  1. Hmmm, I bought mine as b-stock from Thomann, so maybe the first buyer changed the angle themselves - I don’t remember having to alter anything out of the norm. Absolutely quality instruments.
  2. Of all the basses I’ve had, this is the one that made Precisions click for me, and more than any other I can confidently say this is the one that’s staying with me to the end.
  3. I get that with the first 70 - the PB70 part, but I don’t get the second 70, the 70US part.
  4. My main bass for a few years now is a PB70-70US in Olympic White, with a rosewood fingerboard. Strung with light gauge Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats, something about it is just righteous. Really great instruments all round. I don’t understand the model numbers though - other than US means it came with US pickups as stock. Anyone know what the 70 before the US means?
  5. And they certainly do happen. As a resident of N.Ireland, we all got a chuckle at the recent Jubilee flag ‘mix up’ - I say mix up as in both cases it was probably a bit of ‘it’ll do rightly, sure what’s the difference?’
  6. Yes, it has the screw hole built in as standard. No adaptations needed. Here’s the proper wording from AI: ‘¼-20 mounting nut on chassis bottom for mounting on mic stand or combo amp bracket’
  7. Used it with an AI Clarus - think it was a Series 4 Plus. I might have that model number wrong, it was their current 2 channel head without effects. ***just remembered - it was an SL-2. I think.***
  8. Careful with the Avensis though - the older ones, 2010ish were perfect, but the newer ones don't seem to have a boot that opens up completely. Mine was great - would still be driving it now if someone hadn't driven into the front of me a few years ago.
  9. Excuse the late reply, only seeing this now. There was indeed a case once upon a time that exactly fits your bill, made by Summit. Had a detachable bag on the front for leads, etc. Bottom of the case sits just above your tailbone. Has a proper rucksack belt and it genuinely feels like you’re carrying nothing at all. Like others have said though, the downfall is that doorways are your enemy. Having said that I used mine in many’s an airport and tube station, you get used to it quickly. Think I bought mine around 2000-ish, and stopped seeing ads in BassPlayer magazine within a few years. Case is still going strong, with my eldest kid taking it to school every week. ** I should add, I’m 5’9”, and clipped plenty of doorways so I can see how demand for these might not have met manufacturers expectations.**
  10. NOW £360 plus postage Here is an Acoustic Image Upshot cab, with the optional mounting bracket for an amp head. Cab and bracket are in excellent condition, having only been gigged twice. A surprisingly great volume and projection from these. Selling only due to playing more electric bass these days. Still have the original box. Brand new the cab and bracket together are £541. Selling this for £400 £360 £330 plus postage.
  11. My Tidepool is 4.13kg on a digital luggage scale, but feels/balances much lighter.
  12. Yup, I have a Player Precision in Tidepool, with the maple neck. Just a damn fun bass to play. Build, feel and hardware are every bit as good as a 2008 American Std Precision I had, and a Fender Japan Precision that is my number 1 bass. Maybe the pickup could have a bit more character/attitude to it, but that's just personal preference.
  13. The Delano SBC 5 string pickups I have in a Maruszczyk fretless are 100x36mm. What Kent Armstrong ones are there? I was thinking of replacing mine, couldn’t find Barts that would fit. Do the Quads fit that size?
  14. Diagnosed with basal joint arthritis in my left thumb. Tried Glucosamine Sulphate for a while years ago, didn’t seem to help. Back and forth to doctor over several years, physio, wrong advice from physio, etc. Nothing helped. Got to the point of me jokingly saying to the doctor ‘if you took my thumb off I’d thank you for it’. Thought I’d give the Glucosamine a go again and this time it worked. No pain at all, maybe some slight stiffness. Only notice some pain if I forget to take it some day, then I’ll feel it that night/next morning.
  15. I think it matters even more so as, without it, it feels like a disconnect in the overall sound. The low end from the PA can make the stage amp sound like it has no body to it, leaving it sounding all mids/highs. I don’t like being too loud onstage but this headache of PA low end taking over can sometimes be a case of fight fire with fire.
  16. Danny from BassJapanDirect can get them, I think from Atelier. Worth dropping him a line.
  17. It’s not the pots, it’s the removing what’s around them that seemed to be the issue.
  18. Both my Streamliner heads (600 and 900) have zero volume/power problems, and both coming up on 10 years old. They both have crackling volume pots, but as AgedHorse said, the problem is finding a qualified tech to service/repair them. A well established local guy here won’t touch mine because of the Class D/transistor side of it.
  19. Bump for a great all-in-one solution. Great for both electric and upright basses. I’d happily buy this if I didn’t already have one.
  20. Stop it guys - you’re making me have second thoughts!!!!!!
  21. Any switching pedal will work, like the good old Boss LS-2. Check if your effects loop is parallel or series though. If it’s series it might only work with nothing in the front panel input.
  22. Sorry to hear this, horrible feeling for sure.
