6.
Five piece Classic Rock band Oi Oi Savaloy, based around Hornchurch Essex area will play The Litten Tree in Brentwood High Street on Thursday 15th September 2011 on stage around 8.30pm. So if you're into classic rock from the 60's, 70's and later, come down for a good night. See us on Facebook.
Love the band name!!! Didn't know the Litten Tree group still existed!! Used to play them all quite regularly about ten years ago.
 7.
Just get another MAG 210.
+100!! (Not 100 cabs, obviously!!)
 8.
It's not really a band yet if it's just you looking to lump together a bunch of musos?
OP said: "I'm forming a band & require an experienced bass player. (preferrably aged 20-35)". That might be a clue. Totally agree that stating a location will save an awful lot of potentially wasted time too!!
 9. Let's just hope your current cretinous bassist doesn't respond to your ad!!
 10.
Pino Palladino said "as you get older your tone knob creeps down and your right hand goes further up the neck". Enjoy bass playing for what it is, simplifying doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your enjoyment of the instrument. I know you'll be well aware already but warm up before gigs as well, it makes all the difference having your hand muscles ready to play quicker paced stuff.
A typically accurate and incisive Pino quote IMHO. Absolutely spot on.
 11. Go on Cetera - you know you want to!!!
 12. Just choked on my coffee - read that as "Free Computerised Studio Desk".!! Ever the optimist!!
 13.
i didnt think it would be but the guy in sounds live seemed to think it would, i reckon he was after a sale...
Surely not??!!??!!
 14.
Nearly Dan play The Lift Off Festival, Anderton Boat Lift, Lift Lane, Northwich, Cheshire on Saturday August 6. Outdoor event. Starts around 7.30pm.
Break-a-leg my friend.
 15.
It's arrived at last! Just have to wait all day to get it home now... At least I have a rehearsal tonight to give it a try out
So............ How'd it perform @ rehearsal? Do tell!!
 16. Also, I can really recommend a book called "The Inner Game of Music" by Barry Green and W. Timothy Gallwey. Published by Pan. I think I got my copy through Amazon for £7.99. A very illuminating read indeed, which touches on a number of the issues already raised in this thread. Edit: Blimey!! currently on offer for less than a fiver!! The Inner Game of Music A snip I tell you!!
 17. If I've learned anything in my 40 years + of gigging/recording, it is this: Music is NOT (or at least it shouldn't be) a "competitive sport". Your playing should serve the song and not be simply designed to "impress". This should apply to every instrument, including the human voice. All IMHO, naturally, and just my 2 pence worth.
 18.
I know its abit out there but I would trade for a Sousaphone
That is a classic post!! Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't read it myself!!
 19.
Thank you Very much for the kind words - It's appreciated
You're more than welcome.
 20. Absolutely love the tracks on MySpace but, sadly, I am geographically (and, I suspect, chronologically) constrained from expressing my interest. I wish you well in your search - on the strength of those (mix in progress) tracks, I think you'll do well for yourselves.
 21.
Fixed Oh, and surprisingly, roll back the tone control a bit too, that often gives you a thump to get through the band, along with the dropping one of the pickup volume advice.
+ 1 on that!!
 22. Behringer SM58 copies. Cheap as chips and not too far behind the original in terms of build quality etc. Last time I looked, they were still under £20 each!!
