I introduced a Similar rule on the BC Rich Player's Forum. For a few reasons, It is annoying as hell, having someone show up, "I have this xxxxxxx for sale", it gets sold, you never see them again, they use forums as a free Ebay, the Forum's don't get paid for it, but when someone buys a guitar on a Forum, and it doesn't get sent to them (I.E., they get ripped off) the Forum always gets mentioned, like thay had something to do with the theft Also, our 50 post limit requires "Meaningful posts", our members will soon point out if someone posts "Nice guitar" 50 times and then post #51 "I have for sale" We like to think that within 50 posts, members will get their own "Gut instinct" about wether a seller is to be trusted or not.Some other forums require 100 posts or more Also, on our Forum, we have introduced a 30 day rule.If you have not posted a single thing within 30 days of signing up, your account will be deleted. A Forum, is a Discussion Forum, for exchanging ideas/facts/interactions, the 30 days gives a member a lot of time to look around, and see if they like the look of the place, or 30 days to rape the Catalogue section of as many catalogue scans as they can LOL.It saves a lot of database cost, when you can delete 10,000 member's info that never post, and leave you with 1,400 that have actually said something at some point,even if it was only once If you just want to read something, go to the Library, if you want to be interactive, join a forum

EBS_freak is completely correct, it is a Vintage B.C.Rich Wave bass, which was designed by Martyn Evans, not as Bernie Rico Snr would have you believe, himself Martyn Evans [url="http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/190968/?action=view&current=29_martyn_evans.jpg"][/url] And as he was when he worked at BCR [url="http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/190968/?action=view&current=Martyn.jpg"][/url] @ 4 strings, the DiMarzio pick ups are Passive, but the bass has a pre-amp booster, and a 6 position varitone, but I cannot see in the video, if the pre-amp switch is on, if it is off, then the bass is Passive @Mokl, they are very rare basses, there is one on German Ebay, but it has a horrid paint job on it, spiderweb

BTW, for those interested, The owner and myself have been discussing returning the bass to it's original condition, he is going to speak to his luthier to see IF it can be done, and is able to strip other vintage B.C.Riches of original creme DiMarzios and Chrome Grover Titans and Imperials, and use the Bich parts on the basses he uses as donors.Shame he has to do this, but the Imperials are impossible to get and Although I have 2 sets of Vintage Chrome Titans spare, he would rather do it this way So, fingers crossed, the red necks can be striped

A friend of mine, who knows the people at CME, told me, they had the Spinal Tap bass, so I emailed them asking for pictures, and they refused, 6 years ago A friend of mine in the USA owns the Ironbird bass from the Megadeth video to Wake Up Dead, he also has about 99 other BCR's, he would allow pictures, another friend owns the Steve Vai double neck Bich guitar, he would allow pictures, however another guy, who preports to have hundreds of vintage B.C.Riches, won't even tell you how many, what models, and certainly wouldn't share a SINLGE picture of them, makes you wonder if he actually has them. I own the Mockingbird bass from the "Do what you want to" Thin Lizzy Video, I have shown loads of pictures of it to anyone that asks, and some have even played it. So, think, it could be a LOT worse, at least the bass is NOT lost, and we are able to share the pictures of the bass,without having to pay for the ability to do so Again said without aggression, it is an exchange of ideas, there has been no swearing or school playground name calling from either of us, so I don't get the aggression thing

To clarify, this thread was started in the hope of sharing information and pictures, of what is a pretty famous bass, that has been missing for many years

Why do people think that because something was used in a film/ band/ history or whatever, that it automatically belongs to the "People", It doesn't If it means that much to you, perhaps you can offer him a lot of cash, and donate the bass to the R & R hall of fame yourself ?

Well as the Original case is beyond knackered, I had to get a new case for the Ironbird, a German company offered to do it for £250, then I spotted someone offering to make a case for any guitar or bass for £152 shipped! (Mad fool) I hit the BIN, and gave him the size, 1.4metres by .5 metres (I don't think he was chuffed!) Mmm, what's this? [/quote] Very good point, I told my friend, Who I had to phone in the USA, lazy sod, that, If it were mine, I would change it back to what it was in the film, it really couldn't hurt the value, and might even increase it.He would have a hard job getting the 8 string bridge in chrome though, unless he wanted to pay me a bloody fortune for mine
