Bloody Hell, this looks interesting! Line 6 StageScape
Well if you have the desk at one side of the hall and want to check the mix at the other side you can adjust without walking back and forward. . Or no soundman you can have the desk on the stage for on the fly adjustments during the gig, out of peoples way and set it up FOH with little effort.
I know exactly what I'd be thinking whilst trying to tweak a 16 channel mixing desk on a 3" screen with sweaty fingers... -
I have a takamine acoustic with pre-amp, mine has served me well. I'm pretty sure the Fishman units are the industry standard that others aspire to and piezo under-saddle pickups will have same output config, therefore I'd be confident in swapping out a takamine for a fishman unit
+1 Fishman actually make a range of OEM products for brand name instrument manufacturers - so that Takamine preamp might be a Fishman anyway.

Yes, so if you slacken the pickup retaining screw at the end closest to the E string by 2mm the pickup should rise by 2mm at that end. That will bring that end of the pickup closer to the E string and compensate for the lack of volume you're getting on that string.
Thanks for the advice thus far, yeah i think measuring yourself against people you know or artists you hear is a big problem of it, its difficult to escape i guess, what with some less considerate people judging styles and sounds and gear etc
That's a real problem if you can't seperate 'you' from what you're hearing. Whilst having reliable equipment that you are comfortable with is incredibly important, owning a Geddy Lee signature bass is certainly not going to make you sound like Geddy Lee (whoever the f*ck Geddy Lee is... ). Give Geddy Lee my equipment and he will still end up sounding like Geddy Lee. Give me his equipment and I'll still end up sounding like Ian Castle - and I'm perfectly happy with that. Music is the one piece of partial arrogance I've allowed myself to retain - I'm not interested in being a Jaco clone, a King accolyte or a Clarke copy. I'm just me being me the best that I can.

Don't you just slacken the pickup mounting screw nearest the E string?
Indeed.... there were some ropey products apparently. BassBaby I think could be a winner..... have to make it a lot lighter though....
Something I remember H||H making was a really neat alternative to the WEM Copycat that used tape cartridges instead of the exposed loop. They had some pretty smart ideas knocking about before they got swallowed up by Laney.

I've come to the conclusion that the easiest was to avoid pronunciation errors is just to point at the article and say "one of those please"...
This is the one that will link to an iPad so you can have you mix away from the desk isn't it ?
Yep. Although why anyone would actually want to is beyond me... -
As a massive geek, I wonder about lin-nux, vs. lie-nux. However as we linux users never actually speak in real life, it's never come up.
Classic!

If you cheat a little bit and bring the date range up to 1979 then you can also add Peavey, and the first glimmerings of Trace Elliot to the list. Gibson and Musicman used to make amps back in the 70's as well. I can also vaguely remember some Selmer looking copies appearing at some point in the mid 70's but can't for the life of me remember the brand name they were sold under...

Stagefright - who suffers from it and how do you deal with it?
Got a gig tonight and don't go on until 11.30. Am I nervous? Hell yes. I'm bloody hungry but can't eat and I've got shooting pains running down my arms into my hands. Simply caused by fear of screwing up. It's not the people watching, I don't think, but letting down the other members of the band if I balls up really badly. This one is particularly bad as I'm depping, something I've never done before, for an originals band and we've only had one rehearsal. I have no mechanism for dealing with it Oh bugger! My mind's just gone blank and I can't remember any of the tunes!
Well if you're depping for an originals band and have only had one rehearsal then that'd rank as a pretty tough gig in my books. The first thing to remember is that the rest of the band obviously reckon you have the pre-requisite amount of talent and 'balls' or else they'd have cancelled the gig. The second thing to remember is that nobody has ever been given the death penalty for playing a wrong note. Keep it simple, stay relaxed (easier said than done I know, but at least try ) and be prepared to stick a little run in to get you back to the right note if you get it wrong. -
These were 80's
I was thinking more of the earlier ones with the luminescent green front panels.
That's not what you said last night. Teaser.
I was being polite - plus the fact that a 20' tall moth makes a hell of a lot of dust if aggravated...

I don't drink. I have to say though that I'm a bit of a stickler with those I work with musically - I don't care what they get up to after we've finished playing (as long as they're safe obviously) but I won't share the stage with a p*ssed musician.
I spoke to the endorser of the line at the show and he said that the current line is going and he didn't understand why they were making a 15" combo and thought it was pretty stupid. I knew there were supply issues but hadn't seen this thread. One of the uk main stockists said they probably won't bother with it as it is a bit pointless as it's massive and the head is not removable. There is apparently some issue with the factory which is part of the reason. I imagine the head is to better compete with the gk 200w head so i would expect it to be cheaper at least so at least adds competition there. I ended up buying the 110 combo on the spot (although I am still yet to physically pick it up from the shop as it was a little awkward for the train) as it just ticked every box. apparently Ibanez tried to buy it back off the shop because they don't have any! A 112 version would have been killer I think.
What a shame . They're not going to get far selling a 1x15 combo, everyone and their dog makes those already so they're trying to enter a product saturated market. Someone in Ibanez Marketing is going to get their ar*e spanked for this...
i'm in War wick shire, But your right about the inbreeds. The old folks even all look alike round here. Lot of french sounding villages around your way for some reason, plus Burgerland of course. So preumably a few throwbacks.
It gets confusing round here because Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire all join together just down the road at No Mans Heath - the pub (now an Indian Restaraunt) is on three levels to reflect the county boundaries it's built on. My understanding is that as lot of French got given land round here after 1066 - I actually play with a 'Sir Malcom Summatorother' who's descended from the 1066 lot. It's far too flouncy a title for a simpleton like me, so I just call him 'Malc'.
