1.
Please don't tell me Windows is rubbish now - I bought my first Squier there in the 80s and used to love going there.
Windows has never been anything but "rubbish" in my experience, they have always been unpleasent, especially the guy who looks like Neil from the young ones who stands the wrong way round at the counter facing the wall eating seeds.... Then again, now i live in Portsmouth i really miss having the choice of 3 or 4 shops to go mooch around at my will, as all i have now is Nevada and thats a car journey away. Guitar Guitar, and the now sadly defunct Soundcontrol where my favourites, even though it felt like Soundcontrol again in Guitar Guitar with George kicking around! Its been a year since i was last in Newcastle so i at least hope he's still there!
2. Such a damn shame when things like this happen. Most importantly as that bass is an incredible specimen. I hope it all works out positively for the guy who paid the money.
3. Hey Guys, I have given up *for the time being* looking for rack ears for my Little Mark Head and therefore i'm swapping and selling my rack mounted things in exchange for pedal variants. This is my trusty Behringer MDX 2000 rack mount compressor, extremely versatile, very low noise, will squeeze your bass to death if you see fit! Essential for slap bass and defining your notes! Great conidition, photos of the actual unit are available at request. Looking for £40 posted, or will happilly swap for a compressor pedal as i am ideally looking to replace this immediately. Cheers Guys.
4.
I was thinking the very same...
+1 That's a beauty you're letting go!
5. Just Bumping this as the 2x10 Sold this weekend to Greg, *4 strings* and i'm still looking to shift the 4x10, its on provisional Hold for *Without Risk Bass* who may be collecting it this Saturday, but if he can't hold to the sale, i do want it sold. The Cabinet is currently based in Portsmouth if you want to collect. Cheers.
6. I own a Vintage Modified Jazz and i wouldn never sell it, out of the 4 USA Fender Jazzes i have owned including a 60's reissue with a J Retro Preamp and Marcus Miller Sig, this is by the far the best player of the lot, its just so simple and great for finger style funk, i love it! Couldn't recommend it enough!
7.
my ss2 5 is the only one im keeping.. just cant sell it
I reckon you need to keep this and sell me the Stage II!
8.
How about the East built ACG filter preamp - probably give you all the sounds you'll ever need and some...
I recently played a couple of Daf Lewis' basses last week and he had one of these Preamps in his Thumb 5 Fretless and his Parker Fly Bass, and man! WHAT A TONE! you can dial endlessly, he had mastered what tone he loved and could dial it in effortlessly! seriously considering one in my next 5 string!
9. Man! Why isn't this a Stage II !!! I'm still considering your offer dude.... i could be swayed! Variety never hurt anyone!
10.
Settee and stuffed toys Here's some of 'em,although the white Warlock and red Ironbird are gone now I need new settees
The most "metal" bass collection ever!
11. Ahh excellent stuff! yeah that will look dead smart, the guy i gave mine to also has a White Jazz that he's putting the White Covers on! it'll look ace! Post some pics up when you've done it mate.
12.
I'm on the 9th floor!!!! And that's the ONLY real reason I'm selling. Sur I'm short of transport right now too, but other musicians have cars ;-)
Oh man! i hope you have a lift! or an incredibly strong back!
13. Hey mate, I recently bought some white pick up covers from a company called CH Guitars on Ebay, they have white, cream, black. Delivered the next day and cost about £5-£6 i have recently passed them on to another member of the forum but they were decent quality and fit perfectly over the stock pups! you can see them in my avatar on my Squire VMJ! Sharp!
14. I found when refinishing a Telecaster Guitar that i had to lightly run a blow torch over the Laquer finish and scrape it off with a razor blade as it was seriously gumming up my Orbital Sanding Paper, never did finish that project! its still in a gig bag at my parents house..... Although reading this has inspired me to dig it back out and finish it!
15. Man! If i had a car or i didn't live three storeys up i would have loved this, Bump for a beautiful Cab at a ridiculous price.
16. My Little Mark head is the best Amplifier i have ever heard or used! It'll be a long time before i sell or get rid of it, and if and when do it'll be to buy another Markbass head, for a 450watter it really raises hell.
17. Hey Dan! Welcome to the board! In my experience i have never really agreed with coated strings, i have tried Elixers and Warwick EMP's but man its like sliding around on Ice, i like the gritty feel of Steels, i have used DR Black Beauty strings and they have been the one exception i seriously liked those! even though they promised to last 4 or 5 times as long as an non coated string but they died a couple of months later like a standard set of steels! They looked ace on the bass though!
18. PM Sent.
19. I have also heard that its the in ear deal and for not interfereing with monitors and the singers microphones, whatever the reason i think it looks awesome.
20. Hi, What songs or lessons does the book cover mate? Cheers.
21. I always like the idea of having more than one bass, a main one that does everything i need it to and others that have little unique charms for recording with, for gigging though i like to have one bass i always rely on, and like Happy Jack says learn to maintain your main bass so it doesn't fail and if it does you're schooled to fix it.
22.
Wow, that's expensive ! It must be due to the exotic woods used - umm no, Ash and maple. Must be the 24 carat gold h/w, umm no. The pre-amp, umm no. Well I'm stumped, do I get Marcus Miller with it ?
hmmm maybe its built by Marcus?
23. Just get bladdered yourself before the gig, then you wont care how terrible it is!
24. Nothing is cooler than having a bass on display in a glass cabinet! especially that one!
25.
what can i say, loved every minute of it, got a few notes wrong on queen of hearts but not even the band noticed!!! sang a song too another 1st, and yes it was over to quickly and im still buzzing
Told you man a great gig will go in a heart beat! Right! Get planning your next one!!
