1. First thing I thought when I saw it.... "Aye, there's Wayne's checks"
2.
How does that sound?....
It sounds surprisingly good, all things considered. You certainly wouldn't hear it and peg it for a guitar pup. It's a shame they don't make bass pups this pretty too.
3. Aye this one per chance? I must confess a penchant for exactly that colour of yellow (see av) but I don't think I'd be ready for a whole bass worth of it.
4. Tough choice. It's pretty good as it is but with a 2EQ you'd be able to introduce a bit of click into the rolled off tone range, which IMHO wouldn't be a bad thing at all.
5.
"The guitar was purchased new by my brother, I bought it from him at about five years old" 5 years old is young to be buying guitars like that int it?
6.
Unrelated I know, but did the Schaller bridge arrive OK?
PMd
7.
ah, if those were 5 knobs and not 4, I'd have them...
Me too.
and your avatar is far too sensible now
Yeah, I'm going for a bit of the old "nobody gets me but I don't care because I have my music" mode with this one.
8. Sheesh I can't sleep. May as well sell some gear.... set of Tonerider Jazz pickups. Specs -> bridge and neck Bought these for a project but ended up buying some EMG's before actually getting the Toneriders in. These are shiny and new and completely unused by me or anyone else. ~ High-Grade "Smooth-Top" Alnico Polepieces - no sharp edges! ~ Laser-cut, hand-bevelled flatwork. ~ USA-made vintage hook-up wire for easy installation. ~ All coils bound with fabric tape, removing the chance of damage. ~ All coils scatterwound on our 999-step CNC winding machines. ~ All coils wax-potted to avoid feedback at high-gain settings. ~ Jazz sets are RWRP, offering near noiseless operation when both pickups are on. They come boxed with wiring diagrams. I will take £40 for the set + actual P&P Artec SE-3 -> link. 3-Band EQ pre-amp, 5 Pots, Volume, Balance, Treble, Mids, Bass. Again bought for a project but an Aggie OBP3 found it's way in there instead. Again this is completely unused by me or anyone else. BNIB £25 + actual P&P - 4 Chrome domed knobs I acquired these thinking they were a set of 5 but what I got were these 4 plus an odd plastic thing. They are solid metal and hug your shaft with the aid of a wee slot headed grub screw. [s]£10 + actual P&P (odd plastic thing can be included free of charge upon request)[/s] SOLD edit : PP accepted but bank transfer preferred.
9. All items now sold. Cheers everyone. Rich.
10. Wasn't there someone looking for [s]busted[/s] repairable gear in the items wanted section? edit : found it -> linky
11.
Thats a nice bass for £150 squiddly pops
Who you calling Squiddly Pops?
12.
I considered buying a Squier Deluxe V after playing a Squier Affinity Jazz Bass V and liking it. But eventually decided I wanted to learn on something cheaper. But, just out of curiosity, could you write a few words about what you think of the Deluxe V?
I surely will.... when it arrives later this month. Dv247 won't have it back in stock for a wee while yet - nice of them to look after my money all this while tho. I too was a bit dubious about them but it was this thread on TB that turned me. (well worth a read for those with old school opinions of Squiers)
13. I passed on a set of un-needed Webstrings flats to Mike. Very straight forward deal with great comms. Deal with confidence this guy's a peach. Cheers man. Rich.
14.
.....If you loose £400 on a ray, does that mean that you have to take £400 off a squire? No of course not.
It's a pity it doesn't work like that. I just bought a Squier Deluxe V for £200. If it worked the other way they'd just send me a bass plus 200 quid.
15. Laaay-zee Sun-day haftah-noon-ahh... Bump
16. This is one of my favourites.
17.
Check out Schroeder cabs at SHX Music in Lewes, http://www.shxmusic.com. They will sound great with an LM11.
+1 I absolutely leurve my sound and I never have any problem being heard either. :brow:
18. Bought Chris' Opto Stomp. Top bloke to deal with. Keeps it real. Cheers again bud. Rich
19. Some of them are shipped with Seymour Duncans IIRC perhaps that'll explain why some are dearer than others. I'm sure you get some good 'uns but check the G & C string in relation to the pup poles... ...that's the kind of fundamental build flaw I'm on about.
20. It may well be great for tapping. Good luck and let us know. I have to admit my "Shine are pants" was a sweeping generalisation (which I hate) I was just inferring in as few words as possible that they are Korean/Chinese factory made and tend to be knocked together from cheap parts. This is reflected in the RRP. Oriental build quality is getting better and better so who know there might be some good apples in their rotten barrel. LOL
21.
I think considering how old it is thats not much use at all.
I totally agree but perhaps the phrase "relatively very little use" would have been more appropriate and truthful.
22. That Squier P went for a song. The Peavey looks like a BXP and will be a bargain at that price too. Shine are IMHO pants, best avoid!
23. And sooner or later he's gonna have to change the auction title coz it ain't no Stingray either. ^_^
24. Jeez! If it has 2 pups and we can clearly see them, what the Dickens is that cover for? Not a big fan of SG's but I kind of admire the Mad Max-ness of this creature. Don't get how that thumb rest works though.
