1.
Smartarse. Just making the point that Bernard Edwards' BC Riches weren't the extreme-shaped "metal" models. He played an Eagle, didn't he?
Sorry Russ, didn't mean to come accross as smartass, but yes Bernard had an Eagle, well,at least 2 Eagles that I know of,the Maple one is now owned by John Taylor of Duran Duran
2.
He did, but he didn't play an Ironbird/Warlock/Beast/Bich, etc. They might have a versatile sound, but aesthetically, these more extreme BC Riches only belong in a metal band (and even then, I think they look cheesy). A Mockingbird or Eagle would visually fit most bands, though. Also, the cheaper BC Riches are not particularly good instruments. The US-made ones are great, but the import line are very subpar.
That would be because Bernards and Chic parted ways in 1983 The Ironbird was designed in 1983 The Warlock 1981 The Bich,ok,1977 The Beast after Bernards death in 1996,the beast came out in 1999
3.
I think you already know him from the BC Rich Forum. He's mentioned your name to me.
Ah,cool,thanks
4. RhysP,I'd like to talk to your friend with the BCR's
5. Sorry, whilst I posted that, others did in the middle of the posts I was referring too
6. Wrong to both above posts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABLwmYI09Lw B.C.Rich Wave bass (Vintage USA made),guy doesn't look at all like a tw*t http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UFhdYhE9ko...feature=related B.C.Rich Eagle bass (Vintage USA made),Bernard Edwards certainly doesn't look like a tw*t
7. I played a USA B.C.Rich Bich 8 string in a Jazz band,a bass is a bass,tone can be changed with an E.Q.
8. Yeah, thanks that was the one I was looking at,although it looks a little cheap,I was quoted £225 to have one custom made by Buster cases, and that would be form fitted and covered in crushed velvet I wouldn't use a gigbag for this bass,it's a USA made through neck
9. Thanks for the link,it would seem the Buzzard is just slightly longer than the Ironbird,so finding a Buzzard flight case might work, although, that might be just as hard as finding an Ironbird case
10. Could you (GENTLY) lie the explorer on top of the Buzzard and see if they're roughly the same size? I think Warwick make a Flightcase for their Buzzard I would love to know the length of your Buzzard too, does it have a Beaked and rake-backed headstock? It might help me in a search for an affordable case for my Ironbird
11. Looks great,it's strung the same way as the BC Rich 8 stringers are as well,I hate the sound myself,so I've removed the drone strings off both of my B.C.Rich Biches I too would be interested in what case you got for it,as I'm sure it would be the right length for my Ironbird
12.
I had a Zemaitis metal top guitar which I foolishly traded in the 80's for a PRS (when PRS were all the rage)...stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid infinitum.....
Bro,we've all done similar things
13.
I know his guitars but did he make basses too? Anyone got a picture of those? Zemaitis designs are produced by Greco (Kanda Shokai) in Japan. There's also a more expensive version branded as Zemaitis. Anyone ever played one of these?
Here's the bass we arranged to be built for Bob Daisley Bob also now owns this 1970 Bass that belonged to Ronnie Lane
14.
From Medway there WERE Zematis, and Sid Poole (both sadly passed away).
I spoke with Tony Zemaitis a few times, great guy,R.I.P.,got him to build a bass for Bob Daisley
15.
So that will be why he hasn't got around to answering my enquiry about the possibility of a 5-string version of the Peter Hook bass.
Possibly, but I know he's working on 2x 335 basses right now, might even be for Hookey,as I saw his bass there when I dropped the Widow off
16. Cool to see someone added the link to Chris Eccleshall, just don't slow him down,he's working on one of my B.C.Rich Widows, then I need him to work on my B.C.Rich Ironbird
17.
sei?
Based in London ain't they?
18. Chris Eccleshall,Sei,Kevin Chilcott (Royal),Jimmy Moon
19. What is a NY series?? N.J. Series I've heard of,even L.A.Series
20. I believe the Fender one should just undo, you should order a new truss rod nut from fender though,as they might use some weird screw thread size,by weird,I mean American I have my own truss rod issue to fix,and I knew about it before I handed over £1k for it Nut snapped clean off,it's gonna require the fretboard off,new (Dual action) truss rod and 2 carbon fibre rods for luck, and then a respray It's rare though and I love it,even though I can't even string it up yet
21. More pictures Sorry,I'm very ugly LOL
22. Ahhh,Wonky,Beautiful bass, just hated me I am the First owner/importer of this bass,Simply stunning, but I have big legs,so she dug into my thighs sitting down,I hardly played her,and sold her to Shockwave,f-ing nice bass though, and was made in December 2003,so nearly a 2004 bass LOL Here she is at NAMM,and Shockwave should have supplied the letter I reciceved confirming NAMM 2004 status Best of luck with the sale,I only sold her to buy a Widow bass BTW £900 is CHEAP
23.
Thanks bythesea and shockwave for the comments. i can see where you're coming from with the 5 string thing. Kermitnt,I stole it from Dave (eubassix) with his blessing. RhysP,I've seen clips of this guy playing his Godlyke. again thanks for the kind words Lorne that would make sense if its the case. Its my only niggle with the bass, the radius. otherwise it ticks all the right boxes.
I could ask him if you like,he's a very good friend of mine
24. The fretboard is probably flatish because the owner of Godlyke owns and plays several vintage B.C.Rich basses,as well as his own Godlyke basses,so he probably had the boards made comfortable to him, very smart looking basses
25. B.C.Rich Bich 8 string (got that covered) B.C.Rich Widow (got that covered) B.C.Rich Mockingbird (got that covered) B.C.Rich Ironbird (got that covered) Sei original headless 7 string (bugger) Warwick Buzzard thru neck (Bugger) ESP Precision (Never likely to see that again) USA Spector (Again,Bugger) Ibanez Roadstar II with the Bird's eye top (Should never have sold mine) So,looks like I'll have to sell the house whilst the wife ain't looking
