1. Hey, If you're still looking one I'm selling mine for £250 plus shipping. Included is a lovely Aguilar padded case, which the cab was always taken out in, so it still looks pretty darn new. Cheers, Gareth
I should have bought it back... went for not a lot of money, great cab even for standalone sob sob
6. Hey Ho Folks - Here's my 1978 Gibson Ripper for sale. (That's as close a date as I could get online. If anyone can decipher Gibson's serial numbers please let me know if this is different). Has a great slim and incredibly straight neck. Bridge is very adjustable and stable. All original except for the bridge pickup. Didn't work when I bought it so had a new one made by Kent Armstrong. Aaron took a mold of the old pickup, so it came with string marks and all. Doesn't have the ashtray cover for the bridge. Looking for £600 + shipping.
7. Hey Ho Folks - Selling my EBS MultiComp and SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI. £100 + postage each. MultiComp is just over a year old, in great condition - except for a tiny scratch on the surface near the gain knob. More like an indent, hasn't broken thru the paint. PBDDI has seen a bit more action - about 2 years old. Working perfectly, but has a few scratches from plugs and leads in my gig bag. Do excuse the photos, taken on my phone. Also selling my 1978 Gibson Ripper. More details over in the Bass Classified section.
8. An SWR Golaith III 4x10?
9. :)Still here, still bumped.
10. Euphonic Audio, Epifani and Acoustic Image all make heads that have a switch on the back to change between 120/240V. Couldn't be more simple, and certainly saves the hassle of re-wiring or bringing a transformer. And they all sound great sound. The new Euphonic Audio head - The Micro 300 - has circuitry that sense the voltage and automatically changes it for wherever you are. Same with the new Eden WTX260. Actually, most, if not all, of the new 'digital' heads have the ability to work in the US and Europe with no hassle. All good.
11. Hi Folks, Does anybody have the Chaka Khan 'Move Me No Mountain' chart that appeared in Bass Player magazine, I think it was the August 2006 issue? I'm not trying to stiff BP, I have about 70 issues going back 14 years, but I managed to miss this one. If anyone has it can they scan it and email me a copy? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gareth
12. I've had great results with my GEL Eminence bass, with a David Gage Realist pickup. A better pickup sound than on my regular size upright. With the Eminence I can keep the same EQ/volume for arco as I do with pizz. With the regular upright, using a K&K Double Bass Max, I have to use a different EQ for each. Not sure why.
13. +1 for the Eminence. They're incredibly well made, very practical and, above all, sound and feel like the real thing. I've been touring with one for about 6 years. Never had a single problem with them. (Did have a faulty Realist pickup on it when I first got it and that was promptly replaced with no question). I've never been charged any excess baggage fees and they couldn't be more simple to set up and take apart when needed. They really are made with the point of view of being a replacement for a real upright on the road rather than many EUB's that lend themselves to electric players who play a little upright. Part of this is the feel of the neck, string tension and string length. Another factor is that it's a fully acoustic instrument, there's nothing electric about it. The pickup is the same (albeit slightly modified) as what you would use on a regular size upright. They're loud enough and sound good enough for hotel room jamming/practicing. I know a guy here in Belfast who was selling his 5-string detachable version, not sure if he sold it or not. If you're still looking I'll give him a shout. Not sure if he's a member here.
14. Thanks for that, never been on those pages before. I'll give them a look. Cheers, g
