1. it does sound like the output from your bass is just too much for the sansamp. the simple solution is to turn it down using the volume knob on your bass.
2.
always thought this was quite nice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuIMDVm-lTg peace c
i'm not normally a fan of tapping, but that's really nice. it's restrained...not like the showy stuff people usually do.
it's a plain bit of wood, not even carved (cant imagine thats comfortable on the fretting hand, no frets, simple electronics. all of this means that you wouldn't need a great deal of skill to build something of the same standard yourself, for an awfull lot cheaper.
exactly what i though... i mean...i've got the tools out anyway
4. i've got the sansamp rip-off (the rbi 21) and it's fine, and i also have their tuner pedal as well (which i've used live wsith no problems) they're not as sturdy as metal-built ones, so if you go smashing your foot down on them you might hurt them. but just go easy !!!
5.
There is nothing wrong with the heads in my humble opinion- its the speakers which are the problem, wooden (almost) crate with a speaker and hole, built to a budget, vanilla, missionary, cheap and nasty design-yes even the ABM range. Its our fault we do not demand better.
when i've played ashdowns in the past, they've not been running through ashdown cabs...trace elliot and peavey, but not their own brand... ymmv of course
6. mu p choice goes to my mexican made cowpoke special. blind bought on ebay, it's prolly the best bass i've ever played. (are we allowing pj's ??)
7.
Well, we did the gig to 25 people. But pmly just. I nearly chinned some bearded weirdo in an Engerlund shirt who came in from the other bar and interrupted our soundcheck with a demand we turn down. When I said we had our audience to entertain, he snorted and said 'it's a national thing'. Glad they lost!
what a dick !!
8. i fianlly got my double muff through the post today. my oh my...what an amazing sound...on the single setting it's just a beautiful overdriven sound...comparable to my aria td-1 a nice crunchy break-up not bad for £25 !!
9. i think i'm going to be building myself a new pedalboard soon
10. the guy's a hero...my small stone arrived today...and he'd chucked in an adapter as well. couldn't be happier cheers OHM !!
11. plus the one...and some sturdy staples as well...
12.
Klaatu says: "Peterson Tuners will keep the universe in tune!'
love your work

14. from the front of the D-string saddle to the back (i.e. the bridge side) of the pickup is 159mm. hope this helps
15.
It's more about the tone with those basses --
but we're talking bodies, not elocution
16.

i bought one of those for my mum as she's starting to learn to play guitar. i was very impressed...seemed to do well on bass as well as electric and acoustic guitars.
17. both the status and the aria are pretty fugly to my eye...esp the status.
18. i've got a musicman sabre - if they have the same setup i'd be happy to let you know...
19.
Looks good
ta - in the end i didn't use the behringer - there simply wasn't enough room in the studio. it still rocked though... now, where am i going to fit the double muff and the small stone (thanks old horse murphy !)
20. plus the one for the 'marmite' brand angle
21. the full interview's here http://music.guardian.co.uk/omm/story/0,,2188018,00.html
22.
this Freebass thing doesn't look promising at all. 3 bassists (is Mani playing guitar?) and no songwriter, by the sounds of things. Hooky playing his same old licks on that demo track. http://www.myspace.com/peterhookneworder but I thought Hooky sounded great on the single from Perry Farrell's Satellite party "wish upon a dog star". http://www.myspace.com/satelliteparty
is that him ? sounds very un-hooky to me !!! plus the one on freebass...hooky just plays the same stuff over and over again these days.
23. and it went really well. don't think we got more than 10 listeners tho !!!!
