A BC Rich Widow!! How very Blackie Lawless of you!
2 Widows mate, a 2007 Customshop and a 1994 Customshop ex D.D.Verni model, rebuilt by Chris Eccleshall and myself into the Blackie Lawless replica
How does that bridge Pup work out being so close to the bridge ???
It works just fine, and it's a DiMarzio, so it's loud anyway, the bridge pick up can be turned off by the push pull volume pot
-
Phhhh, you guys ain't even trying LOL It's got a pointy headstock! And a picture of Phil using my bass
Or maybe its fate saying you should sell it to me? haha!
I wouldn't want to give the postman a Hernia, it has a full flight case, which reminds me to get new foam and velvet for it, and also to get one built for the other JM
It is a shame! Yamaha have tidied them selves up though!
Not for me they haven't, still had issues getting knobs for the red JM
SALT IN MY WOUNDS! Andy, i'd do anything for a Blue Attitude 1, a BB714BS and a Sea foam green Atd Ltd II with perloid pickup cover!! And Those tourquise JM1's are simply beautiful. Add a JM2 and thats my perfect bass collection. (Only just occured to me they are all Yamahas!)
Here's the Vinegar to go with the salt That is the MK1 LTD I used to own, taken around late 1992.I had loads of problems with it, but once I completely rebuilt it, it was an awesome bass, It was a shame I had fallen out of love with it, due to Yamaha selling me a lemon and doing F*** all about it
I love the inlays on those
Thanks, I like 'em
-
I don't want a JM2 Instead I have 2 JM1's
-
Thanks man, there was no need for the feedback, but as said to you in the PM, I'd rather you knew it would fit/ work than end up with an expensive small ornament
-
The havoc might be a good bass, but it and in particular, it's headstock do not belone in te BC Rich line up IMHO
You'd imagine that a large company like Dean will have taken the appropriate advice over the designs
Like B.C.Rich did when they decided to threaten to sue the designer of the Bich for building his own logo'd Bich guitars, he was an outside contractor when he designed the Bich and was paid royalties until he left BCR for them using the Bich, fast forward about 20 years, a new company buy BCR and threaten to sue him, he can now build 100 of these things a year, he can't call them Bich though
-
Yep The Hanser Music Group, owns Traben, B.C.Rich (And the Havoc is awful and should never have a BCR logo on it), Floyd Rose and others And "Music Group" does make you think it's several companies banded together to own all these others, it's not, they used to be called Hanser Holdings International (HHI)

See, told you I wasn't a fan, I couldn't even spell his name I still knew he never played one and Alembic SHOULD be going mental over this
-
A friend of mine showed me these ages ago, asking my opinion of them, I went a bit mental, and told him Dean might just as well bring out a Micheal Jackson/Elvis Presley/Jimi Hendrix and whoever else is deceased and never touched a Dean model..........And I'm not even a fan of Mr Entwhistle Same thing with Dean's Dimebag BASS signature model, when the hell was he a bassist
-
Another -1 for Yamaha's "Attitude" from the warranty or spares department, on both a LTD Attitude and RBX 6JM, but it's wayyyyyyyyyy tooo long to type Doesn't mean the basses are sh*te though
-
I wouldn't swap my Yamaha's for a F**nder or G**son either, in fact I wouldn't have swapped the Attitude LTD (That gave me no end of problems) for one either
-
According to a very good friend of the Owner of Badass, Glen Quan, he is very ill, and has been for a long time, I am sure that is why Badass products seem to have vanished, I hope he gets better or another company buys Badass.
What is it about Ironbird necks?!
They just hate ME This is the 3rd Ironbird I've had, the first 2 were NJ Bolt ons with twisted necks, so I figured, If I'm gonna pay a fortune for a repair job, I might as well get a busted USA one, hence paying a fortune to buy the one I have
-
What you having done to the Ironbird? I can't remember if it's the red or black one you now have - with Grover Titans and the tremolo?
The truss rod end is snapped clean off, so the fretboard has to come off to see what is going on, and to replace the rod.If the neck is not savable (it's forward bowing), then the wings will be ripped off it and a new neck made, and a full respray Here it is in the Flight case I had made for it, and covered in crushed blue velvet, lined by a friend of mine It has a Kahler and the tuners are Schaller titans
Thanks Mikan, it's a real favourite - very nice player, and a present from my wife Great to see the Widow back, Lorne. It feels like it's been away forever, but it looks great with the chromed edges.
Thanks Bro, feels like it's been away forever too, I'm not sure wether I paid the Luthier for the work done to it, or for rent LOL He now has my Ironbird, sure hope he doesn't have that for 2 years as well !!!!

Got one of mine back from an almost 2 year refurb today This is how it looked when I dropped it off (The one on the left) And how it looks today
£200 ? nooooooooo.
Nice bass, but that sale more than paid for the petrol I used on the 500 mile round trip I made to collect the Mockingbird
-
When I was given the 1978 Phil Lynott Mockingbird, they made me take a 1967 Hagstrom 8, which had been resprayed in Yellow, and 2 Univox pedals (Waa and Volume). The Hagstrom was a friggin' tone monster, awesome sound from it, I sold it, and the pedals for £200 in 2007
I've heard they're rubbish Eric, I only want one because the name sounds like a prog concept album... Of course, having two of the things cluttering the place up must be unbearable, I'd be doing my charitable duty by taking one off your hands! Anyway, I approve of the way this thread's heading, and it deserves an unidentified Kasuga through-neck, probably early 80s: And if anyone spots one of these, in the UK & at a sensible price... J.
A friend of mine in America is selling one of these on Evilbay right now
