  1. Have to agree that the Ric 4005 isn't a bass i like the look off but i am a fan of the 4003 shape. I've not owned a Ric since 80's but i'm guessing they are still as good if not better quality than many Fender basses at same price tag. Dont know enough about Ric basses to comment on whether they are all good quality or like Fender have some poorer basses. On the subject of Ric basses i was surprised to see them For Sale again on BC. When did that happen ? Dave
  2. The Cave in Paisley Glasgow 6-9pm with the punk covers band. Start was fairly quiet with just about 12-15 people there but as we got intothe first set more people came in. Not what i call busy but an appreciative audience. 9pm finish means kebab shop on way home and back in the house for 11pm. Job done mmmmmmm. Dave
  3. Always a good feeling when that happens. Nice one.
  4. Should the vomit be more sunburst
  5. Kazoo comes in P or J format too.
  6. They also come in sunburst / tort. Job done
  7. Aye you got me there. 😂
  8. Ach you're just saying that. 😂 I bet you have a secret hanckering for one of these beauties. Dave
  9. Have to say i dont actually have a sunburst bass ........ at the moment. Just wondering if you tend to return to the colour and style of basses that were popular when you started out. Members of a certain age (obviously me) will return to those glorious days of sunburst / tort Fender basses. I have to admit after trying WoT's early P bass i now have a hankering for one. Dave
  10. Jings i forgot to get my bus pass 2 yrs ago. Once i get the bus pass i'll look at a matching sunburst / tort P bass. Dave
  11. The desire for every other finish but sunburst / tort is just a passing fad. You will eventually come back to the classic finish that we all love eventually . Its tradition and we all love tradition. 😂 You just dont realise it yet Dave
  12. Excellent stuff in there. Cheers @bassbiscuits Will go through some more clips later. Dave
  13. Elton John tribute would be a great band to play in. Love playing Elton classics. Bass lines are usually nice to play and more to them than you first think. We do Sat Night's Alright and i just love playing that song, probably one of my favs in the set. Nice one. Some live vids would be nice to see and hear the band or a link to your band FB page if available. Dave
  14. I fully understand why you posted @Clarky but i was wondering if people get the same experiences with other bass shops altho there arent many bass specific shops in UK to be fair. I wasn't aware there was a PMT thread too. I'll need to have a look at that thread. I've bought strings from PMT but that is the sum of my dealings as far as i can remember. Think everyone should highlight issues with shops etc altho i know you're aware of my recent posts that were not welcomed so much. I have very strong opinions on this subject. Dave
  15. Do BC'ers have similar issues with other bass shops. Just curious why we have singled out BD. As i've said in earlier posts i have no issues with BD and found them very helpful. Dave
  16. So jealous. Would love to visit the museum let alone play it. Nice one Blue. Dave
  17. We are a funny ole lot on BC. That old vintage look is what many seek in life. I quite like the sunburst and tort combo. My first bass was a Columbas Jazz copy in sunburst / tort. Always liked that in a bass. Dave
  18. When i did drink i limited it to one pint before and / or during a gig. Now i dont bother with drink too much and i'm always driving i just drink bottled water all night. Look at my avatar and you'll understand why i need water. Stages get very warm. Dave
  19. I love a jazz or P bass. They are my goto basses. Love the look of a Ric and would like one. Had a white one in 80's but couldn't get the sound I was looking for and sold it after few maths. Not a fan of those weird horn or single cut basses. I like good ole traditional styles. Had a WAL custom in 80's too and it was gorgeous. Oh happy days.
  20. Lovely jubbily. Look forward to your NBD report. Looks superb.
  21. My tech guy wouldn't give me any details but he was very impressed by the WB100 especially the power board. He has worked on many many all valve amps and liked what he saw.
  22. On the odd occasion when not using my amp rack I use a tuner and / or a comp pedal I sit them on my amp in the punk band. In the Glam band I use a sound effects pedal but I prefer that at front of stage as I need to switch on / off thru some songs. If you decide to go rack mount then consider the weight of your rack. Amp plus pedals, tuner and power supply all add up to quite a weight. My rack with amp and korg tuner is 24kg.
  23. Never realised how much I would miss adverts on tv. 4mins of blank screens as a mark of respect is hard work.
  24. Jimmy Haslip Sandin Wilson Both played with Gino Vanelli over the years. My others have already been mentioned.
  25. What was the venue out of curiosity.
