. I'M HOOKED Dave. Thanks Dave
  15. I have a smaller lightweight version of that but can't remember where i bought it. Pretty sure it was thru Amazon or Ebay shop. Dave
  16. Was more interested to know if they affect the sound from the cab. To be honest i've found the castors are quite helpful on this particular cab altho i agree that on paving or eneven ground they are a nuisance but overall once in the venue they are helpful. The cab is too heavy for a one man lift at my age and i'm currently looking to sell off some of my other gear to fund the new D800+ Mesa head and Subway cabs al being lightweight of course. I do have a folding trolley for gear tho. It might even have been after reading a comment from you on the subject in another thread. Dave
  17. I'm really quite curious as to why they are designed with castors and what manufacturers say on how best to use at a gig i.e. wheels on, wheels off. Think i'll send Bergantino an email to see what they say. Dave
  18. I have a couple of different cabs and just wondered about whether or not cabs should have their castor wheels removed at a gig. ? My Bergantino HT322 has removable castor wheels but i usually leave them on the cab. Have to say the cab sounds great that way but was curious to know whether they are designed to be removed at a gig and have the cab sit flat on floor ? Would removing them make much of a difference to the sound. ? My Orange cabs have a wooden strip. My Markbass and Trace cabs have the standard plastic style feet in each corner. Just curious. Dave
  19. 1986 toured UK with this rock band. Kind of ZZ Top meets AC/DC and Free style.
  20. Thanks didn't see the original thread.
  21. Just heard that Yamaha have bought Ampeg.
  22. And that story has to top all others. Handled very well by the drummer tho.
  23. Tusk by Fleetwood Mac is a song i hated because of excessive air play at the time. Just never enjoyed the song since those days and would hate to have to play that one Fleetwood Mac song. Dave
  24. Can't say i've read the story Steve but i can understand your thinking behind it Dave
