  1. This is a lovely reissue of the '51 slab body Precision - it's not the Sting version - and comes with ashtrays. It's strung with Rotosound Nexus strings that look like the old black tape wounds but play and sound similar to Roundwounds. The bass is light weight and plays beautifully with a decent growl to it. Originally the bass was a yellow - butterscotch - colour but has been professionally refinished in natural and looks very nice indeed. Neck is straight, minimal fret wear and trussrod works as it should. The bridge is a four saddle job so probably a replacement. The bass comes with a basic cover. Pickup preferred but I'll post in the UK if necessary. No trades. Thanks.
  2. Good point the middle pic is certainly not a longhorn
  3. How heavy is it and where are you please?
  4. This pickup was in with a bunch of bass project parts I bought. Initially I thought it was a Dimarzio but the cover looks to be a replacement and the pickup itself has a grey bobbin with a number stamped on it - 170962 by the looks of it. The pickup is just over 90mms wide and gives a nice strong output. Price includes UK postage.
  5. Hiya what's the weight please?
  6. Thanks however I managed to get some Hipshot HB 5 - made for Rick basses but fit perfectly and no extra routing!
  7. Hi folks looking for a bit of help I have a nice old '64 Epiphone Rivoli. It sounds and plays great but the tuners are really slipping these days. I wondered if there was a new alternative so I wouldn't need to drill any new holes or anything? The existing tuners are the smaller slimmer shaft nickel 'Kluson' - I'd guess - types. Thanks!
  8. What's the weight? Case or gig bag? Cheers
  9. Nice what's the weight? Shipping to the UK included?
  10. To all those asking postage will be around £20 tops
  11. And replied
  12. Still available ? Would they fit my shortscale Rivoli?
  13. Lancaster
  14. I've got one of these and I've used it for some smaller gigs - a very useful little amp, some one will get a bargain here!
  15. The bass was bought for a series of acoustic gigs and performed really well. Comes with gigbag. No trades, pickup preferred but I'll post in the UK at buyers cost. New bronze strings and certainly loud enough for working acoustically with acoustic guitars. Nice amplified sound, long scale with a low action. 16. As the title suggests these are the vintage type American made Fender P bass pickups and sound just like a Precision ought to! Selling as I've returned my old JV bass to its original pickup. Price includes UK postage. Mounting screws included but no original packing. Cheers
  17. I avoid the Facebook thing Karl - it's soul destroying trying to get a realistic offer there. If I don't get £260 for this I'll give up too - as you say no hardship keeping it!
  18. [quote name='ash' timestamp='1431430784' post='2771194'] Here's an excellent example of a Squier SQ Precision dating from the early 80s. The SQ series were made as more contemporary versions of Fender instruments and were produced alongside the JV series. The quality, fit and finish is superb and it's no wonder these basses made Fender reassess their U.S. production and up their game! This Precision is in very good original condition, the neck is superb with a low action and plenty of life in the frets. The trussrod turns and the neck is straight. The only change is that the nut has been professionally replaced a few years back. The electrics are original with a nice punchy growl to the pickup. The scratch plate is slightly warped but there are no breaks or cracks. There are some paint dings to the lower upper edge of the body but otherwise cosmetic condition is very good for a 30 plus year old bass. It comes with a gigbag. Sorry no trades and pickup preferred but I can send in the UK at buyers cost. More pics to follow. Weight wise it's nice and light at under 9lbs. 19. Cheers Karl it's a great cab but I'm downsizing my rig - lots of power and punch in a manageable unit!
