1.
Stunning One thing though, is it the lighting or is left maple body wing darker than the right?
There is a slight difference where 20 years of a right hand/wrist has brushed against the upper part of the maple body giving it a lighter tone but it's mainly the light for the photo which seems to exaggerate any difference. Cheers, Jim
2. Last bump for a while and then it's going back in it's case.

4.
Bump for a fabulous bass guitar.
Thanks Mike. It is a cracker but it's a quiet world out there at the moment. I may hang on until things pick up.

6. Just to clarify, no trades for this as I'm going to use the (potential) funds for another project. Cheers, Jim
7. Thanks for the comments folks. Agreed. If you are after a Warwick, then this is The One!
8. Hi, After having withdrawn this, I'm now testing the water again for anybody who is after a great Warwick bass for £[s]875[/s] - £800. Cheers, Jim Hi, As per my other post, I'm moving on the non-players and saving the money for a rainy day (or a vintage jazz rainy day) and after a lot of thought, I've decided to sell my 1991 Warwick Streamer Stage 1. It really is a very good bass and for a bass celebrating it's 20 years birthday, it's in good condition with no major dings. There are some marks to the body (see photo) and it does show signs of use which is to be expected. Since I puchased it about a year ago, I have waxed it on several occassions and I will include the remainder of the wax with the bass. It comes with a very low action and a Warwick Rockbag soft gigbag. Cheers, Jim
9. I've finally come to the point where I realise that all I ever play is my Fender Jazz. Originally, I bought this as a backup but it just doesn't get played. It's a 1996 MIJ Fender Precision Bass which I believe is based on the 50's Reissue. In addition, it carries a sticker on the back of the headstock denoting the Fender 50th Anniversary. It's a beautiful Candy Apple Red with Maple neck and it currently has a black pickguard but it will also come supplied with a matt white one too. It also comes with a nice tweed case with red lining. (no name case). Although I've never gigged it, it did come with a few dings on the body (lower horn, top horn, near neck join, top edge of the body near cutaway and a small mark on the upper face of the body). In addition, at some point, it has had both a 13 hole and a 14 hole pickguard attached so there are holes in place for both under the current 13 hole pickguard. Any questions, just ask. Thanks, Jim

12. If it's Jamiroquai that has started you on this discovery then you might want to check out one of the 'Late Night Tales / Another Late Night' series of albums with JK choosing some of the songs that have influenced him. You'll find a few mentioned here plus people such as Dexter Wansel, Kleer and a few others.
13. resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has any feedback since it's six months old. Anyone sign up or using it ? Thoughts?
14.
I used APC to send a jazz bass, in a hard case, to Newcastle, from Hertfordshire. Cost was £27.00, and included insurance. The main thing for me though, was that i could deal with an actual human being, and when I got to the depot to drop it off, the same human being dealt with me. Big +1 on that kind of service, even though a bit more costly than some others.
Just had a call from my local APC depot to say (quote) "We made a mistake in offering you insurance (£1000) as by law, we are not allowed to offer insurance to any customers paying by cash/credit/debit card" - "we can only offer £100 insurance" Anybody else had this problem?
15. For those that are interested, I just thought I'd close this thread out..... Well, after several weeks of trying out amps with my MM Jazz Bass (Shuttle's, MB III, TC, Ampeg and Ashdown), I finally went for............. a TC RH450. I've tried to discard the recent 'hype' about these TC amps and I know (on paper) it's only 50W more than the SWR but in my opinion, these amps are very good. Nice warm sound, loud with both 12" Berg's, presets, built in tuner, built in compressor option, smooth gain control and lights up like a Xmas tree! (I tried a TC Classic where I could here single coil hum but not with the RH450 which was interesting.) I've used it a few times now before writing this reply and I'm loving that 'old skool' sound. Thanks to everyone for their input. Cheers, Jim
16. Just sold James a bass. Thoroughly decent guy and a pleasure to do business with. Cheers, Jim
17. Sold a bass to Ian. Thoroughly decent bloke and pleasure to do business with. Would recommend.
18. 'If you are looking for high frequency sizzle - Marcus Miller'ish tone - or for that matter a Mark King'ish tone - you simply won't find it ' Didn't Mark King use TC on his last tour?
19. Just done a deal with Alan which was extremely straight forward and easy. Great guy and would recommend.
20.
Depends on the gig.... when we do larger weddings and corporates then definitely bring the Sound Engineer along as you do not want to be seen as amateur in those functions.
+2 Most of the time, we always set up and go (keeping the desk nearby for any issues) and I bought a wireless unit specifically so that I can go out the front during soundcheck and listen from there. Big, important gigs that you don't won't to mess up on - then someone on the desk is good advice.
