1. Personally I would like to thank the warwick crash! I got my lovely 5 string BO Thumb for a mere £650!
2. If so, can I ask someone to do a video demo and put it on youtube? like thon fella from talkbass
3. I take it northern ireland is out of the question?
4. Ok this is the first time I've requested a tab. I once read someone saying that if you can't figure out a simple pop song by ear then you should stop playing. I think I'll mustard on anyways... Ok here goes the request, Incubus's talk show on mute. I've found some out there but they have simplified it. I would like it in full with the thrills. Aaaaand IF you have the time explain the musical knowledge behind it. Like why he puts this thrill in there.. keys etc. A bit of a weird one I know. Also I won't mind if no one does it.
5. What about the other way around? At the minute I'm using peavey eurosys something or other pa cabs and they are dandy!
6. Now, now lads... I think it is a rather easy cop out getting at the government. Cause in fairness we get free health care cheap tution on most cases etc etc. so they're not all bad!
7. That was some good figures! I like to understand what percentage will go where! Apparently gifts can be up to £135!
8. I think there are two different areas to consider... The best overall and the best value cause the berg 212 has been mentioned but it is like £850 or something ridiculous and then you have something like the tc electronics for like £500 which according to reviews is very good for the money.
9. Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows any info about the release date. Maybe some of the people in the retail market could use their influence to find out? tehe
10. Good to know! The amp can be had for 300 or 400 dollars depending on whether I go for the 350 or 500. I might just wait. But this is good to know cause sometimes cheap stuff comes up on ebay but I have been wary off customs charges etc. so have stayed away. I know there are some exceptions etc. but I doubt an amp will fall into those categories. By the way how awesome do those cabs look!
11. Has anyone imported amps from the usa? I really like the ampeg stuff that is coming out. I was just wondering what charges I would incur? What percentage is customs etc?
12. What about Ampeg's new portaflex series? I think it is due out this year... http://www.ampeg.com/products/portaflex/splash.html I'm not fancy and thus can't link stuff.
13. Aye that is pretty expensive. There is also the new Fender rumble head and cab series... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgHLv7dOna4...feature=related for the price ain't too shabby!
14. So has anybody heard of any good things/new products from the namm show? It would be cool if we could compile a list of amps that are coming out this year/being announced at namm 11? Ps. Pictures and videos are a plus...
15. Lovely bass... except for those silly looking humbuckers. IMO.
16. I really like the idea of this. The best part would be being able to swap pre sets with others in the bass chat community to heear their tone etc. sounds good
17. Ahh cause I was watching a youtube video of some guy and a fender rumble and the comments said the strings were dead. I was unsure how to tell, then again I had an Ibanez GSR200 for 5-6 years and those were the same strings. Maybe I'm deaf. I have a Warwick 5'er and would like to treat her better with a little TLC and I''m thinking she might like a nise set of DR's? I've read some stuff that say they are good on here.
18. I think it is very important that you come at least £300 below a custom job from the manufacture. I know if I were spending £1000 onn a new amp and I could customise my own for a few more hundred I would, personal opinion. You need to come up with a all new feature that will make it unique. There are too many people using the SVT's and DB751 for you to compete in that market and people like to have the amp of their favourite bass player to try and get their tone in my opinion, so developing something like switchable wattage like has been said or a professional on board compressor that you can adjust attack release etc.
19. How do you tell if your strings are dead?
