1. Hamster's after one of these.
 2. It's not unheard of. If you can get a hold of some liquid screw lock then fine, if not put a wee drop of clear nail varnish on the thread and crank it up.
 3. Tasteful. And it's "a true piece of history"...... apparently.
 4.
+1 on the Korg Pandora PX4d....
There's one for sale on here for about £65.
 5. Grab a Korg PX4D. Absolutely fantastic bit of kit and well worth the money. Tonnes of preset sounds, backing drums (some half decent), you can plug in an mp3 player and jam along to tracks, slow them down, speed them up, adjust pitch and even remove the bass from the tracks so all you hear is you. The greatest thing with it for me, is that you can record a wee chord loop (using your bass perhaps) and noodle along to that. I find it a great song writing tool too. I have mine hooked up to a nice sounding Logitech 2.1 setup in my living room for home jamming but sometimes go for a wander about the house with headphones plugged in. When mine eventually wears out, I wouldn't hesitate to get another.
 6.
Its just a shame I dont or at least cant justify the use of it. But I honestly wont use it with the other 2 basses that I have. My go to bass is now my Ric and the Jag is used from time to time. However in the last 2weeks I have had a major change in circumstance. This has caused me to stop playing in my band as of last night. So lets face it 3 basses is a tad overkill for a man that wont be playing at rehearsals or gigs for the foreseeable future Depending on how things go the other 2 may be up for sale at some point in the not so distant future.
Dude that's sad news. I hope you're ok.
 7.
you contacted the seller? doesent really sound like excessive use, id also for a replacement personally
Hmm don't know if it's the sellers fault. Those parts are all to often prone to "melt" in inexperienced hands.... and the OP has admitted to stripping it whilst setting the intonation ie. while it was under tension. +1 for buying a replacement. Sell the busted one as parts to help pay for your new one.... and be careful next time.
 8.
I knew you'd end up liking those Sue Ryder basses too
Why I oughta!
 9.
Strung it up and its a little better. When I roll the tone right off it disappears, but with it on its buzzing like hell. Also, when I have both pickups on, it sounds really honky, not rich like how I was used to. Have I wired it out of phase?
Sounds like a candidate for shielding out the cavities. The control plate is made from metal so doesn't need any further shielding - it might be an idea to scratch the areas where the pots make contact with it to aid better shielding though. Just whip one of the pups around and see how it sounds. What's the back story to this bass anyway?
 10.
One string, I only put it on to try it out. I haven't soldered the ground to the bridge, I didn't realise I had to, it certainly didnt come like that.
No you just bare it a little and make sure it is in contact with bare metal on the back of the bridge... it was probably already like that. Try all the strings on first. It might not be perfect but it might help.
 11.
Have you soldered the bridge ground?
Yeah he said it's soldered to the bridge vol control above.
 12.
I have a Precision... there may be a Jazz too.
That's still one of the prettiest basses I've seen Jose.
 13.
So I've followed the diagram above, but I've come stuck with the bridge ground wire? I've soldered it to the bridge vol control with the ground from the bridge pickup, but it's still buzzing. Have I done something terribe? or is it to do with the black control plate not having shielding? Thanks!
Have you got the strings on yet?
 14. How does his cameraman not piss himself all the time... unless it's his carer and this is some kind of cognitive therapy.
 15. Plug in a distortion pedal. If you can't hear anything coming from you tweeter then it's fecked. Next thing to do would be check all the connections to the rear of the tweeter.
 16. Dibs on the body if for some reason it doesn't sell and you part it out.
 17. I think that level of sardonic ineptitude would be hard to fake.
 18. Seems like an opening for the next big Squier phenominon... well at least it would be half original.
 19. I never knew he'd done all these tutorials. I find it enthralling that his talent is completely eclipsed by his self-belief.
 20.
This is my current favourite from him He's a legend!
Not enough cowbell.
 21.
....Any idea how much it would be worth?...
Stick it on ebay and you'll find out. Welcome btw.
 22.
What about tutorial videos? I believe there are a bunch of Reaper ones out there on the web for nowt, or you could pay $30 for 4h40m of this. (Watch the previews first though. You might not get on with Kenny Gioia's voice; he talks really quickly with a strong Long Island accent.)
Good call. Yes I've checked out a few on youtube.. but for a complete novice, it's tough wading through the mire of in-words and technical terms that are thrown at you. I suppose what's worse is not even knowing the terms for what you yourself want to achieve. But yes they have been of some help. Many thanks for the tip about Reaper Explained... I've managed to find a... ahem... "free" version which I'll check out soon. He sounds like Woody Allen.
 23.
This is interesting. Pardon me for dropping in here. I'm about to start attempting to learn reaper with zero experience. I've got the manual printed out and the quick start guide. Some excellent reference points you've made there lads!
You're in the same boat as me mate. I have to agree, what 51m0n has said in just a couple of posts on here is for me the most helpful advice I've read on here in ages.
 24. Hope you find this as helpful as I did. (please don't miss out the astonishing beatboxing in the "utilising the space" section)
 25. Has it always done this? If you have a 250k pot in ther you may want to try a 500k for a different dynamic. This graph might help explain your situation.
