Don't know how much interest I'm gonna get on this but I've got a Saxxy alto saxophone stand going spare. It comes in a velour bag and folds up inside it and can be stored in the bell of the saxophone. Really great design but surplus to requirements as I've got another stand. It's in excellent condition as it has hardly been used. Looking for £25 or near offer plus £1.94 postage via Royal Mail 1st class. PM me if interested.

Musicman 3EQ - ANOTHER PRICE DROP - £675 - OUCH!
Quatschmacher replied to Perry's topic in Basses For Sale
This really hurts to let go but I just cant get used to the wide neck.
I know what you mean - I had the same thing with my Stingray. Bought a Sterling now and it's great. The sound gets pretty close and the neck is so much easier to play. Have you tried one? If not you ought to give one a go. As a comparison you could take your 'Ray along to do an AB. When the Sterling's switch is towards the bridge the humbucker is in parallel (as it is on a 'Ray). Free bump. -
I sold Anthony a bass yesterday and the transaction went very smoothly. Communication was excellent and he turned up when he said he would. I'd have no hesitation in dealing with him again. Many thanks!

Hi guys, I'm considering offering this up for sale. It was my main (only) bass until last summer when I bought a fretted Sterling. Since then I've not really played this any more. It's done about a gig or two a month for the last few years but is still in good condition. There are a few small marks as seen in the photos. There is wear on the fingerboard from roundwound strings; this too can be seen in the pictures. Whilst taking pictures I also found a crack in the finish by the neck pocket which I'd never seen before! I've included a picture of this too. There's a very small amount of scratchiness in the pots, but only when turning them. The A string slot in the nut is slightly wider than the current string width (85) so that there was a bit of rattle (but only when playing hard rest strokes on the D string). This really was a minor issue: I solved it with a tiny bit of paper. I don't want to overemphasise the negative aspects, I only mention them for the sake of completeness; they're fairly minor. This bass has served me well and would be ideal for someone looking to take up fretless. Don't really know what I should be asking for this. Does £65 o.b.n.o. sound fair? Pickup from Sheffield, that way you can check it out properly first. PMs with interest and/or comments are welcomed.
ive decided it would def be the natural / maple / pearl block, 75 reissue id be after, not that im likely to find one!
Well, there's one on ebay at the moment! (Seller is in Bristol.) Also, you can still buy used stock from Ishibashi, and they had a few of these in recently. You just need to check every day as they come and go quite fast. -
Marcus Miller Jazz for £400 with buy-it-now!
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Well, what do you know - it went for £442! Still a good price, but it makes me laugh when this kind of thing happens. -
Well, I've got a gorgeous '74, longscale neck with an ultra-slim body. There are a few cracks beginning to show in the finish but it still plays pretty well. The downside is that I recently used the body to create a couple of miniature reproduction models which caused a bit of damage. The two spring loaded control knobs no longer repspond as they're supposed to - they've become really sensitive, such that now when you twist them all you hear is a high-pitched squeal instead of a pleasant sound. Also the jack socket got mashed up, the fit isn't so tight now. It still works but is a bit temperamental - sometimes I have to hold the cable in my hand instead.
It's a bit harsh, describing her as a "massive maple corpus", but that's German bluntness for you ...
It's actually just a poor translation - "massiv" in German means "solid" in English

Has anyone compared a Jazz reisue to NOS??
Quatschmacher replied to Jamesemt's topic in Bass Guitars
I like the reissues as they're not stupid expensive, if you wanna pay the money for a CS I would go for something better than a fender...One point though is the '75 reissue binding doesn't feel as nice as it looks...its bumpy and feels horrible to me!!!
I found that too - I tried a Marcus Miller (natural) next to a USA 75 reissue (natural, maple with black blocks) and the finish on the frets and binding on the USA model was appalling, especially since it is way more expensive than the Miller! It basically convinced me that Fender Japan is the way to go if I want one of those 70's type jazzes (given I can't afford a custom shop or a Sadowsky UV70). -
Marcus Miller Jazz for £400 with buy-it-now!
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Is it your auction by any chance? lol
No it's not mine (my ebay user name is the same as it is on this forum) but I can understand your suspicion. (And, no, I don't know the seller either.) I was just being community-minded when I posted the link as that's one of the things this forum is for; since I couldn't get it myself at the time I thought I'd do others a favour. -
Nothing's selling very well at the moment though, so it wouldn't shock me if it doesnt reach 400. Nick
I just had a look at the recently completed listings for Marcus Miller basses: 1 for £500, one for £580! Seriously, If I'd had the funds in my account yesterday when I saw this for £400 I'd have jumped on it. Maybe the seller isn't aware of the prices they fetched recently so it still may be worth contacting the seller to see if he'll end the auction for £400. Or you could arrange to go round and try it and just take the £400 with you and offer it then. If it were local to me, I'd do it. -

Marcus Miller Jazz for £400 with buy-it-now!
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
WHAT?! Who was daft enough to not use the buy-it-now of £400? It's not likely to go in an auction for cheaper than that. Some people are just plain bonkers. -
Just spotted this Fender Marcus Miller for a bargain price - £400 with a buy it now (downside is that immediate payment is required via Paypal). If anyone lives near the seller they ought to rouse him out of his bed in the early hours to get their mittens on this at this price!

Just sold some strings to Pete. Great communication throughout and swift payment. I'd have no hesitation in trading with him in the future. Recommended.

How much should I pay for a used Gallien 400RB-IV-210?
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thanks for the reply. It was an ebay auction starting at £250 which I thought would be worth paying. In the end it actually went for £320, so probably good that I didn't bid. -
Hi guys, I've got a lightly used set of flats that I'd like to sell on. The reason is that they're a bit on the light side for me - I just found out that the "mystery" D'Addarios that came with my bass are in fact 50-105 and I really like that gauge. I installed the EBs in January and they've seen two 2-hour rehearsals and a few spots of personal practice; they've just begun to break in a little (some of the brightness has begun to go). They've been cut to my Sterling so the G-string won't fit on a jazz-type headstock now, but perhaps someone out there can use them. Any takers at £5 plus (actual) shipping?
