Lovely 4- and 6-stage analogue phaser that is an evolution of the original Maestro PS-1 phase shifter (the first ever phaser unit) that was designed by the legendary Tom Oberheim. Can be powered by standard 9V supply or a battery. In excellent condition. Slight damage to one edge of the cardboard box as shown in picture. Price includes recorded delivery within the mainland UK.

Source Audio UltraWave (One Series Multiwave distortion)
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Effects
Nice to hear some positive comments about this. It is a much misunderstood pedal indeed. I tended to just use it in single band mode most of the time. I did move mine on a few months ago as I wasn’t really using it. I don’t really use much distortion and I personally find that having almost infinite options gives me option paralysis. I am finding I get more musical satisfaction from gear that is more restricted in scope so that it either pushes me in a certain direction or forces me to problem solve to get around limitations. It’s the same with synths for me; I prefer something with a limited feature set that allows me to get to a sound quickly and not get distracted by endless tweaking possibilities as it leaves more time for me to come up with musical ideas. It is a fantastic pedal nonetheless, but one that my ageing brain finds too much. -
Selling my spare digital piano. Still in excellent condition and well looked after. Wasn’t played much over the last ten years after I bought a Nord. It has a grand piano sound, DX7-style e-piano and a Rhodes. Comes with music rest, original power supply and a Yamaha sustain pedal (which was a huge improvement over the original one). Here’s a link to another exemplar of the same piano that recently sold in my local shop. https://richtonemusic.co.uk/technics-sx-p30-digital-piano-psu-gig-bag-2nd-hand/ Collection only - I have no car access now.

It’s worth checking his channel. The popcorn bass thing sounds really cool, almost like a synth bass.

Brilliant sight-reading practice resource

Yeah, the last three in this are very tough. Quintuplets are something I really need to work on. -
Came across this channel a few weeks ago and it’s a great practice tool for reading rhythmic groupings. https://youtube.com/@gridmic-readmusic

Do you have any particular tracks/parts in mind? Are you specifically talking about bass sounds or about synth sounds in a wider context? Lots of 80s synth stuff was done on Roland Juno 6/60/106 (analogue subtractive) and Yamaha DX7 (FM). The Juno sounds are pretty simple as it has one oscillator that can do saw and/or square, and a square sub oscillator. Single envelope and 4-pole resonant lowpass filter. Also has a 1-pole static highpass filter. Juno magic comes from the stereo chorus. I might actually have a blast at doing some Juno-inspired patches. DX7 patches are harder to replicate. C4 can do some ballpark stuff. Most 80s tracks used one of the stock 32 presets. I’ve done a few C4 patches that are some way towards one of the bass patches (the one on Take On Me). C4 does classic envelope filter stuff easily. And yes, FI will do a lot of the analogue stuff brilliantly (better than C4 in many cases).

Another to check out in the Doom-like category is the Crowther Prunes & Custard. -

Electrical certification still underway but progressing. I just got an updated hardware unit recently. (No, the labelling isn’t off-centre; it’s just a parallax effect due to the recessed ports and the angle I shot at.)

Emma Electronic Okto Nøjs is very close to the Doom. Tech 21 Red Ripper is in that territory too (Sam Wilkes uses one).
