1.
How is a £1000 bass underrated?
Firstly, find a Mexican Luthier (The best in the world),give him a circular saw blade, which he will turn into a Luthier's knife wrapped in tape, with this knife he will hand cut the bevels on this bass, hand cut the neck heel, inlay the fretboard and mother of pearl R Give the Mexican a # 10 bailey plane and a spoke shave, and he will hand carve the body and neck Give him all the top quality wood you can find Now,travel through time and see how much THAT level of expertise will cost you today This bass is second only to something like a top of the range Sei bass I own a 2007 B.C.Rich Widow bass,it's retail value (NEW) today is $5,800,the U.K. distributers,Ro$etti, have a habit of removing the $ sign and replacing it with a £ sign,so £5,800 I own a 1985 B.C.Rich Bich 8 string bass, which I KNOW was completely made by hand, got it used,it owes me $3200,I have a 1979 one too, that owes me £400 This Eagle IS underated, you simply could not get that level of instrument today for £1000,NEW anyway
2.
How does it achieve the neck angle with a through neck for the really tall badass bridge?
They allow for that by placing a wedge of wood, the same type as the neck wood, under the end of the fretboard at the body end
3.
I was going to say, that Geezer used to use BC Rich basses. Never played one meself though.
Geezer still owns his B.C.Riches
4.
Not Geezer Butler's one (possibly with a trem) is it?
Close It's red,but trans red over solid quilted Maple wings It has a trem It has NOTHING to do with Geezer Butler or anyone terribly famous It's currently not for sale, but that might change
5. Yeah, already seen this one, very nice bass, but I already have £6-700 to spend on my 1994 B.C.Rich Widow refurb and also might have to save up about £1000 for a rather special Ironbird This bass is well worth the money though, just not for me at the moment Best of luck with the sale
6.
i dealed with them at their depot. i was asked the contents of the package, and i replied bass in a hardcase, he then asked did i want insurance, and i said yeah, its worth £700, so he said itd be insured for £1000 for £xx (cant remember). Whether i read t&c or not, i dont think that is acceptable.
Perhaps you should check their T & C's and then write to their head office, asking for your money back as they are guilty of false selling practices in regards to the insurance and the training of their desk jockies
7. R.I.P. Phil,I think of you every time I play or walk past this bass It's a honor to own it
8. IN 1987 USA Neck Thru handmade B.C.Rich ST bass 1994 USA Neck Thru handmade B.C.Rich Widow bass Zoom B1X (given to me) OUT Unused 1980's USA B.C.Rich bass neck
9. It ain't just Fender Last year my USA B.C.Rich customshop Widow bass had a full retail value of nearly $3,900,this year they had a Yellow one on their site for $5,900 Ok,it has better inlays than mine, but mine has full body, neck and headstock binding,so I win
10. I got given a Zoom B1X a few months ago,it came with an American adapter (Sucks LOL) and I still haven't understood the damn thing, mind you,I haven't read the instruction manual
11. Cool-nice to add a face to the name too
12. Beautiful Bass Reuel, surprising as BC Rich didn't make it LOL Enjoy the bass and have a happy christmas
13. I've been using D'addario EXL-170's for over 20 years,I wouldn't use anything else, they sound really bright for the first week, then after that, they get that really nice thuddy tone I love
14. Sorry InxS,you just lost my support with your post So the people who donated THEIR money to sending you YOUR lost bass, don't want THEIR money being used too pay for your Import duty and you come accross all Sh***y about it Bro,seriousley, think about it,you had lost a $3000 bass, and the shipping money you had paid, through the hard work of forum members here,AND the generousity of these members too, they got the bass back for you AND paid to have it shipped to you-you COULD have lost EVERYTHING,now you just have to suck it up and pay the duties owed on the bass Your agressive post was in very poor taste, and Uncalled for,it is afterall,THEIR money, and as said before,"There's gratitude for you"
15. BC Rich originally made the Punisher bass, but I believe Gene only had Bernie Rico build it so that he had some prototypes to take somewhere else, which made a nice change for Bernie to be ripped off
16.
See why I'm now confused.
Ha ha ha,we're all confused, that's why we're bassists
17. So,now it's moved from Somerset to Bristol? It was 86 miles from Plymouth,now it's 127,I doubt I'll be coming now,and anyway,I wouldn't be welcome - I ONLY have B.C.Rich basses,11 of 'em
18.
Alright, either way we've still got the sodding accent.
And the Cider and Pasties
19. Wow,is Bridgwater even in the South West???? It's certainly on the border,it would depend on when really
20. I paid just over that for a Snakeskin USA Gunslinger bass with original hardacase I could have bought this Ironbird before Shockwave did,but I didn't like the alteration that had been done to the bass, too expensive for me just for a neck and case Best of luck with the sale though
21. Don't tell me where you put the battery
22.
Ya, i still have the case, its just that after a few performances it was too bad to carry round, its been painted black with like a an of paint, has all splodges of paint and crap, but the inside is sound,, Almost perfect, if someone wants to re leather it, they can, if your buying the bass you can take the hard case too, its just a bit bad at the moment. Ya, i agree to that, looks shouldnt matter, but i really want a dean edge at the moment, my dad will buy me one, but i dont think i can justify having two basses when i dont even have a job lol. Offer open.
Christmas is a bad time to be selling stuff Bro,If I had the cash I would considder your bass,if only to get the neck and case for my Ironbird And I justify having 11 basses with no job by simply saying,"Their All Mine",that and the fact I look after 3 kids helps
23.
There's an awesome black headless Sei 4 in the gallery at the moment. Sounds gorgeous, light as a feather and the neck is near perfect with super, super low action.
Thanks Bro,already seen it,I prefer natural woods though, and to top it all off,I have to sink probably £750 into work I want doing to my 1994 Widow bass, but thanks anyway
24. Add BC Rich to the funk catagory too, there's been a couple of great players using them, not least Bernard Edwards R.I.P.
