1. Roll up, roll up, Fender Jazz Bass for sale. I'm fancying a change, so selling my USA Deluxe Jazz. £870 or open to trades. Set nice and low, plays like an absolute dream - has been extremely well looked after. 2. Cheers for the tip buddy, though I'm also after that sweet sweet cutaway, and a maple neck.
3. SOLD Hi all; I'm really sad to have to part with this beauty, but it's time for me to get myself some active electronics with a maple neck and unfortunately I can't have both. This guy has been toured a lot, and has picked up a few scuffs along the way, but has always played and sounded absolutely beastly. I'm looking for either £700ono, or part ex for a Fender USA Deluxe/Elite. The bass comes with a Fender hardcase (pictured). One of the clasps has broken off, but it still closes securely, and has been toured with extensively. Any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. 4. Hey, is this still for sale? I'm based in Brighton, so quite keen to try it out.
5. Hah! That's excellent. I'd never actually gotten round to looking into anyone except John's previous musical outings. Mahavishnu Orchestra...What an unbelievably good band.
6. I'm genuinely shocked that no one has mentioned Chris 'Daddy' Dave. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViHmnR4OXUc Aside from him: Thomas Pridgen Billy Cobham
7.
Back in the day(!!!) we used a Selmer Goliath cab which had an 18" Goodmans in it rated at, I think 50 Watts & was 16 Ohm. A bundle of joy to carry around! G.
I just drooled involuntarily - My back winced.
Something with plenty of cone area. 4x12 or 2x15 should do the trick.
Cool, cheers, having a look at potential models now. Is anyone currently gigging with one? -- Also, just realised that I may have posted this in the wrong subforum. Please move it if necessary.
8. Hello all. There has been a somewhat similar post to this a little while ago, but it didn't fully give me the answers I was after, so I thought I'd put it out to the floor: I have acquired myself a Selmer Treble'n'Bass 50 SV head, and I'm trying to find the best cabinet to pair it with. As you may or may not know, the outputs are 7.5ohms and 15ohms, which (correct me if I'm wrong) rules out any 4ohm cabs. I've read that some people have used it with a 1x15, and what I'm really looking for is something great sounding and incredibly loud. What experience have you guys had, and what would you suggest? Many thanks;
9. Damn, if that was the sunburst model, I'd have offered my USA Jazz. Good luck though.
10. Hey Murray. It's the 8 ohm version, and I'm based in Brighton
11. Hello all I'm looking to sell my Markbass s450h Club Series Head + 1x15h Markbass Cab, in order to get myself a smaller rig, or perhaps even a nice little combo. The head has a four band EQ with separate level controls for the mid's, effects loop in the back, regular speaker outs, speakon out (speakon cable included), ground lift switch, direct out with post/pre EQ switch and a tuner out. I'm ideally looking for either £450 for the whole lot, or £250 each. Trade offers are welcome! Many thanks; Adam
12. Just got off the phone with my mother. She does standup comedy in London and I forgot she was performing tonight. This is how the conversation went. Me: Hi mum, just letting you know Wallander is on at 11:30. Mum: Sorry love, I'm performing in London. There are some musicians here actually, and one of them is a bass player. Me: Oh really? Mum: Yes, he plays in a band, I'm not sure if you've heard of them, the umm.. The Darkness. (pause) Have you heard of them? Me: Erm yes, they're quite big actually. Mum: Really? "My son says you're quite big" "Is that so?" (Laughter) Me (who gets star struck by my postman): Well.. give him my regards, have a nice evening. Mum: Will do, goodbye! Euphemisms apart and role reversal apart, it was quite a strange incident. Atleast I can now say I've technically met the bassist from The Darkness; my life is complete.
13. Unfortunately I couldn't create my perfect Kaiser Chiefs album; I had to actually have their music on it. Aaathankyou.
14.
No he's not. Taking it from where you say,the E is dropped by two tones and the rest are dropped by one. However,as a 'standard' 5 string is BEADG,he's actually tuning the low B string up a semitone,the high G up a tone,and the rest up a minor third. So, going from there,I'd be more inclined to get slightly lighter strings than heavier ones.
I am a fool. I meant he's taking a standard drop D tuning down two steps.
15. He's not tuning up, he's taking E A D G B tuning (essentially just a guitar minus the high E) down two tones. I think as big a 5 string set you can lay your hands on would be perfect for your situation. Alternatively just just set up a 5 string in it's natural configuration (B E A D G) and move all the unison parts to other places ont the neck.
