Having used the BTB all of my last gig, took out both SR’s this afternoon. So light & easy to play, as well as sounding fantastic!

Both five strings were out on festival duty recently. Used the BTB all set, but only because the strings on the 2405 were a bit tired (now changed!).

Latest incarnation - fairly simple, but high quality. Hugely impressed with Genzler gear.

Listening to Geddy’s playing was the main reason I started playing bass ooh, 42 odd years ago. All this time later I still get the same enjoyment listening to his bass lines. The band had such a long career, there’s so much variety to what he played. The fact he was singing whilst playing some of those lines is astonishing. Not one to hang on to a certain period of Rush’s music (I admire the way they didn’t stand still musically), I actually think their last album Clockwork Angels was their best. Have a listen to the following bass parts (a very small selection) if you don’t know them:- Twighlight Zone, Vital Signs, Digital Man, Big Money, Malignant Narcissism. Chris Squire was another of my favourites, but I’m not a Prog fanboy as Derek Forbes (early Simple Minds) & John Taylor (Duran Duran obviously) are others!! Music is highly subjective (as are thoughts on musicians) which is kind of one of the great things about it all. 🙂

Be patient! Your ad hasn’t been up for anytime at all!! From what I can see this gear was about £2300 ish new? IMO I’d say your original price was fine, but your price drop makes it a bargain. Can’t comment on the Blacksmith, but I own the same cab model and it’s stunning. Unless mine gets damaged, can’t see me ever changing it. It’s just about a 1 person lift too, despite being a 212. Looks a quality rig at a very decent price to me.

Chris bought a Zoom recorder from me. Great communications & a quick & straightforward transaction. He picked the item up from me & is a very pleasant fella. 👍🏻

Carl just bought my Bass Fly Rig. Super straightforward transaction, with swift payment & great comms. Would deal with again for sure. 🙂

Well regarded portable recording device. I used it at band rehearsals for a project where we were messing around with arrangements a lot, but that ended so no current need. Worked incredibly well in capturing a live sound including nice clear bass. Comes with a few accessories as pictured. Collection from Swindon, or can post at the additional cost of that.

No longer required after a change of synth set up. A couple of small scuffs on front edge, but generally in great condition. Cables included. Many different uses for this, but I used for triggering background pads/strings or for getting my Moog Taurus thrills on!! Collection from Swindon, or posted at buyers preferred option at their cost.

Got my additional 5 string need sorted by picking up this mighty fine BTB1905 Premium off eBay. Through experience, have become a huge fan of Ibby Premium’s & now have three.

Anybody got one of these? If so, how hissy / noisy is your pre-amp, especially on the treble side?

Alternatively, if anyone has one of these they are thinking of parting with…

The right thing to do - lovely bass!

Anyone increased their string spacing on a 5 string SR Premium? The MR5S bridge saddles allow for an increase from the standard 16.5mm to 18mm. I was wondering how much that effected the string alignment over the pickup pole pieces, & also how close the B & G strings got to the edge of the fretboard & did that make a difference to playability? My 2405W is such a joy to play with its 18mm spacing - no idea why Ibby doesn’t make that the standard on SR fivers… 🤷🏼♂️

In need of another active 5 string, so seeing who might be interested in a trade for this lovely instrument? A couple of headstock dings & some wear around the top bout strap button, but excellent condition overall for its age as you can see from the pictures. Price wise I’ve had a £600 trade offer & sale interest at the £795 mark, so that gives some indication of value. I can add some cash into a purchase too. These days not much of a fan of plain painted basses - more into a ‘woody’ look if you get my drift. Would expect any deal to be finalised in person, but can get a very reasonable distance away from Swindon in an hour!
