  1. Fender Precision Bass 1978 Natural Finish Lightweight with Gig Bag I’ve reduced the price to encourage a quick sale. I doubt you will get as nice and light an example of a classic Fender Precision from this era. I’m also interested in a straight swap for a Rickenbacker model 4003 or 4003s. Thanks for looking. Fantastic Fender Precision bass from the late 70’s the only non-original part is the pickup which is a noughties US Fender wired to a series parallel switch. The pots, wiring, and hardware all original. You can see there’s currently a D tuner on it but if it sells I’ll return it to stock as I have the original tuner. The bass is factory natural with nicely grained wood. It’s light at around 3.7kgs - amazing for a bass of this era and the neck is slim with a shallow profile. There are the usual ID marks and sticker under the scratchplate with serial number matching the headstock. Sadly no case but I have a light modern Fender gigbag for it or if you prefer a scruffy heavier duty generic one. The bass balances really well and plays easily. There is lacquer wear at the upper bout and the finish has crazed over time. The finish is rubbed to near bare wood in places but it is honest wear and not particularly bothersome. You can feel the crazing when you rest your forearm on the edge, it didn’t irritate me when playing live. Great opportunity to buy a lightweight 70’s classic Fender. I’m sorry but the only trades I may be interested in are for a Rickenbacker 4003/4003s or 4000. Pickup preferred but I can post if absolutely necessary. UK only. Bit of an update I’ve replaced the Hipshot D tuner with the original Fender and it is now strung with TI flats. Sounds great! Set up with an easy low action. Price reduced for the final time before I decide to keep it.
  2. Great little mono synth (although can do paraphonic) with an analogue delay. This is the Reissue, NOT the V3 or even the original. Sounds fantastic and comes boxed with USB lead and ribbon lead if you want to connect it to eurorack. I’ve barely used it since I bought it as I’ve been concentrating on playing piano and organ. Excellent condition.

  3. Ah my favourite MB preamp. Wonderful amps GLWTS!
  4. I’m not sure it looks stock to me. I know that there were a few hardware options open. The control plate is apparently a different size from the standard StingRay so not an easy replacement part to source.
  5. This one weighs 3.9kgs so much lighter than your average similar era Fender.
  6. I’ve found a use for these so now withdrawn.
  7. Ibanez Roadstar II 1981 Japanese made bass with original case. This is the early 80’s Ibanez version of a Precision, the difference between this and some Fenders of the same era is that this model doesn’t weigh a ton and costs about a quarter! This is a lovely bass in its own right, simple passive volume and tone, split pickup and a nicely proportioned neck. It weighs 4kgs and is in pretty good condition for its 44 years. It plays very well and sounds like you would expect. It’s all original apart from the strap buttons which were changed years ago for strap lock types. This was prior to my purchase so I’ve no idea what happened to the originals. There are some dings to the body and some small blemishes to the neck. Truss rod is fine and works well, frets are in good order as is also the pickups and hardware. I got this in a trade and it owes me £495. Classic black and maple looks which I love, sadly the slightly wider than a P bass body is uncomfortable for me to play so it’s not seeing any action. I’m getting rid of any basses that aren’t being played regularly that hold no sentimental value. Sorry no trades unless you have a Sterling SB14 or a US Sub Sterling then possibly. It comes with what I was told is the original case. It’s certainly of the same era. One clasp is broken but it still does the job. Great vintage MIJ Precision alternative at a decent price. I’m sure it will bring back memories for some of you. Prefer pickup but can post in the UK only at buyer’s cost.
  8. Martin bought a Hofner 500/1 Artist bass from me. Quick payment, easy going deal. Credit to Basschat. Enjoy the bass!
  9. Not quite but it does make some weird, wonderful and musical noises!
  10. Yes I have owned extremes one at nearly 5kgs one at under 3.5. I regret getting rid of my red Sterling last year when I went in for surgery. Sold to buy a EBMM short scale I later moved on - to you perhaps?
  11. I’ve had several but realise I’m happier with long scale now that my fretting hand is healed.
  12. Ah well Sterling it is then! I’ve not played a Sabre but always wanted one. It would be pointless me getting anything heavy. I’ll amend the trades. Thanks
  13. Someone was after one but I think in natural but thanks.
  14. EBMM Musicman StingRay Special 2019 USA Lovely example in black and roasted maple. It has a black chrome control plate and knobs. Not sure if this is as original but this is what it came with when I bought it. It comes with EBMM case, tools, leaflets, inspection tags, etc. It plays beautifully and sounds as you would expect, classic StingRay punch and clarity with lots of tonal variations thanks to the three band EQ. As it is the Special model the hardware is updated and designed to reduce weight. The bass is nice and light at 3.9kgs. The lightest US StingRay I’ve played. I love this bass but quickly realised that the wider body is uncomfortable for me to play and so I’m looking to trade it for an EBMM Sterling (US version) preferably with a maple board or possibly a trade plus cash my way for a Sandberg California II VS4. No heavy weights please. Other interesting trade would be for a Shuker JJ Burnel or Shuker P Bass. I’m not interested in any other trades but would also welcome a straight sale. Great chance to buy a lightweight US made StingRay. UK only. Pickup preferred or I can post at buyer’s cost. Thanks.
  15. I got it at GAK March 2024 as an early birthday present - I sorted it out through one of the staff there Ryan who I had a few email conversations with about it. My local luthier set it up for me with the new strings and the old ones are included. I assume it was made in late 23 or very early 24 as it’s a newer model and relatively recent addition to the Hofner range. I’ve enclosed pictures of the booklet which has the matching serial number to the inside label - you can even see the name of the craftsman handwritten on the label. Hofner really know how to make something special. I’m sure Hofner would be able to find the exact date for you if needed. If you want pictures of the inside label and serial number and are seriously interested please PM me.
  16. Barefaced One Ten Cab 200 watt 8 ohms. Excellent condition with the usual tolex lift at the back. A nice loud little cab, very light and perfect for small gigs and rehearsals. Pickup preferred but I could arrange post in the UK at buyer’s cost.
  17. They won’t I’m afraid because the silks will run over the nut.
  18. I can check against mine later. Not sure because of the way the bridge and tailpiece work on Ricks.
  19. Roland SH-09 Vintage Mono Synth 1980 Classic early Roland synth in working condition. The synth works well for a 45 year old but could do with a service. The keys all trigger, a couple have been repaired many years ago and the bottom F can miss fire occasionally. The portamento slider is a little wayward and probably needs a new slider. All the other knobs and switches work as they ought to and the synth plays in tune up and down the board. There are a couple of replacement slider caps. There are some rusty patches on the fascia. That said it sounds fantastic, easy to use with PWM and a sub oscillator. A classic mono synth for a reasonable price. Pickup preferred but can send in the UK at buyer’s cost. Price dropped for a limited time.
  20. I’ll be trading this in if it doesn’t go today last chance at £645 posted.
