1. Definately Gibson era..... The SMC Range was their concept. I'd say about £300-£400 for worth.
2.
The guy on Paul Simon's "Graceland" (anyone know?)
Bit of (probably) well known trivia for you.... The bass break on 'You Can Call Me Al' is actually some slap and pop played backwards! #No sh*t Sherlock... I here you all cry!#
3.
Not sure where his distortion comes from, but I'm pretty sure he had more than just a volume pedal when he played with the Dwarves at Download Festival last year...
Its not distortion.... it's overdrive from the SVT2.
4. There's one that colour hanging in the Hard Rock Cafe in Hurgada, Egypt that used to swing by the knees of Mr Sixx himself!!
5. The old confusion between necks and fingerboards I think. Gunstock oil to clean an unfinished 'neck'. Lemon Oil to clean a Rosewood fingerboard. Damp cloth for a lacquered Maple board. Or some of these.....
6. Cliff Williams - tighter than a gnats you know what! Chris Childs - Thunder. Great melodic runs. Pat Badger - Extreme. Great tone and technique.

MARK BASS
+1 I've currently got a Markbass Little Mark F-Series L.E. Paired up with an ebs 4x10. Sweetest setup I've ever had. At this moment in time, there's no other amp Giving me GAS. The MB Provides and Delivers.
Dangerously entertaining!! The soundguy D.I'd after the head and I nearly took some walls down!! Thats me looking furtive behind the rig by the way.
8. He absolutely CRANKS the drive on the SVT 2's to get his tone. Think the break in No One Knows when he's playing the octave. Serious overdrive!! When I had my SVT 2 this was one of the songs I'd very happily play along to as the tone was just dialled if I went to 10 on the drive.
9. I don't consider myself a great player. I can be studious when I need to be in order to learn/play a song required of me. However, the sort of stuff Nathan has posted on youtube blows me away. Great technique and application. I would have to apply myself for an awful long time to get anywhere near that standard. Real life (work/family and time) prohibits me from doing so. I guess I'm happy enough plodding along with what I'm doing. The lads in the band seem happy enough with what I can come up with. It suits the music we play and whilst not technically mindblowing I concentrate on feeling the kickdrum and getting into the pocket so to speak. I pride myself in doing that VERY well. So, yeah, I'm happy with my limited ability!
10.
nice one does the brewery tap still do the pukka thai food?
AUGH!! The best mate! And they threw in a 3 course meal on the rider!!! Roast Duck Curry..... thats what I'd go for! Hey.... I've hijacked your hijack!!
11. Right here John. Bloody guitarists, eh?
12. Just threw you an addy on myspace John... you can grab some local promoters Cambridge/Peterborough way from us!
13. Try being an outsider from Leicester!! Many times I've contacted venues in and around the city to be asked... "Are you a local band?" When told no they pretty much tell us to take a running jump!! We even follow the procedures set down by the venues for getting gigs, ie, registering on local forums, introducing ourselves, following up with a demo cd and phone call etc... only find find the promoters don't stick to their own obligations. It's VERY frustrating because you know you have the songs, the sound, the attitude and are actively looking to build on your fanbase only to be met with with sort of geographically political sh*te!! I'd hazard a guess that it's not just Leicester though (just in case I get slaughtered for this)!!!
14. Tombboy - has been attempting to play bass to some sort of acceptable standard for 24 years now... a lack of dogged determination has enabled him to fail miserabley!!! Has owned more guitars than Eric Clapton (completely untrue) and goes through rigs quicker than north sea oil! Currently playing EBMM Stingrays through Markbass in a band called The Loop who compensate for Tombboy's morose, boring style of play by actually having some half decent tunes!!! Patient, understanding Wife & children who allow Tombboy infinite time to partake in his self indulgent w***-fest and actually make him feel that he is far superior than his current level of skill,, somewhat akin to a tone deaf aomeba!

Bruce Foxton

He never recorded with the Ric and very rarely played one live. Only for TOTP and videos did it (and an Ibanez copy) come out. All recording was done with the P or an acoustic (on Start). He used to use a Marshall 100w Superbass. Today he plays a P through an SVT 2 Pro and an 810.
16. Me last year at rehearsal. I do have more hair than this.... honest!! Me & my daughter Connie when she came forth!! And me with my other baby.... the 30th!!
